After escaping the incident that transpired in the frost crater.184Please respect copyright.PENANAgsX3W304hR
The 4 Newcastle Agents are on their way
back to the headquarters.
Meanwhile, Xel'Ryah decided to do some research to find out what was actually found in the frost crater.
After clearing up most of the ice, Xel'Ryah was able to get a more clear view of what's inside the chunk of ice.
It was humanoid but nothing like anything that's currently around today. it was in a kneeling position, perhaps it was meditating before it got froze solid.
The most prominent feature was the large tendrils sticking out of its back. Which was strange since the only history that was kept of the Primordials always said they were encased in gilded armor that was powered by the sun, or as the story goes anyway.
This one however... it's vastly different. The 'armor' it had was crude, almost like actual bone. And there was what looks like flesh underneath the bone.
Wether or not this... thing was a Primordial, it still had something that may be worthwhile.
As Xel'Ryah continued her research, Sparrow walked in with the usual smug on his face.
"You're quite infatuated with this thing aren't you?" He laughed .
Xel'Ryah gave him a glare.
"Don't mock me." She replied.
"I'm just joking." he said raising his hands, putting them behind his head
"I can tell. It doesn't look very threatening to be honest."
Xel'Ryah stared at him, "You do realize what this thing is right?"
He shrugged "What does it matter if it is dangerous? We've handled much scarier things than this." He chuckled lightly, "Besides, do you even think it is what you think it is? it could just be a home decoration,"
"If it is," Xel'Ryah sighed, "I'm taking home with me,"
Sparrow looked up slightly surprised, "Really?"
She nodded.
Sparrow then let out an exasperated sigh, "I hope that's worth it."
Meanwhile, Alysia was sitting on a seat. She looking up anything there was about Primordials.
Kel'Zal was close by, usually she wouldn't care about it but even she was curious. Who wouldn't be if they managed to dig up a literal killing machine.
"Even you huh?" Kel'Zal said.
"Huh?" Alsyia looked at her, "What do you mean?"
"Even you're getting all curious about this... Primordial thing," Kel'Zal stated.
"I am but I'm not getting much though," Alysia responded, "There's like little to no actual history, only stories and theories,"
"How much can you find out?" Kel'Zal asked curiously.
"Well I just got what I can managed to scrounge up, even thats not much," Alsyia answered, "What I do know is that, they were made during the 2nd Hybrid Rebellion. When they were losing the majority of control of the solar system to our ancestors, they took everything they had and used it in a secret project of some sorts. Then the Primordials were made."
"What's scary about them was, at that time, all the Hybrids were united and was a major powerhouse at the time," Alysia continued, "But it took only a handful of Primordials too wipe out almost everyone. The only reason why were here today is... well, guess humanity gave us another chance,"
An hour later, the Newcastle Agents has reached the headquarters of the Newcastle Foundation. A massive airship, flying across the brown skies.
They landed the ship on the landing bay and then opened the back.
Waiting for them was their boss Castle, the founder of the Newcastle Foundation. A Half Reptile Hybrid that is known to be a calm man, always with a smile and terrible puns.
As the rest gathered to move the Primordial, Xel'Ryah went to talk to Castle.
"So, I heard things went down over there," Castle said, "Another infestation outbreak?"
"Yes," Xel'Ryah admitted, "And it wasn't exactly pleasant"
"That sounds familiar" Castle joked, "We also managed to pick up the survivors, the majority of them lived,"
Then they walked up to the chunk ice that contained the Primordial, there was crowd gathering around it.
Who wouldn't be curious on what sort of thing they discovered?
"So this is it?" Castle asked, "The... Primordial?"
"Yes sir," Xel'Ryah answered, "We found it frozen inside of this chunk of ice, it doesn't appear to be moving."
"Interesting," Castle mused, "But are you certain of it though?"
"Positive." Xel'Ryah answered, "It has to be the same one"
"If you say so," Castle then ordered it to be moved to a secured cell.
And then suddenly someone called out to him, "Sir! I have an urgent message for you!"
A young girl handed him a tablet where he would read the message. He seems to be somewhat annoyed.
"What is it, sir?" Xel'Ryah asked.
"The Union Council wants to see me for apparently," He explained, "It's about the Primordial,"
"Wait, how did they know so fast?" Xel'Ryah wondered.
"They're smart, and they have connections all over the place," Castle smiled, "Anyway, make sure that that thing stays under tight security until I get back. You guys should go back and rest now, it's been a long day."
Xel'Ryah nodded and went back to inside.
A few days have passed, Xel'Ryah conducted a lot of research on the Primordial. However she was given strict orders not to release it from the ice.
She was taking a coffee break when Castle walked in.
"I see you're... 'chilling' over here" He joked.
"Sometimes I don't know why I work here..." Xel'Ryah sighed.
"Oh come on, don't be such a 'Cold' person," He teased.
"Why do people seem to call me Cold anyway?" Xel'Ryah complained.
"Maybe because you are cold hearted" Castle said while chuckling.
"Whatever" Xel'Ryah muttered.
"So, any progress on our new friend here," He asked.
"Little," She said, "It would be nice if we could thaw it,"
"I know but the Union Council does not want us to," He answered.
"We're an independent company, should t we make that decision?" Xel'Ryah asked.
"We shouldn't piss them off, they could tell every nation that were terrorists and no one would doubt them," He sighed, "They're just afraid that this thing might wake up and decided to kick everything extinction,"
"So?" Xel'Ryah said
"I can tell you that it won't happen, this Primordial has been frozen so long its pretty much dead already, and they're worried about that happening, you can bet your life on it that it won't wake,"
"You seem pretty disappointed," he said.
"Of course I'd rather it wasn't dead" Xel'Ryah shrugged, "but who knows maybe one day we'll be able to get a better look of it," she paused as she looked at the screen with the data she had collected, "Who knows we may be able to understand it enough to create one for ourselves,"
Castle glared at her in disbelief, after a while it made her quite nervous. It's rare to see him like this.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"I'm hungry" He replied simply.
"Oh... uhm, alright..." Xel'Ryah muttered awkwardly before walking back to her desk.
After that conversation with Castle, Xel'Ryah continued her studies. But she didn't find anything, only a detailed look and how it could theoretically work.
She knew it was farfetched, the most she could possibly do with these information would probably just end up as her writing it off as nonsense.
Without anything else to work with, she decided to call it day and head back to her room.
She walked out of the room and walked through a corridor.
When she passed through a canteen area, she stopped and noticed a large crowd gathering there.
curious, she entered and saw Alsysia and Sparrow watching a screen. There was a news broadcast.
"What's going on here?" Xel'Ryah asked.
Alsyia looked at her a d answered, "Looks like we got another terrorists attack,"
"Some influential politician died or something," She added.
"It's going be another rebellion soon," Sparrow said, "No doubt about it"
"I would never understand why these things happen" Xel'Ryah sighed.
Every now and then there's always conflict. Every time there's conflict, someone would eventually get hurt.
"They called themselves the Humanitarians" Sparrow said.
"A strange name to use don't you think?"
"Hope it ends fast, we got more problems right now" Alysia added, "With the Infestation and all that,"
With the end of broadcast, the crowd slowly dissipated. Everyone returned to whatever they were doing. For Xel'Ryah... Well she's going take a nap.
