Soul blinked and looked around his body and limbs weightless as he floated, his breath catching before stopping completely.
He spun looking around for anything at all, anything only to see darkness. Pitch black.
“You seem to be lost again, Alex.”
Soul’s attention snapped to look around not seeing anything at all but the never ending void, a small chuckle filled the lifeless air.
“Right. Probably not the best place to chat while you’re floating in literally nothing, give me a second and I'll whip something up” the voice said, Soul blinked and looked around.
Why did people keep calling him Alex? It was starting to get annoying.
The void around him fogged before fading into a small cozy living room, “this should be good” the voice said before forming into the familiar form Soul recognized as Void, the god of dreams…
Soul eyed the cozy living room, the fabric couch, the lit fireplace, the chandelier hanging above the log rafters, the rug just below a glass coffee table that had cookies and candles setting atop it, all lit.
Void poured a steaming black liquid into a mug and turned to Soul “what happened to your wing?” Soul blurted, Void tensed before chuckling lightly.
“We’ll get to that after i ask how you keep finding me of all people? Especially after the reckless act you just pulled- you should be with Kristin, not me.” he said, removing his cloak and setting down his coffee to set it on a coat rack.
Soul eyed the one burnt to a crisp wing that dragged against the floor next to a fully healthy black feathered one before he realized Void took the cloak off.
He took it off.
Soul eyes the long viking braid that hung behind Void’s back, black as night with strands of purple. His mask was a way to happy smile and half closed eye holes, purple and blue heterochromatic eyes peered at Soul as he took in the sight.
“Alex?”
Soul froze.
“Why do you keep calling me that?” he snapped, Void frowned after taking a drink of his coffee.
“It’s your name is it not?”
Soul didnt answer, how the fuck was he supposed to know?
Void smiled gently and sat on the couch, Soul stood awkwardly until Void patted the couch next to him.
“Come sit.”
Soul frowned but did so, Void set his coffee down and leaned back into the cushions his legs tucked up under him eloquently but comfortably. Soul sighed.
“Well…I'm disappointed in the act you just pulled, but I might've done the same if I was you, just not as…bold. But, how do you keep ending up here?” he questioned, Soul frowned.
“I…I have no idea.”
Void raised an eyebrow.
“Do you remember anything?” he questioned, Soul shook his head and rubbed the aching pain slowly growing. “I see…that would make things difficult. Tell ya what. Since I'm here and I can supervise you, as well as make you travel to look at your past, I'll let you go back before we continue this conversation…” Void suggested, Soul frowned and bit his lip.
“Okay…”
Void held out his arms, burnt black with purple burns decorating the skin.
“Take my hands so i can help you along safely, you won't hear or see me. So just let your mind take you back, got it?”
Soul nodded, staring at Void’s arms before slowly placing his hands against his wrists, Void nodded reassuringly and let his fingers connect with Soul’s own wrists.
A shock of electricity shot through him and he gasped his eyes going white and his hand going inky black up to his forearms once more.
Void watches and frowns.
After all the work he had put into the dreamscape to keep Soul safe from Endorria’s damned egg and yet she still somehow got through, still somehow got control of him.
“Curse you Endorria.” he hissed under his breath, Soul’s body shuddered and he crumpled forward. Void caught him and smiled gently still holding onto his wrists, his eyes fluttering shut as he joined the visions.
"Magic doesn't exist, Alex."
Alex groaned and leaned against the podium "you are so negative!" He exclaimed, Ren rolled his eyes.
Alex turned to the orb "for someone who doesn't believe in magic you sure are intertwined with this whole Dimensional Travel thing" he said making dramatic hand gestures, Ren sighed.
"I'll believe it when I see it. "
Alex frowned and tapped the glass orb "yeah, right" he scoffed, Ren frowned. As Alex stood up right again he sighed.
"Maybe the portal isn't meant to be opened? " Ren froze.
"What did you say?"
"Maybe the portal isn't meant to be opened? " he repeated, Ren started to pace.
"Portal…"
"What? " Alex blinked before glancing at the orb.
"Portal. It's the perfect name! How'd you come up with it? " he asked, Alex stared before shrugging lightly.
"I don't know it just came to mind"
Ren limped over to him and towered over him causing Alex to back up slowly. "I must know. " he said.
Alex's eyes widened as his back hit the podium "Ren, I think you need a break" he spoke before something sparked. They both froze and whipped towards the orb.
It sparked again.
Ren stared at Alex as Alex stared at the now hovering and spinning orb. It spun so fast all you could see was gold before it disappeared entirely.
"W-what? Where did it go?" Ren questioned, Alex's fingers tingled before it appeared again and shot into the shape of an oval. Quartz crystals surrounding the edges of the portal as the middle glowed a deep and silky gold.
They stared before Ren scooped Alex up into a hug, "it works! " he said with a husky laugh, Alex stared before laughing nervously.

