Dorian woke up late the next morning, having only gotten to bed around half passed midnight, but this wasn't unfamiliar for his streaming nights. He stretched languidly, yawning wide as his eyes tried to focus as much as they could.
"Morning, kitten," he murmured. It took his poor eyes a while to realize that Reina was gone from where she'd been laying. "Reina?" Reaching for his glasses, he was about to go and look for her before he heard it. The sound of something frying in a skillet, and a soft, beautiful voice singing. A sly smile crossing his face, he carefully creeped out of his room and downstairs to the kitchen. And he wasn't surprised with what he found.
Reina was stood there in the clothes she'd worn last night, hair pulled back as Felix clung to her side and Gizmo perched on her shoulder, attracted, as Dorian was, to the smell of frying bacon. Her voice flitted through the air as Dorian leaned against the doorframe, listening and enjoying quietly.
"Lose something over here, stud?" Reina asked, not looking at him.
"You never mentioned you could sing," he answered, walking over and kissing her good morning.
"You never asked," she smiled, playfully. He returned her smile and shrugged, unable to refute her point. He reached out towards the green onion and knife on the counter before Reina turned around, brandishing her spatula at him.
"Oh, no you don't," she ordered. "You are going to let me cook for you for a change..."
"But," Dorian began, but Reina just snapped the spatula at him again.
"No buts," she said, jerking her utensil towards the table. "Go and have a seat, and let me handle this...." He walked over to the table, resting a hand on his seat before pushing his luck a bit.
"Could I at least put the kettle on?"
"Sit!" Reina ordered. Not wanting to argue with a pretty girl with a weapon in her hand, he sat down. "Good boy...." Over the next couple of minutes, he watched from his seat, listening to her now softly singing to herself along with the mewling of the two cats who clung to her. Gentle sunlight filtered through the windows through the heavy clouds, but no one was truly worried about the weather. It wasn't like it snowed much in the UK anyway. It wasn't too much longer before she brough two plates over to the table and set one in front of Dorian.
He could feel her eyes on him as he ate, asking a question that he hoped she knew the answer to.
"I suppose that I can't ask you why you've never cooked for us before," he offered, swallowing. "I never really gave you the chance...."
"No, you didn't," she smiled. "But I'm glad you like it...even if it is just bacon, eggs and toast...."
"Hey, it's easier to mess up than you think," Dorian countered. "And on top of that, this is really good." They finished their breakfast in relative silence, being constantly bothered by kittens who were determined to get something. When they were finished, Dorian took Reina's plate stopping her before she could protest. "Hey, you cooked an amazing breakfast. Let me do the dishes...maybe go and get yourself a shower." With a smile, she stood up and left, leaving Dorian to his short work.
Shortly after he was done and heard the sound of the shower running, he poked his head inside, grabbed one of Reina's towels and his bathrobe before leaving and tossing the towel in the dryer. A while after he snuck it back onto the towel rack, Reina came out smiling and reached up to kiss his cheek as he went to shower. She assured him she'd do the same but she might linger a little more.
Around half an hour later, they found themselves putting the finishing touches on their next cosplays, Dorian making sure everything looked alright on his mannequin while Reina sat using the sewing machine. Dorian had just decided to keep his hair tied back and glasses on, resulting in him having to repeatedly pushing them back up his nose. He heard Reina chuckling but only answered with a smile.
"Finished," Reina sighed, shutting down the machine and pulling her project off the table.
"Excellent work," Dorian praised, checking the tears in his coat for loose strands. "You learn fast...."
"I had a great teacher," she noted, putting the dress on her own, tying the belt around the waist and checking it. He smiled over at her, not saying anything by wanting to seem humble. "How do they get stuff like this to poof out like it should?"
"There's a couple ways," Dorian began, walking over. "Some people use a stiff tutu, but I'd be more the type to give it bones. Like what I did for your corset...."
"Does that have to be done before you finish?" Reina sighed.
"For this, I don't think so," he assured, starting to dig through drawers. "I'm sure I've got some more of that wire...somewhere...." While he was digging around, he decided to ask what he'd been wanting to ask since that morning. "So...you can sing like an angel, excellent cook, and can do martial arts...what else can you do?"
"Are we about to play another round of questions?" Reina countered.
"If that's what it takes, then yes." She looked at him before turning back. "So...shall we dance?"
"There's not much else," she admitted, continuing to check her work. "I skate...."
"Roller or ice?"
"Both," Reina said. "It was something I picked up so that I'd have something that I could do anywhere." She stood up, apparently satisfied that her work was finished. "I also draw...pretty good if I can say so myself."
"Nothing wrong with a bit or pride in your work," Dorian huffed, smirking. "I mean, look at me at my cosplays...." She nodded before asking her own question.
"When were you going to tell me about you and your friends' channel?" Dorian chuckled.
"Honestly, I was hoping you'd find it on your own and then come ask me about it," he admitted. "I was really hoping to see your reaction to a few of them...."
"Zero Two and sad cat dance?" Reina wondered. All she got was a shrug and a playful smile. "I do have to admit that you've got some good moves in those hips of yours...." Dorian shrugged and went over to organize his drawers. Silence fell between them as Dorian aimlessly seemed to rifle through his supplies, trying to make sure everything was alright before noticing her expectant look.
"Ah, my turn," he said. "Hmm...I've honestly got nothing that I don't already know about you that I'd be curious about."
"Really?" Reina asked. "Nothing you want to ask? Nothing at all?"
"Nothing that I'd deem appropriate for how long we've been together," he amended. "Those'll be for a few years on, I think...."
"You sly devil, Dorian," she teased. All he offered was a shrug and a flirty smirk which was definitely returned. "Unless you'd like to talk about that now?"
