Reina helped Dorian move his coffee table and sofa out of the way to open up the sitting room before he darted upstairs, returning shortly with a speaker, one kitten on his hip and the other on his back. Reina laughed as he didn’t seem to notice or care while hooking up his phone to the speaker and opening a playlist.
“Certainly a fashion statement, aren’t they?” she giggled. He pried both of them off and ushered them out of the room.
“Not really sure why I brough them with me,” Dorian admitted. “Clingy little sods....” He turned back to her and folded his arms across his chest. “Now...are you seriously telling me you don’t know how to dance?”
“It’s not that I don’t know how to dance,” she corrected, shuffling on her feet. “It’s just that I don’t know how to dance...properly.”
“I figured that’s what it was,” Dorian conceded. “Girls usually just have the ability to just dance to whatever they feel like. Something I’ve been rather jealous of for quite a while. Guys need a partner.” He offered her his hand. “I assume you’ve slow danced, before?”
“A time or two,” she smiled. “But it’s been a while...just let me see....” She slowly placed his hands on her waist while linking hers behind his neck. “This look right to you?”
“Perfect,” he smiled back. “But that’s not how I need to teach you....” Releasing himself from her grip, Dorian walked over to his phone and hit play. Soft, slow music started from the speaker, Reina swaying a little to the rhythm. “There is another way to slow dance, but I’ve only really ever seen it in American movies for the big high school dance....” He offered her his hand, spinning her around and towards him, grabbing her other hand to cross her arms.
“This is intimate....”
“A touch, yes,” Dorian continued, letting her go again. “But you’re here to learn how to waltz rather than just slow dance....” He stepped back to his phone and scrolled through his playlist. “Do you sing?”
“What does that have to do with anything?” Reina asked.
“Just might make it easier to help you,” Dorian offered. “So...do you?”
“I sing a bit, yeah.” Dorian changed the song before offering her his hand again. When she took it, he pushed it out to the side a bit before guiding her other hand to his shoulder while resting his own on her waist. “You’ll be taking the lead, I suppose?”
“If you want me to teach you, yes,” he said. The look on her face made him a tad nervous, but he persevered. After all...he’d seen her in her underwear before. “Anyway, I’m just going to teach you something kinda basic, but it’s not meant to be hard, anyway.” He let go of her left hand and hit play. “Now, when I tell you to, move your right foot forward....”
Over the next several minutes, Dorian took Reina through some easy steps, spinning her to get her used to the feeling and doing a few more minute fluid movements. “You learn fast.”
Not like it’s that hard,” Reina pointed out, allowing him to dip her and pull her back up. “It’s actually kinda nice. Guess you kinda sweep me off my feet, huh?” He let her go and grabbed his phone, smiling over his shoulder at her. “Thanks for teaching me...but I’ve got something to ask you.”
“Your costume will be more than ready by the time of the dance,” he told her, slipping his phone into his pocket. “Still not going to lie and say that I wasn’t surprised when you said you’d like to try a bunny girl, if I’m honest....” The look on her face caused his smile to faulter. “What? Having second thoughts? Not enough put back?”
“No, no, nothing like that. I’ve still got plenty saved up,” she answered. “It’s just...I wasn’t planning on wearing it to the dance....” Dorian’s mind stopped so dead in its tracks that he wondered if she could hear it. “I’m still planning on wearing it when we go out on Halloween, but I just didn’t think it’d be great to wear at school....” The silence and Dorian’s expression made her look even more nervous.
After some time, a sly smile crossed Dorian’s face and he chuckled to himself. The small mew of Felix was the only other sound in the room as the cat walked in and latched himself to his master. Reina, meanwhile, just stood there looking at her close friend just laugh. “Uh...have I missed something?”
“Nah, this’s on me,” he chuckled, grabbing Felix and cradling him. “I haven’t finished it yet, but now I can afford to procrastinate on it for a day or so. What a lovely relief....” The look on his face combined with the kitten in his arms gave Dorian the smug look of a classic spy villain in the making. Something about that look caused Reina to walk towards him, Dorian dropping Felix in preparation as she put her hands on either side of him on the wall, pinning him to it. “I knew you were going to do that....”
“You think that just because I don’t need it sooner that you just get to slack off?” she asked, a teasing edge to her voice. “I don’t think so....” He continued to smirk down at her which confused Reina. “You’re still going to work on it....”
“Or what?” he asked, leaning down. “You’ll spank me?” He chuckled. “Listen, Reina. I know that you know what I’m like, but this isn’t going to work.”
“Why not?”
“Because I know you’re just doing it to get a rise out of me.” She huffed as he wasn’t entirely wrong, but he didn’t seem to get flustered. “You know I’ll have it finished long before I need to. I literally have a line of stitches to get done on the corset, and we’ll be ready to go.” She released him from her pin, meeting his smirk.
“Still an arse,” she muttered.
“And I always will be,” he smirked. “But at least you and the others get the last laugh....” 263Please respect copyright.PENANAMq0EtyvSJ4
“Oh yeah, the date auction,” Reina said. “Good luck...if you’re nice to me, I might just be willing to save you from the girls who’d try to steal you....” It was her turn to smirk as Dorian’s cheeks turned pink and his breathing got a little heavier. “There’s the reaction I was looking for.”
