Soul’s eyes snapped open and he groaned, bright white light blinding him as he sat up and rummaged around to feel the ground.
No cobble.
Where was he?
“Enjoy your own personal nightmare.” a slender, purple figure stood in white light as if they were glowing before they walked away being enveloped by it.
The light vanished and in front of him was a small meadow, flowers littered the tall brass and cattails near a small waterfall.
Wait… he knew this place…
“Soul!”
Soul whipped around to see Wilbur dragging along Quackity the grass.
Soul’s eyes widened and lit up, lifting his foot to take a step, something glitched and Wilbur and Quackity were gone.
He felt different…
“Alex~” A voice practically sang.
Soul looked up to see an older but gorgeous woman standing, a basket in hand as she held her hat onto her Blonde hair.
She smiled towards him “ready to go?”
Soul chuckled and ran towards her “your home!”
Wait. he wasn't doing this…no. He was still him…just, younger.
She laughed and dropped the basket pulling him into a hug.
“Of course, silly”
When he pulled away she giggled and handed him a lily of the valley, “i brought one home from Yttria, i know you love them” she said, he smiled and took the flower.
A lily…
Moments after, blood streaked past and the woman vanished. Soul stood there staring at the ground, his eyes wide in horror, the lily dropped from his hand splattered in blood.
He’d had this vision before…but in his own view it was much more horrifying.
The woman didn't vanish…she was laying below him at his feet, blood dripping from her stomach.
Her intestines hanging out, her heart gone and ribcage snapped in random places. Soul's breath quivered and he fell to his knees, tears spilling in an instant as he breathing became ragged and he reached out for her frantically trying to help her. Taking off his jacket and then dropping it in defeat before letting his hands fall in the pool of blood by her torso.
Her mangled…torso..
“m-mom…MOM!” he sobbed, Soul’s breath hitched.
No wonder lilies were so important to him… he never lost his memory…he just chose to forget the trauma.
The trauma…
He raised his hands from the blood and stared at them before glancing up, spotting someone at the edge of the woods. A woman.
No.
An Ender.
Black hair and glowing purple eyes, particles surrounded her and she smiled sweetly before vanishing.
Soul’s eyes widened in terror.
Endorria.
“SOUL!”
Voices echoed, they sounded so close. Yet no one was there.
Cold fingers slid up the base of Soul’s neck and he was pulled into a tight grasp, he flinched and moved rapidly. Two curved knives slid into his hands and extended into smaller blade like scythes.
Slicing the air, Endorria’s neck slashed and spewed before she fell to the ground in a gooey glob of black tar.
He breathed heavily and stared at his tar covered blades before something opened beneath him and he fell, yells of terror caugth him off guard.
At first he thought they were his own until he looked around the mirror like void and spotted Wilbur and Quackity beyond the glass.
“WIL! QUACKITY!” he screamed, they didn't hear him as he continued to fall.
With a hard landing on wood flooring he looked up to see a male in white with gold accents glance back at him. His black hair fell on both sides of his face framing his jaw perfectly.
His bright blue eyes shimmered in the dim lighting.
“You alright, Alex?” he questioned in a smooth tone, Soul’s cheeks pinkened.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry just tripped is all”
The man laughed.
“Watch yourself, my basement isn’t exactly the cleanest. You’re bound to trip over something” he joked, Soul nodded and eyed the portal that Ren was standing by.
“So what happened?” he questioned, the male looked up from his book to the portal that swirled and iridescent diamond color.
“Not sure, I guess the portal just broke and fixed itself…which is odd.”
Soul eyed the portal before he caught his eyes drifting to Ren.
Right. He was in Akex’s body in his timeline, he couldn’t control anything so this was all him.
“Weird.” Soul paused. “You know…i learned something when i was a kid…” he said walking over to join Ren, Ren didn’t glance up from scribbling down notes.
“Most kids do, Alex. get to the point.”
Soul frowned.
Alex had a weird taste in his mind.
“Every being in the world has a shadow, and a psychical form” He smiled slightly. “It’s not always easy to find your shadow. But it’s usually someone you’re close to, it could be your brother, your sister…someone random on the street who you had a second encounter with…anyone. But it’s different for born gods…they know who they are ever since birth, because they have a sort of mind connection with them” Soul explained.
Ren slowly looked up from his book and looked Alex dead in the eyes.
