'You guys can go, I don't mind,' Maia says and hugs her friends. Penelope Ainsley, Maia's aunt, is visiting and the girls wanted to go shopping at the mall in the city. 'Are you sure? We can go another day,' Sookie asks her friend. 'Yeah, I'm sure. Bring me a present and it's all good,' Maia says, hugging her friends before going back inside the diner. 'Guess it's just us,' Clara says with a mischievous smile. 'I know,' Sookie smiles.
They hook their arms and walk to Sookie's house, to get the car. This is the second time they are alone during the holidays. It's weird to not invite Maia over. 'I'll drive,' Sookie says stopping in front of the car. 'Yeah... that's for the best,' Clara nervously chuckles. 'I'm going to get the keys,' Sookie says and quickly kisses Clara cheek. That makes them both blush.
Maia talks to her aunt, happy to see her, but also sad. 'What's wrong Maia?' Aunt Pen asks, putting a comforting hand on her niece's arm. 'Sookie, Clara and I were supposed to go to the mall. I didn't now you were visiting today,' Maia says, trying not to look sad. 'Oh, honey, you can go! I'm staying for two days, we can catch up tomorrow!' Penelope says hugging her niece. 'Really?' 'Yes! Now go!' Maia smiles and runs out of the door.
Maia runs to the Hanlin's house, but stops when she sees something happening she can't believe. Why did Sookie just kissed Clara on the cheek in a romantic way? Clara turns around with a big smile and red cheeks. Maia quickly hides behind a tree. Sookie runs back outside with the car keys. She opens the door for Clara and takes a seat herself. They say something Maia can't hear and then kiss on the lips. 'What?!' Maia says in a shocked whisper.
Sookie starts the car and starts driving, not noticing Maia behind the tree. 'We should get Maia the greatest gift.' Clara says. 'Probably the silliest, she would love that more,' Sookie laughs. 'True. I still smile when I see Valentine wearing that frog apron you got him,' Clara says with a laugh. 'He totally loves it,' Sookie smiles. 'He definitely does,' Clara smiles too, looking at her girlfriend who's concentrated at the road.
'Why are you hiding behind a tree?' Thomas asks the young shocked girl. 'I saw something I think I wasn't supposed to see,' Maia says, looking at her feet. 'What? You saw someone getting murdered or kidnapped?' Thomas asks surprised and worried. 'No, I saw Clara and Sookie kiss.' 'Oh.' 'Oh? That's all you have to say?' Maia asks confused. 'Yeah, well, Paul told me.' 'Paul told you what?' Maia frowns. 'That they are dating,' Thomas says, realising he shouldn't have said that. 'They are what?!' Maia shouts surprised. 'Aargh. I shouldn't have said that. It was their thing to say,' Thomas sighs walking to the house.
'Hold up!' Maia says and runs after him. 'I want to know more.' 'I can't tell you Maia.' 'Yes, you can!' 'No, go home Maia, your aunt is visiting,' Thomas says and closes the front door behind him. Maia turns around, walking back to her home. What else did they not tell her? They didn't tell her about Paul and Thomas or Paul and Alex. Maybe Maia did hear that right on the phone a couple months ago. Why didn't they tell her? Was she not trustworthy?
