Ten Years Later
"Jason? Jason you need to get going or you'll be late for the funeral." I hear my mom say from outside my door.
"Is it time already?" I mumble, putting down all the photographs.
"Yeah, it's time. I'm so sorry sweetie. Are you sure you don't want us to go with you?" She asks, opening the door to my room.
I look up at her. "I'm sure. Dylan's going with me anyway to comfort Bella."
"Okay honey. We love you, you know."
"I love you too mom."
She then leaves and I get up, putting on the black suit jacket. The memory replays through my mind as I break down crying again.
. . .
"Jason? You have a phone call." My mom says, handing me the house phone.
I take the phone from her. "Hello?"
"Jason?"
"Yeah. Who is this?"
"Jason, it's Bella. Mia's older sister." I hear her sniffling on the other end, almost like she had been crying.
"Bella, what's going on?" I ask worried.
"Mia- Mia was coming over to surprise you, Jay."
"What happened, Bella?" I whisper.
"She's dead, Jason. She got in a really bad car crash on her way over." Bella says breaking down.
"W-What?" Tears started streaming down my face.
"She's dead," Bella whispers into the phone. "The- The funeral is next week. Mia would've wanted you to be there."
"I- okay. Th-thanks for te-telling me." I cry out.783Please respect copyright.PENANA3tUVyx5Qdk
. . .
I was now standing in front of her grave. Tears were once again falling from my eyes. I held a single lily before letting it float down to the top of her grave, allowing it to rest there.
"I love you, Mia. Forever and always." I whisper before turning away and leaving.