"To Alex! " Everyone said, raising glasses, clicking them and then drinking. Alex smiled. This birthday was nothing like the others but he was fine with that, until something exploded.
Everyone's heads shot up and towards the explosion, the basement. Ren chuckled nervously. "Must've forgot to put away my chemicals" he said before darting down stairs.
Alex sighed as everyone returned to normal, Alex slipped from his chair and slid down the stairwell railing before landing gracefully on the ground.
"Ren? " he said, turning. He froze in place when he saw Ren's hand be almost completely swallowed by the portal "REN! " He shrieked running towards it, he latched on and within seconds he was sucked in and the portal was gone.

"ALEX! "
Alex jerked awake to see nothing but darkness. "Ren?" He groaned, no answer. He froze remembering what had happened.
"REN! "
"God, quiet down Alex" Ren said sitting nearby, Alex's eyes widened.
"Ren! Thank god, where are we? " he questioned, Ren frowned.
"In the rift of time and space… " he said, Alex blinked confused.
"We're stuck. "
Alex froze before sighing, "could be worse I guess… " he said, Ren eyed him.
"Karma-"
Alex looked at Ren.
Karma was his nickname for Ren, but Ren rarely used it lately.
"Can I say something? Since we're basically stuck here" he said, Alex nodded.
Ren ran his fingers through his medium length black hair, "I think i'm in love. " he said, Alex raised a blue eyebrow.
"Why bring this up now? " he stated, Ren looked Alex dead in the eyes.
Ren locked eyes with him "i'm in love with you Alex, I'm gonna be honest when you first joined this stupid server I thought you were obnoxious and annoying… but after living together for so long it changed my mind, you've helped me so much. " He explained, Alex stared his pupils growing bigger by the second.
"You… '' Alex coughed and gasped for air as tears threatened his eyes ``why now? When we're on the brink of death?" Alex said, Ren stared before limping towards him.
"Wait, you- do you feel the same? " he questioned, Alex wiped his eyes as Ren offered him a hand. Alex took it and stood up only for his eyes to flash red.
"We can still be together… trust me"
Ren's eyes widened in horror before Alex held his face in his hands, kissing him gently, Ren flinched as blue and white tendrils of light wrapped around them pushing them together.
"Ale-"
Then it went black. Alex returned to normal and he fell gripping his chest heaving and gasping for air.
"What just- Ren? REN!?" He screamed, his eyes dripping with tears, he stood weakly before the ground below him cracked. He gasped and then fell.
He clenched his eyes shut in terror and curled into a ball before landing hard on the ground. He coughed and a girl his age raised an eyebrow before offering a hand, "you alright?" She asked.
He looked up and took it standing with a wobble

Endorria stepped through, then Void then Alex. As they stepped out they stepped out onto lush grass surrounded by a field of flowers and animals.
A parrot flew by gently landing on Alex's shoulder, he flinched but chuckled as it chirped and then flew off into the crystal like sky.
Void turned slowly taking in the view, Endorria let out a breath and smiled as she stretched in the sun.
"This place is gorgeous" Void said, Alex smiled gently.
“This..this is more than gorgeous, it’s a paradise” he chuckled to himself, Void smiled and twirled letting the breeze catch his sleeves.
Endorria grinned and grabbed them both, linking arms with them. “C’mon, my fellow gods. We must voyage beyond to find who we truly are” she said, Void and Alex chuckled at the random formalness of the statement. They walked arms linked through the field every once in a while stopping to smell the flowers or giving them random names.
Alex stopped short when he spotted a flower that hung low over its other blooms, it shone white in the sunlight and Alex picked it gently.
“We had something similar to this back in Poloriian.” He said, Void walked over, stuffing the rose in his hand behind his ear. Endorria eyed the flower.
“It’s so…pretty.” Alex spoke, Endorria eyed him before frowning with a look of pity.
“Name it.” she said, Alex looked up at her and she smiled gently almost reassuringly.
“How about…Lily of the Valley?” he questioned, and she smiled brightly.
“A beautiful name” she replied, Void nodded in agreement.
As they continued to walk they chatted about their homelands, they talked about the joy and fun they had before falling through the portal. Well, except for Endorria, she was perfect all the way through.

