While Aunt Leona and Mr. Gregory were chatting with each other in the living room. Oscar and Abdullah were in the kitchen. Amna had left the house following the police officers.
"I can't believe this happened." Oscar said pacing anxiously around the kitchen.
"I can." Abdullah said taking a sip of some orange juice from the glass in his hand.
Oscar stopped walking. He stood angrily near his friend who was seated near the kitchen table.
"What do you mean by that?" Oscar asked with his arms crossed.
Abdullah gave his friend a solemn stare "Mrs. Hayes wasn't the only eyewitness."
Oscar raised both his eyebrows. "Spit it out, Abdullah."
"Dude, I was watching you two last night from my bedroom window. He had thrown the diary at you and then you walked away."
"Did you see who or what attacked him?"
"Well, no but…"
Abdullah took another gulp of juice.
"I went back to bed after watching you leave."
"Your point is?"
"Did you kill Salim?"
Has my best friend gone nuts?
"He assaulted me. I was angry. But I don't have the guts to kill that bully."
"Then isn't it obvious?"
"What do you mean?"
"The book killed him." Abdullah muttered finishing his OJ.
Oscar got up from his seat. "Samantha wouldn't do that. I love her."
"That diary's driving you crazy, Oscar." Abdullah said also getting up. "If you love her then you'll also kill for her."
Oscar turned his back on his friend. "Don't ever talk to me again."
"Is everything alright, boys?" Aunt Leona asked suddenly appearing at the doorway with Mr. Gregory behind her.
"Goodbye." Abdullah said and walked past the couple to the front door vacating the house.
Aunt Leona walked over to her nephew and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You can talk to me, Oscar."
He brushed her hand aside. "I'm not in the mood for talking."
He walked past Mr. Gregory and marched up the stairs to his bedroom.
Aunt Leona embraced Mr. Gregory. "I wonder what's going on with him."
"Teenagers." Mr. Gregory commented with a smirk on his face.