“Is there a reason you’re telling me this? You should be upstairs celebrating your 17th.” he said confused and slightly concerned, his brows drawn together.
“Shhh, Ren. That portal…was never meant to be opened, and yet it also was supposed to be because everyone has a destiny beyond their home realm. And you my dear~” Soul grabbed Ren’s hand and smiled up at him.
“Are my shadow.”
Ren’s eyes flickered with confusion and anger.
“Are you insulting me?” he snapped, Soul’s eyes widened and he chuckled.
“No. I mean you are a part of me. Ren, or you were. We were split at birth.” he chuckled.
Ren ripped his hand from Soul’s.
“Alex. stop.”
It went quiet after the sudden rise in Ren’s voice, a small breeze erupted from the portal and Soul’s eyes narrowed.
“My name is not Alex. But while we’re here. I’ll show you the prophecy and magic that you’ve never believed in” he snapped.
Soul squirmed in his little space in the back of Alex’s mind.
He knew what was about to happen.
Alex/Soul grabbed Ren and shoved him towards the portal, Ren’s eyes widened as he tripped and caught himself before the portal sucked him in.
“ALEX!” he reached out desperately and a sinister grin broke out on Soul’s lips as he reached back.
Ren stared in horror as he tried to grab Soul’s stiff outstretched hand before he yanked his hand back, and Ren was enveloped in the diamond liquid.
Soul hummed, grabbing a black book and jumping into the portal after him.
Souless gasped as he tripped out onto wet grass in pouring rain.
Another nightmare.
Endorria. This is getting annoying.
A door slammed behind him as he felt his feet lift in a run of panic, rain slapped his face hard and mud threatened to make him topple.
“ALEX. YOU BETTER GET YOUR ASS INSIDE RIGHT NOW!” a deep voice screamed, Soul flinched and sprinted through the rain from his home.
“ALEXANDER”
Footsteps sloshed in puddles and mud, one set turning to two before he was slammed to the ground, the air in Soul’s chest being choked from him in one swift movement.
Souless coughed and wheezed as he stared foggy eyed up at the large man atop him, a saw in hand.
“If you don’t put those away I'll just cut them off myself.” he growled, Soul’s eyes widened in horror as the man grabbed his horns.
Pain shot through him and he cried out in pain as he kicked and screamed, the man let out a low growl and covered his mouth as he lifted the hand held saw to Soul’s horns.
Tears streamed down his cheeks as his cries for help became muffled, a bottle smashed next to him and the scent of alcohol and cow shit reeked off the man causing his tears to sting.
“Little shit.” he hissed, pulling back on the saw against his horns, Souless clawed at the ground and screamed in pain only for his neck to be grabbed and his face to be shoved into the mud. He hiccuped against the soggy dirt and eventually gave up his eyes going white before someone kicked the man aside and pinned him to the ground.
The sounds of skin hitting bone caught him off guard as he stood with wobbly feet, his clothes covered in mud. He looked around before spotting Ren sitting atop the man, his father.
Soul’s eyes trailed to the saw and then the knife that Ren had pulled from his father’s belt throwing it aside, Soul’s breath stopped and it almost seemed like the world froze.
Soul gasped glitching all of a sudden out of Alex’s body as Alex picked up the knife, twirling it in his hand Alex and Soul glitched into one then two before Ren was pushed aside and the view became foggy.
Soul glitched out and watched from afar as Alex stood slowly blood coating him and mixing in the mud, Ren stared in horror from the ground.
When Soul glitched back he was staring at Alex’s hands…HIS hands. Covered in dark blood, the color of his eyes. The hands flickered between all black to blood coated.
Soul stumbled backward, his eyes wide in horror as he hyperventilated and clutched his chest in pain.
He killed someone. He killed so many people.
And not because of endorria.
No. it was because of her.
Her and that…man he called father.
His mother wouldn't be lost if Endorria hadn't found him and killed in front of him. If his mother was still there his father wouldn’t have started drinking.
This was ALL. Endorria.
He let out a low growl and grabbed the knife from the ground and held it in both hands before slamming it into the ground. The glass shattered and he fell through.
Taking a deep breath and ignoring the blood on his hands he whispered almost as quiet as silence itself, a bright circle took shape and he was pulled back in.
Catching himself against the cobblestone wall back in his prison cell he gasped for breath.