"Where are we now then? "
"I don't know… some dimension lightyears away from Poloriian. " he replied, Alex could almost feel Ren smile the area around his mouth tingling.
"It's beautiful" he said, Alex Tensed.
"You can see it? " he questioned, Ren laughed his familiar warm silky laugh.
"We're in the same body, Alex. Of course I can" he said, Alex chuckled gently.
Right.
"Are you smiling? " Alex asked, his mouth tingling like crazy, Ren sighed.
"Yes," he replied. "How'd you know? "
"I can feel it… it's weird. Like a tingling sensation… " Alex explained, Ren chuckled.
"Interesting"

"Stop doing that! " he called, Alex smirked and she disappeared.
"Stop doing what? " she teased as she leaned against a tree behind them, Void rolled his eyes and lunged for her. She laughed, dodging and disappearing before hiding behind Alex.
"Na na na boo boo~" she stuck her tongue out, Void growled but laughed and Alex turned to lunge at her. She giggled and appeared on top of the tree, her legs swinging back and forth playfully. She waved with her fingers with a smile.
Then there was a loud gust, Alex braced himself and Endorria stared "where did-" she was cut off when she was swooped off the tree.
She screamed and Void grinned carrying her above the cliffs edge, her scream turned into bursts of laughter and smiles. He grinned and dove towards the water, Endorria's eyes widened and she kicked and shoved.
"No! Stop! Void! " she screamed, Alex stared noticing the steam starting to rise from her skin as he climbed down.
"VOID! "

"Magik." Endorria said, startling them, Alex nodded.
"That's why there was war… "
Something flashed and Alex flinched and pulled the book called 'Theorium' out of his bag only for it to now be replaced with his name and a seahorse and Trident on the front.

“ALEX. YOU BETTER GET YOUR ASS INSIDE RIGHT NOW!” a deep voice screamed, Alex flinched and sprinted through the rain from his home.
“ALEXANDER”
Footsteps sloshed in puddles and mud, one set turning to two before he was slammed to the ground, the air in Alex’s chest being choked from him in one swift movement.
Alex coughed and wheezed as he stared foggy eyed up at the large man atop him, a saw in hand.
“If you don’t put those away I'll just cut them off myself.” he growled, Alex’s eyes widened in horror as the man grabbed his horns.
Pain shot through him and he cried out in pain as he kicked and screamed, the man let out a low growl and covered his mouth as he lifted the hand held saw to Alex’s horns.
Tears streamed down his cheeks as his cries for help became muffled, a bottle smashed next to him and the scent of alcohol and cow shit reeked off the man causing his tears to sting.
“Little shit.” he hissed pulling back on the saw against his horns, Alex clawed at the ground and screamed in pain only for his neck to be grabbed and his face to be shoved into the mud. He hiccuped against the soggy dirt and eventually gave up his eyes going white before someone kicked the man aside and pinned him to the ground.
The sounds of skin hitting bone caught him off guard as he stood with wobbly feet, his clothes covered in mud. He looked around before spotting Ren sitting atop the man, his father.
Alex’s eyes trailed to the saw and then the knife that Ren had pulled from his father’s belt throwing it aside, Alex’s breath stopped and it almost seemed like the world froze.
Soul gasped glitching all of a sudden into Alex’s body as Alex picked up the knife, twirling it in his hand Alex and Soul glitched into one then two before Ren was pushed aside and the view became foggy.
Soul glitched out and watched from afar as Alex stood slowly blood coating him and mixing in the mud, Ren stared in horror from the ground.
When Soul glitched back he was staring at Alex’s hands…HIS hands. Covered in dark blood, the color of his eyes. The hands flickered between all black to blood coated.

