Maia walks out of her class and bumps into someone. 'Watch out,' she says irritated. 'I'm sorry,' Mateo says. Maia looks up at the brown haired boy. 'Oh, I didn't notice it was you,' she nervously laughs. 'I wouldn't either, looking at the ground,' Mateo smiles softly. Maia awkwarly smiles. 'So, what are you doing tonight?' Mateo asks, blushing a little. 'I'm probably studying,' Maia says and opens the outside door. 'Why don't we go watch a movie?'
Maia slips on the stairs because of the ice. Mateo catches her. 'Careful,' he says and helps Maia up. 'I have an early class tomorrow,' Maia sadly says. 'I can come over to your dorm and we start watching a movie and when you want to go sleep or study, we'll remember the minutes and continue watching it some other time?' Mateo hopefully asks. 'I'm not having sex with you,' Maia boldly says, thinking what his question means. 'Who said anything about sex?!' Mateo asks confused. 'You weren't talking about sex?' Maia asks surprised. 'No! I just want to hang out with this girl I really like,' Mateo says. 'Oh, okay, then sure,' Maia smiles. 'Great! See you tonight,' Mateo says with a big smile. He kisses Maia's cheek before they part ways.
Maia runs to her dorm, drops her books on her desk, searches her phone and dials Sookie's number. 'Please pick up,' Maia whispers in panic. 'Maia! How are you?' Sookie happily asks. 'He's coming over later to watch a movie, like really watch a movie. What do I need to wear? What snacks do I need? What do I do, Sookie?' Maia almost cries. 'You should not wear anything too fancy. What about that that kaki overall and that yellow-orange pullover with black dots? Ooohh, and your boots!' Maia opens her closet to see the clothing combination her friend said. 'You are an angel, a hero and lifesaver,' Maia says relieved. 'Ha, my name's just Sookie Hanlin,' Sookie laughs.
'What movie are you going to watch?' Sookie asks while leaning against the wall in the hallway just outside her class. 'I don't know, I think he's going to bring some?' 'Maybe you need a few options just in case,' Sookie says. 'Yeah, you're right.' They both smile. 'If you need anything else, call back in two hours. My class had actually started ten minutes ago and I was already late,' Sookie says. 'Oh! I'm sorry! But thank you so much!' 'You're welcome! Bye.' 'Bye.' Sookie hangs up the phone and makes her way to the auditorium.
A few hours later, there's a knock on the door. Maia runs to the door and opens it with a smile. 'Oh,' she sighs, looking at Clara. 'Okay, nice to see you too,' Clara sarcastically says and walks past her to her room. 'You can't stay, I have a date.' Maia closes the door. 'With the coffee guy?' Clara asks putting her backpack down. 'Yes.' 'I'll leave you then. Call me when I can come back, so I don't have to be in the library for a whole night.' 'Thank you!' Maia says and briefly hugs her friend. 'You're welcome and be safe,' Clara says and leave the dorm.
Another knock on the door. Maia opens it. 'Okay, finally. I forget wich number your dorm was, so I went to knock on everyones door, untill I ran into your roommate,' Mateo awkwardly laughs. 'You could've called me, you did asked for my number before christmas break,' Maia says and closes the door behind him. 'Yeah... I didn't want to look stupid,' Mateo sighs. 'It's okay,' Maia smiles. Mateo smiles back.
'So, I brought... Pulp Fiction, Edward Scissorhands, Forrest Gump, Matilda, The Lion King, Hocus Pocus, Clueless, Little Women and Home Alone 2.' 'I hope you left some movies at Blockbuster?' Maia laughs. 'I didn't know what you would like, so I took a few,' Mateo shyly says. 'A Quentin Tarantina movie is never bad,' Maia says with a soft smile. 'Pulp Fiction it is then,' Mateo smiles and takes the disc out of his bag.
'What do you want to drink?' Maia asks Mateo who is turning on the tv. 'Water is fine,' he says. 'I do have coke and beers,' Maia says. 'Oh...,' Mateo says and turns around to look at the girl. 'Technically we are not old enough to drink.' 'Technically no one has to know,' Maia says with a raised eyebrow. 'I would love a coke, thank you,' Mateo awkwardly says. 'Okay.'
With their cokes and some chips, they settle on the couch to watch the movie. 'Mateo, you are not watching the movie,' Maia says, raising an eyebrow at the boy staring at her. 'I've seen it a hunderd times,' Mateo says with red cheeks. 'Then we can watch another movie,' Maia says, ready to take another disc out of the bag. Before she can reach the bag, Mateo pulls her closer. 'Oh, hi,' Maia shyly chuckles. 'Can I please kiss you?' Mateo asks in a whisper. 'Only because you asked so politely,' Maia smiles and kisses the young man.
Mateo gently deepens the kiss. 'I'm not having sex with you,' Maia mumbles between the kisses. 'I know, I'm just kissing you,' Mateo says and kisses her back. 'Good,' Maia whispers and throws her arms around Mateo's neck. 'I wanted to ask you out months ago, but I didn't have the courage,' Mateo says while they take a breath. 'Why?' Maia asks and takes his hand. 'I thought a beautiful girl like you, would already be dating,' Mateo shyly says, looking at their hands. 'If I was, I never would've flirted with you,' Maia says and kisses his cheek. Mateo smiles and kisses back the girl of his dreams.
