"...Sa! Clarissa!"
My consciousness came back to me little by little when I heard a familiar voice calling me name. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the source of the voice. As I suspected, that person was my mother. She was glaring dagger at me with demon-like expression. She probably tried to wake me up several times already.
"You finally wake up! For whatever sake, why you two couldn't even wake up in the morning by yourself?" said mother with irritated tone.
I must be still half asleep since her words just came to the right ear and went from the left ear. I let out a yawn and proceed to come down from my bed. As I slid my blanket, I realized there was something, no, someone else underneath. A young man, slightly older than me with the same hair color and similar facial features as mine but more masculine. It was none other than my older brother, Gilbert.
"Come down for breakfast, Clarissa. You too, Gilbert. You guys have morning class today, right?"
As she said those words, mother left my bedroom. That left me with the task to wake Gilbert up. How troublesome. Why was he even here anyway?
"Gilbert, wake up. Ooi, Gilbert!"
I pulled my blanket that covered him and tried to shake his shoulder so he would wake up. Since he didn't even react, I tried to pinch his nose. Still no sign of him waking up, though. It was quite a challenging task to wake him up. I decided to use brute force instead and kicked him from my bed. It was effective since he immediately opened his eyes.
"Oh, morning, Clarissa."
"Morning, Gilbert."
"Ah, sorry I fell asleep. Mother told me to wake you up, but looking at you sleeping made me sleepy too..."
"Well, fine. Anyway, we need to come down for breakfast. You are already awake right, Gilbert?"
I asked just in case he was still half asleep. We wouldn't want him to slip and rolled down the stairs because half of his soul was still in dream world.
Gilbert nod and stood up with half-opened eyes and sleepy look. He always looked sleepy, though. Not to mention, this person could fall asleep anywhere and anytime. He once told me that anything other than sleeping was troublesome. One could argue that he was the embodiment of deadly sin sloth.
I noticed that Gilbert already wore his usual campus attire, a black T-shirt with green plaid shirt on the top of it. It had wrinkles here and there since he used it to sleep. Of course, he didn't care about stuff like that. Too bad, our mother cared about that, so he was told to change. Her eyes when he looked at Gilbert with those clothes was just like looking at cockroach. Quite amusing, actually.
