The following Wednesday afternoon found Dorian and Reina in an empty classroom. Analisse had gotten the go-ahead to start her gaming club and had sent out a mass text asking for them to meet after school that day and gave them the room number. They’d gotten there supremely early as they left the same class, and the room was just a few doors down. They didn’t take any detours save for their lockers and decided there was no point in waiting outside. Reina had chosen a desk to sit on, kicking her feet back and forth as Dorian leaned against a corner with his usual sucker in his mouth. Neither of them said anything as they waited before Reina decided to break the silence.
“Last weekend was fun,” she smiled at him.
“I wouldn’t say no to doing it again,” Dorian agreed. “But maybe not a weekend where I forget I had planned to stream?”
“Might be a good idea so we can take our time if you do stream,” she chuckled. “It was a good idea to check the corset….”
“I didn’t know you’d bought a second one.”
“I wanted to try and get used to the feeling,” she admitted. “I’m wearing it right now, actually. Can you tell?” Dorian’s wry smile was answer enough for her. “I thought you said you were better than that…?”
“I am,” Dorian countered. “I’m not staring and salivating, am I?”
“Fair point,” she conceded. “And I suppose it’s not the worst thing we’ve done. How’d you like me keeping my end of the deal?”
“When you said you’d snuggle up, I didn’t really think you’d be quite that aggressive,” Dorian admitted. “Makes me wonder if you’ve got a body pillow….” Now it was her turn to answer with a wry smile. “Lewd or not?”
“Which do you think, Croxton?”
“Who is it?”
“Sebastian.”
“Michaelis?”
“Is there any other?” Dorian shook his head but returned her smile. He couldn’t really say what he’d expected, but the answer he got didn’t surprise him at all. “Thanks for taking his place…I think he might’ve been a little jealous.”
“You’re saying you would’ve done it even if I hadn’t beaten Abs Rad?” Dorian inquired. Reina shrugged coyly. Dorian would’ve pressed the issue if the others hadn’t decided to walk in at that point. “Hey, Wolfgang. Analisse got you too?”
“Hard to say no, isn’t it?” he replied. “Kinda like a puppy, isn’t it?” The rest filed into the room, but Dorian couldn’t really place the names of the other three people who had come in. He also noticed that two of them were girls. When everyone settled themselves somewhere, Analisse stood at the front desk, nervously wringing her hands.
“Okay,” Analisse started, looking at them. “Um…I’m really grateful to everyone here for signing up for this.
“It was a great idea, Analisse,” a black haired, tanned girl offered from the back of the room. “And I’m more than certain that everyone here was happy to help.” There was a general sound of agreement from around the room before Analisse continued.
“Thanks Jean,” she continued. “Anyway, as this is our first meeting, there’s a lot we need to decide on like officers like president and such.”
“I honestly think you should be our first president, Analisse,” Dorian suggested, flicking his sucker stick into the trash. “I mean…you’ve done all the leg work to get this up and running, so it seems only fair, really.” This was answered by more mumbles of agreement and Analisse looked at everyone in turn.
“I don’t know,” she said, shifting uncomfortably on her feet. “I just don’t know if I’m the right person for that….”
“We can put it to a vote, then,” Dorian offered.
“As much as I’m not sure about the decision, I’m not so stupid as to think I wouldn’t be voted in,” Analisse stated. “It’s going to be a unanimous vote from all of you, so I’ll take the job.” She straightened a little and adopted a stoic expression. “That being said, I was also thinking of having positions such as vice president, secretary and treasurer just to have some delegation of jobs.”
“I don’t mind being secretary or treasurer,” Wolfgang admitted. “But I guess we might put all of this to a vote unless no one else stands up.” There was a brief and forward conversation as well as a few votes being put up for who should be what. In the end, Wolfgang was named as treasurer, a blonde named Nina was vice president and Jean was named secretary.
“We can get more on what the responsibilities do more at a later date,” Analisse assured. “I don’t think we really need to stay much longer, but I want to say a few things and maybe get some ideas on the go.” She took a deep breath. “I’m going to be making a chat over Discord for us and new members to just chat and have fun, but we can also use for meetings. When I make it, I’ll set up somewhere where the rules are prominent, and we’ll discuss them to ensure a safe community environment. If there’s any that you all think are important, you can give them now.”
“No politics of any kind,” Adelaide offered, starting Dorian as he hadn’t noticed her come in somehow. “Politics are just a breeding ground for arguments on all sides, aren’t they?”
“Agreed,” Reina helped. “If we’re trying to make a safe and relaxed community about games and other nerd stuff, politics just need to stay out of it.”