Alex’s breathing quickened and he stumbled backwards hitting his head on a rock and then blacking out completely to the sound of rain hitting the wet ground…

Soul gasped his eyes flying open, Void flinched as Soul stumbled to his feet and went to the fire rubbing his eyes.
“What the fuck…” he mumbled, Void stared still recovering from what he just witnessed.
Soul grabbed at his horns and gasped for air as they solidified, his fingers met with cold blue bone and he sighed in relief as he let his hands fall against his hair. Fingers brushed against cold metal beneath shaggy layers of hair and he froze.
He looked up at the mirror above the fireplace and moved his hair to see two gold cuffs around both bases of his horns, a chain held them together as a single small sapphire adorned them both.
His fingers started to tremble and his breathing quivered as he steadied himself on the fireplace. The things he just saw. All of it was his past.
Soul covered his mouth as the feeling of vomit slid up his throat, a trash bucket appeared next to him as Void watched sympathetically. Soul fell to his knees and hurled, coughing in between gags.
“As expected, you haven’t gone that far back…of course it’d make you sick” Void said with a frown as he avoided making eye contact with Soul, he grabbed a rag and water and sat on the couch before gesturing for Soul to join him.
“Come lay.” he said, patting his legs, Soul hesitated but weakly made his way over.
He laid across the couch, his head resting in God's lap, Void gently patted the cold cloth across Soul’s head and he relaxed. Void smiled gently to himself as Soul closed his eyes.
“Are you feeling alright?”
Soul’s eyes flickered up to the ones peering through slits and he bit his cheek not giving a response, “I thought as much…” he said quietly, Soul let his eyes fall shut again before breaking the silence in a soft tone.
“You know why I keep ending up here don't you…?” he said, Void sighed.
“I do…”
Soul raised a hand and tapped the wood of Void’s mask “you had that stupid looking mask in the visions to…and Endorria…” he trailed off and Void frowned.
“She’s corrupted, '' was when we met her. She’s using you…just like Dream tried to. She knows how much power you have…I created the dreamscape to keep you away from her…” he said, Soul frowned.
“But she got through…” he finished, Void modded and Soul looked at Void. “she was going to use you too. So she could control everything, taking me was just part of it…” he said gently, Void shrugged.
“It’s possible.”
It was quiet for a bit and Soul brushed his fingers against the feather’s on Void’s wings, Void shivered.
“I don't want to be like this anymore, Void…violent. And…like this. I mean it’s satisfying and feels good and it’s gross…whoever Alex is i want to go back to that…” Soul mumbled, Void draped the rag over his head and frowned beneath his mask.
“You’re only like that because of the egg, you touched it meaning Endorria has partial control, her personality is seeping into you through that touch…when your hands go black…that's because of her.” he said gently, Soul frowned.
“Redemption is a thing…you’ll reach it eventually, Endorria just needs to vanish that's all…if she does, you’re old self, Alex returns to this body, this timeline not the old timeline and she disappears from the past like she never existed.
That's her role in our lives…” Void explained, Soul frowned as Void played with the tufts of hair that curled around his horns.
“But…what happens to us?”
Void lifted his mask ever so slightly revealing black lips curling up in a small smile. “We still exist, we’re still friends, everything that happened with her still happens, she just doesn’t exist, it’s just us. I’m not sure we’ll remember after it all happens but I assume we won't…” he said, Soul frowned.
“Oh…”
Void sighed and let his head fall back against the couch.
“I have to send you back, but I don't want to…it’s so lonely here in the void” he chuckled, Soul frowned and sat up and laid his head against Void’s shoulder.
“Aren’t I dead though?”
Void smirked “you’re a god, gods don't die, silly.” he joked, Soul blinked.
Right. He forgot about that part.
“Not unless they use a spell” Void sighed “but i do have to send you back soon…Time here moves a lot quicker than it does in the essempii, i’m sure you’re club and you’re friends are worried.” he said.
Soul scowled and cuddled up next to Void.
“Can’t we stay like this…? Just a little longer?” he said in a meek voice, Void bit his lip but pulled Soul close to cuddle.
“Sure…” he said, tangling his fingers in Soul’s hair and braiding it gently, Soul relaxed at his touch and yawned.
“Thank you…” he whispered, Void stopped braiding for a moment before smiling gently.
“No..thank you.”