“HOW-”
He rolled his eyes and tuned out her voice, arms wrapped around Soul’s waist as he was pulled into a tight embrace.
He didn’t have to look to know it was Wil. the chilling nicotine and whiskey scented breath hitting his neck, and the tattoo on the inside of his wrist that said “my unfinished symphony” gave it away.
“I'm so sorry…” he whispered gently against the shell of his ear.
Soul scowled.
Right. He’d seen everything.
“Quackity…he can’t stay here. We have to get him out.”
Quackity dusted off his shirt and scowled, “wil, getting a terrorist out of prision isn’t exactly the easiest.” he said, Wil scowled.
“Just tell Sam you’ll keep him under surveillance at your place.”
“My place?” panicked eyes flickered to Soul. ‘He killed people’ he mouthed, Soul’s eyes softened in sadness, fighting against tears wilbut mouthed back ‘with good reason.’
“Guys. don't. Just…leave me here. I’ll be fine.” he choked out.
Quackity and Wilbur exchanged glances before Quackity sighed.
“Fine. but you’re not allowed.”
“Mkay~” Wil mused, Quackity glared and gently took Soul’s wrists cuffing them.
“Just for now.” he mumbled, Soul nodded.
He could feel the change in emotion towards Soul, Wilbur smiled and followed behind.
“I’ll slip out back, so it’s not suspicious,” he said.
Soul and Quackity nodded and watched as Wil walked away.
“Sorry…” Quackity mumbled.
Soul didn’t say anything. He knew what he was apologizing for. And he didn't need a pity party.

Soul looked out the window of the carriage that him and Quackity sat in. It was silent as rain drizzled down from the sky harder than what he remembered. It’d been at least a solid month since he’d been in that cell, and all it took was for some bitch to make him see his trauma to get him out. And he’d never been in a carriage either, he usually relied on Coal to get around…but it wasn’t bad. As he stared at the sky Quackity took small glances in his direction.
The humidity in the air was pretty refreshing compared to the smell of mold and blood from frequent beatings, and the smell of burning objects in the huge ass prison he was stuck in.
Keys clinked and jarred Soul from his daze, when he turned to see Quackity pick out a key on a ring and take Soul’s wrist’s undoing the cuffs around them. They were scarred from the frequent trips out of his cell and bruised from this recent trip out of the jail entirely.
Soul rubbed them and let out a sigh of relief.
Quackity stuffed them in his satchel along with the keys and glanced up at Soul who had glanced away but turned back when he felt eyes on him.
“If you have something to say, just say it.” Soul deadpanned staring out the window.
Quackity fiddled with his suspenders and glanced out the window.
“What we saw…you…that wasn't you right?” he questioned, Soul let his head drop hair covering his facial features as he smiled gently.
“You’re scared aren’t you?”
It went silent and he looked up at Quackity amused, the scars on his face from what Quackity put him through were visible. Pink and rigged.
A sharp breath was drawn and Quackity bit his lip.
“I guess…a bit. I never expected some…terrorist to turn out being a mass serial killer. Im assuming you were behind the murders in Pogtopia as well?” he questioned. Soul shrugged and let his forehead touch the cold glass.
“Something like that…although it was against my consent in pogtopia…the other tines…” his voice caught as the memories threatened him, his eyes widened and he squeezed his eyes shut, blinking back his rising tears.
A soft hand flinched but gently touched his hand.
“Hey…you don't have to, you know. Think about it.” he said, Soul stared at Quackity’s hand, a small blush touching his cheeks.
“I know what you went through…at least sort of…even if i wasn’t ever meant to know..” Quackity said gently, Soul’s eyes didn’t tear from Quackity’s hand until Quackity realized what he was doing and pulled his hand away swiftly.
“Sorry.”
“Dont.”
“Ok.”
It was quiet for a bit as Soul watched water droplets roll down the window, Hills of grass and fields of flowers rolled by. He never realized how far away Las Nevadas was from Pogtopia. He’d taken this path multiple times but it was always within a day, this time it seemed like days.
Oh right…time. He had the ability to fuck with time. Maybe that's why…
Soul’s eyes fluttered shut and he rested his head against the window letting the sweet melody of the rain put him to sleep, Quackity watched him gently and couldn’t help but smile sadly at the sight.