“All in favor?” Every hand in the room went up. “Alright, motion passed. That’ll be the first rule. Any others?” No one spoke up as what they could’ve said could be said later. “So the last thing is that we should probably start thinking about doing fundraisers so we can have a bit of money for the club. If we want, we can start tossing around ideas and maybe get one and start planning by the next time we meet.”

About an hour later, they filed out of the room, chatting as they made their way down the halls.
“How the hell did we just spend an hour discussing fundraisers, many of which were common, and land on date auction?” Dorian sighed. “I mean…we literally could’ve done anything, and we decided on this?”
“Don’t be pissy because your idea didn’t get any support,” Nina countered. “As much as I’m sure everyone would’ve loved your butler and maid café, I think it would’ve been tricky to do….”
“Might be easier than you’d think,” Reina offered. “Right Dorian?” Everyone’s eyes snapped towards him as he held up a sucker.
“Might’ve been,” he shrugged. “Would’ve had to get a few things from back home, but it could’ve been done….”
“What do you mean?” With a heavy sigh, Dorian pulled out his phone and scrolled for a bit. He stopped walking and held it out to show Dorian with shorter, slicked-back hair along with a seven other guys and girls, all of whom were either dressed as maids or butlers.
“You’ve done that before?” Wolfgang asked, incredulously.
“Why do you think I suggested it?” Dorian countered. “I could’ve called home and got some custom orders…I’d need your measurements, but I think it wouldn’t have been fine.” He wedged the sucker stick into the back of his mouth. “Oh well…I can assure you that, while I intend to help, I’d like to exclude myself from the auction….”
“No way, Dorian,” Adelaide stated. “You’re definitely a money maker….”
“She’s right,” Analisse continued. “I mean…the way I hear people talk about you….”
“I’m flattered,” he sighed. “But that’s exactly why I’d rather be off the chopping block.” He looked at them all in turn. “However…if I do put myself up for this…I’m expecting the rest of you as well. One of you can MC for it, but the rest of you have to put yourselves out there with me.”
“That’s fair,” Jean shrugged. “Might want to also make programs or something so that people know what we’re looking for with this….”
“Yeah, that’d be a really good idea,” Adelaide agreed. “I’m sure you’d appreciate it out of all of us….”
“Why’s that?” Wolfgang asked. They all looked at him.
“Wolf, mate,” Reina started. “I know how thick you can be, but are you serious right now?” His clueless look told them all how clueless he was.
“Good to know,” she said.
“Mate, I’ve been here for less than two months,” Dorian offered. “She’s a lesbian.”
“Oh,” Wolfgang said, obviously not hiding the fact that this was new knowledge for him. “I honestly didn’t know….”
“Don’t worry about it,” Jean assured him. “I’d rather you know me for everything else I am, really. It’s a big enough pain being a girl gamer…add on batting for the other team…yeah.”
“Guess you’ve got a lot going for you as the captain of the girl’s football team, eh?” Nina asked, grinning.
“It comes and goes,” Jean smiled back. “But it’s more important that they just treat me like another member of the team. It’s nice to just be me, you know?”
“Then I hope we’ll make you feel welcome with us,” Analisse said, a determined look about her. “We’re in this to game and nerd out, so that’s what we’re going to do!” They continued walking, Dorian and Wolfgang holding open the doors before falling back into step. “I guess we’ll decide on a date for this later.
“It’ll need to give us all enough time to find something more formal to wear,” Dorian advised. “I think I brought my tux with me….”
“You brought a tux to school?” Nina asked.
“I know that Sacred Heart has more formal events sometimes,” he countered. “I’d rather not have to get in touch with my folks back home for it. Speaking of which…,” he turned to Reina, “I’ve wanted to talk to you about…that thing I’ve been working on.”
“Yeah, how’s that going?” she asked. “You haven’t told me anything and you won’t let me see it.”
“I should have it done by tomorrow night if I just plough on with it,” Dorian assured her. “Then, of course, you’ll have to come over so we can make any adjustments….”
“The hell are you two talking about?” Adelaide inquired. Both of them seemed to have forgotten that they hadn’t reached the gate and went their separate ways from the others for a moment. Despite this, they’d been aware enough to choose their words carefully since they were still being secretive about each other.
“Just something Reina and I are doing,” Dorian replied, still trying to choose his words carefully. “It’s nothing for the rest of you to worry about….” He turned around to walk backwards as they left the school grounds.
“We’ll be seeing you all,” Reina offered, waving to them as Dorian gave a much smaller sign before turning back around. The rest of them watched as the two left, still talking about whatever it was and leaving them with more questions about the two than they’d probably ever get answers for.
