To some extent, this being the final reflection is disappointing. These have challenged me into writing deep, thought provoking papers that have also improved my overall style as an author. Knowing that the Research Paper is our final assignment, it makes me want to continue writing these for fun. Perhaps I just like brain teasers every other week or so.
One could ask why these things are fun. The answer lies in the deep thinking process. As a writer, deep thinking has become a major part of my life. Though this might be a weakness at times, via over thinking when it isn't necessary, it is still fun. I touched upon it in an earlier paper, placing hidden themes in writing for others to pick out is a major part of the process in the opinions of some.
As an author, it is interesting to see what other people think of these thought provoking themes and questions. When I wrote Midnight, basing it upon my views of society today, I had no idea that people would pick up on these themes and debate over them. The concept of having my work picked apart in such a way and later shared thrilled me to great extent. This is one of the many reasons why I continue this process.
Lastly, as a reader, I also enjoy picking out hidden messages in the works of others when they exist. Debating about topics hidden in the passages of a paper are always fun because they keep you thinking, much like writing these reflections has done. It ends with sadness though when the fun is over however it is not goodbye, it is only until next time when you begin anew with different works of art.