He looked so peaceful when he wasn’t awake…when he was awake he was violent, cocky and way too open about everything. When he was asleep it was quiet…he looked harmless, the scars on his face caused Quackity to frown.
If Soul hadn’t blown up Pogtopia and killed those citizens the way he did, everything would be fine…he wouldn’t have had to hurt him.
He never hated Soul, in fact every time he ever laid a hand on Soul he regretted it in an instant. He could never hate Soul…Soul was quirky and fun when he wasn’t on edge and murderous, something abojt Soul had drawn him in when they first met.
Maybe it was the fact that Soul had been mentally stupid enough to fall in love with a criminal? No. no.
It was the fact that Soul was unique. He wasn’t right in the head that’s for sure, but he was loyal and compassionate…and hurt…
The carriage ran over a large bump and Soul fell forwards, still asleep.
Quackity caught him gently and stared before pulling him onto his bench and laying his head on his lap.
He felt comfortable with Soul, like if he needed Soul would have his back or would love him unconditionally.
Wait. What was he saying? He’d already told himself to stay away from relationships. Not after Karl and Sap.
Soul stirred and Quackity softly curled a strand of Soul’s black hair around his finger before swiping it behind Soul’s pointy ear.
Soul let out a soft groan and turned gently cuddling up against him, Quackity’s body tensed and he stared down at Soul. silence enveloped them and Quackity relaxed into the atmosphere, falling asleep soon after.
“HEY.” A jarring kick to Quackity’s seat shot him awake and he looked down at Soul’s foot which was inches from his crotch on the wood, Quackity trailed his eyes up the slender leg to see a smirk placed on Soul’s lips underneath his mask.
Mas..? no…this was a dream. Why was he in this…of all people.
“If you’re gonna keep staring, take a picture it’ll last longer.” Soul cooed shifting so he could lock eyes with Quackity even as Quackity stared down at the carleted floorboard of the carriage once more.
“I- staring?”
Soul sighed and smiled gently “you think i didn’t notice?” he purred, Quackity’s eyes widened as he locked eyes with Soul’s red ones which peered through his mask.
“Shut the fuck up” Quackity snapped, Soul smirked the tip of his boot moved to Quackity’s chin moving him so he was sitting up and looking him in the eyes, as Soul stood he licked his lips.
“Make. me.” he growled, Quackity’s eyes narrowed and he gestured to the mask.
“Take that dumb thing off.” he sighed, Soul frowned and sat down again, arms crossed and pouting. “Why are you pouting?”
Soul hummed and moved, Quackity flinched when he realized what he was doing.
“What’re you-”
“Shhh~” Soul lifted his mask up gently “you at least owe me this much…” he said somberly, Quackity’s eyes widened as Soul straddled his lap and kissed him softly. The feeling of soft lips on his caught him off guard, his body tensed as he slowly raised a hand to remove Soul’s mask.
The mask clattered to the ground as Quackity gripped Soul’s hair responding to the sweet kiss which soon turned desperate and lustful.
Soul moaned into the kiss sending soft vibrations through Quackity, A hand slipped to Soul’s waist as Quackity pulled him closer against him.
Soul pulled from the kiss and slid to the floor, his hands trailing up Quackity’s inner thighs. Quackity sat back, dazed as Soul unzipped his slacks.
As soon as Quackity realized what was happening he grabbed Soul’s head gently and stared.
“We can-”

Quackity choked and woke up with a start as Soul stepped out of the carriage “we’re here dipshit.” he snapped, Quackity blinked bleary eyed before he caught sight of the eiffel tower monument.
Oh.
“I noticed” he said pushing past Soul, Soul rolled his eyes.
They walked silently into the bustling city of Las Nevadas, people stopped their eyes lingering on Soul as he shifted and walked dangerously close to Quackity, his lips brushing the shell of Quackity’s ear and causing him to stop in his tracks.
“I'm assuming I'm not particularly welcome here?” he questioned, Quackity glanced over at him and scowled.
“Not exactly.” he said before grabbing Soul’s wrist “come on. You’re wasting my time.” he hissed dragging Soul to
Soul hummed amused as he was tugged up large steps to the huge curved casino. “I'm wasting your time, hm? Doing what? Living?” he purred, Quackity’s cheeks pinkened and his grip tightened on Soul’s wrist.
“Can you shut the hell up.” he hissed, Soul’s eyes widened the sudden snap and grip of his hand sending a shot of electricity through his body. He shivered and looked away, Quackity stiffened before softening “sorry…” he mumbled.
Soul stared at the ground covering his mouth in embarrassment. Something about being told what to do in an aggressive way turned him on, Quackity dropped Soul’s wrist and the warmth vanished.
“Follow me.”
Soul nodded trailing behind him in shame, when they reached the top of the casino to Quackity’s little penthouse area Soul eyed the familiar area with interest.
Papers and books lightly littered the floor of Quackity’s living room, his sword and holster aimlessly strewn on the couch. Multiple bottles of empty red wine and glasses sat on the coffee table, Soul raised an eyebrow.
What the fuck is wrong with this dude….?
Quackity put away his ax and glanced at Soul before gesturing to a door at the opposite end of the hallway, near the kitchen and large bathroom.
“That’s the room you’ll be staying in. I’m going to be doing some work so please try not to be too…” he trailed off.
“Loud?”
Quackity nodded and Soul shrugged, dragging himself to the room, “I’ll let you know when dinner is ready” he called after him, Soul frowned.
Dinner?
Did the man really think he ate?
The last time he ate was…well….more than a few weeks ago. He refused to eat the jail food, but that was on him. His stomach wasn’t also the best at reminding him that he’s hungry.
Soul shut the bedroom door behind him and sighed looking around the room, it was big but not huge. A king sized bed sat in the middle of the room, cotton sheets and pillows with lace decor littered the bed in an organized way.
He threw himself onto it and groaned.
Gods, he forgot what it felt like to lay in an actual bed.
Within seconds his eyes had found their way shut, shutting him out from the world as he fell asleep in the silent room.
The only thing to be heard was gentle rustling of papers from beyond the door, the door barely opened letting in a warm sliver of light before shutting again.
Did he leave something for him?
Soul sighed and drifted into the darkness.

“Soul…” A gentle voice shook Soul awake, he groaned and turned to see Quackity standing there.
“Dinners done.” He said abruptly, Soul blinked a few times before nodding. Quackity left and Soul pushed himself off the bed to his feet. He mumbled something under his breath as he made his way out of the room to the kitchen.
The living room was clean now, the bottles of wine and glasses gone. Papers stacked nicely and books stacked as well.
Weird.
Quackity sat leaned back in his chair chewing on a roll with his nose stuck in a book and Soul sat down eyeing the food. Something about it looked unappealing to him, but he was also starving.
It was silent as they ate and Quackity glanced up at him a couple of times before Soul sighed.
“What.” He snapped.
Quackity’s eyes narrowed in an instant.
“What do you mean, what.?” He snapped back, Soul glared.
“Why the fuck do you keep staring at me.”
Quackity shot him a look.
“You know if you’re that scared that I'm gonna jump up and kill you, you can trust me on this. I only kill people when they least expect it.” he growled, Quackity glared. 79Please respect copyright.PENANAfY10AlLL3E
“But you could be using that as a reassurance tactic to get that opportunity from me and I'm not taking that chance,” he hissed, setting his book down. Soul chuckled and chewed a piece of his food.79Please respect copyright.PENANAirhAscil2c
“Wow, look how intelligent you are, I bet you have every exit in this penthouse mapped out. And every possible move I could make calculated, don't you?” Soul purred, leaning over the table slightly. “Look at you. You’ve got me all figured out” he whispered, Soul rolled his eyes.
“Why are you letting me stay here, anyways?” he questioned leaning back and finishing his food, Quackity raised an eyebrow as he did the same.
“Would you rather have me tie you up in the basement and torture you?” he questioned, a sly smile plastered itself to Soul’s lips. 79Please respect copyright.PENANAzdUVtlHSmD
“I’d actually quite like that, but in what way are you torturing me?” he mused, Quackity’s face flushed.79Please respect copyright.PENANAZZazStVCH3

“What are the conditions?” he asked, a look of glee appeared on Quackity’s features. 79Please respect copyright.PENANALeHEUiFcAN
“I want you to help me find the key to that book. And then I want you to help me destroy it. Both the key and the book.” he said, Soul scowled. 79Please respect copyright.PENANAKDu7ysPQhY
“And what if the book is important?” 79Please respect copyright.PENANA3Le5cak20S
