Dong Hua Dijun stared at the beauty who revealed herself as the Queen of Qingqiu. Ofcourse, he is definitely surprised that the queen herself is the fox he petted just hours ago. Still, he didn't get embarrassed of what he did. In his thoughts, why should he be embarrassed when he didn't know that she's the queen of Qingqiu? But his interest on her grow a little bit more now. He wanted to smile infront of her but stopped himself because he wanted to see more of her notable and hilarious reactions. She's very refreshing and doesn't cower infront of him and most importantly, she doesn't swoon when she's looking at him.
But his irritation is also into another notch when the real reason that she's actually here is because of the immortal Ye Qingti. Now he wondered what is her relationship to the immortal that she gave him immortality. I saved a goddess your majesty and this is how the goddess repaid my debt of life. Dong Hua remembered what the immortal said a while ago. He wanted to know more of what this debt is all about. Now... he felt left out and somewhat... kept in the dark. Dong Hua wanted to shook his head. He is not usually like this and what is happening today makes him want to reflect on his actions and interactions especially towards the queen of Qingqiu Bai Feng Jiu and the immortal Ye Qingti.
Dong Hua will let the Queen save her face today by letting her go first and let her do the washing of mortal dusts of Ye Qingti. At the end of the day, he is still Dong Hua Dijun and he'll not be distracted over new emerging and strange emotions.
"Better late than never kind of introduction your highness. I'll let you go and do what you intended to do here. You'll meet the immortal Ye Qingti and then wash away his mortal dusts since you gave him immortality. " he stared at her with his usual serious face and voice which unnerved Bai Feng Jiu.
Feng Jiu didn't realized that her tails disappeard. She didn't understand why she can feel that his demeanor has changed. She's surprised and confused of this change in him so, Feng Jiu replied,
"Really? You're going to let me go just like that? "
"Is there a reason why you should remain here? " Dong Hua replied back in which she felt wronged on how indifferent Dijun is. Feng Jiu sighed. She's thankful that Dijun isn't offended when she hid her identity.
Feng Jiu bowed down and said,
"Thank you for taking care of me your majesty. It's been an honor." then Feng Jiu slowly retreated and turned around to exit Dijun's study but before leaving, she throw a one last look at Dijun and she's disappointed when Dijun isn't looking at her. Feng Jiu then heard Siming said,
"I'll lead the way your highness."
Feng Jiu looked at Siming and she smiled at him and nodded in which Siming is delighted but felt a little bit weird seeing her highness and his majesty together, knowing they have a heart breaking history that shouldn't be told.
Dong Hua stared at the back of the queen of Qingqiu and he felt sad. It's as if she's going to walk away from him and he's not going to see her ever again. Again, another feeling evoked by this woman and it's starting to disturb him. Dong Hua decided to meditate and bring his emotions and wayward thoughts under control.
When Feng Jiu and Siming is already out of Dijun's study, Feng Jiu released a sigh of relief and disappointment. Siming is a little bit worried of her highness and he asked,
"Are you alright your highness? "
Feng Jiu gave a smile of assurance and nodded back. Then Feng Jiu composed herself and collected her thoughts. That's right Feng Jiu. You are lucky to have spent hours with Dijun and this should be enough. At the end of the day, you're a Queen and bound with responsibilities and duties. Feng Jiu gave her self some pep talk and not ask for more. She's not the spoiled Bai Feng Jiu anymore but a queen.
"Let's go Siming. Led the way so I can finish Qingti's ceremony. "
Siming nodded but in his thoughts he was wondering if her highness know that Ye Qingti, his majesty and her have some bitter past. Siming doesn't want to think what will happen if the three discovered their relationship with each other and why they are drawn to each other. Siming sighed. He thought that fate was done with the three of them but if his hunch is right, the fate has just started with the trio. What a strange entanglement. It started in the mortal realm and it continues here in their realm.

After the ceremony Feng Jiu bid Ye Qingti goodbye. She felt sad. Qingti's been with her the past 5,000 years and has been her constant companion and the one who silently supports her decision no matter how stupid or childish it is. Feng Jiu gave Qingti a hug and Qingti hugged her back. She was surprised when he kowtowed infront of her and when he stood Qingti said,
"Thank you for everything your highness Feng Jiu. "
Feng Jiu gave Qingti one of her warm smiles. She felt crying and proud of Qingti but she stopped herself. Qingti on the other hand realized that this is another part of his journey as an immortal. He's very thankful that her highness has guided him in the past 5,000 years and so. Realization also struck him that whatever he felt for her highness, he must forget it now. Whatever happened to them in the mortal realm is just her majesty's trial and ascension to become a goddess. In short, he's just an instrument used for her to ascend successfully.
On her way back to Qingqiu it is already night time and she's sad and Feng Jiu felt abandoned. She knew the old phoenix is still mad at her but to her surprise, she came in easily in the 10 peach mile orchard without being stopped by a ward which she is thankful. She needs a place to breathe in and the only place she can think of is the ten miles peach woods.
She's walking on the peach tree woods and she's welcomed by her fourth uncle.
"So you're here Xiaojiu. "
Feng Jiu nodded back at her uncle and gave a little smile. Bai Zhen can sense that his niece is somewhat down.
"What's wrong Xiaojiu?"
"Qingti is a full immortal now. "
"Oh that's good news right? " Bai Zhen replied not sure why his niece is out of spirits. Then Bai Zhen's eyes widened when he realized something,
"Have you fallen inlove with Qingti, Xiaojiu?"
"Sì Shū! Why have you come up on that conclusion?" Feng Jiu frowned not liking what her fourth uncle is thinking.
"Then what or should I say, who makes you out of spirits? "
"Is it Dong Hua little brat? " Bai Zhen and Feng Jiu immediately turned and look at the one who spoke and is walking towards them. Feng Jiu pouted and started to tangle her hands. She's getting nervous and she thinks, Zhe Yan has heard what happened to her in the Sky Kingdom.
"Stop talking nonsense Lǎo fènghuáng (old phoenix) That's not funny. "
Bai Zhen replied not liking Zhe Yan's joke.
"But I'm not joking Zhen-zhen. Because today is an important day for the new immortals, I heard that Dong Hua is in a very good mood today. He even smiled at the immortals and guards in the nine heavens and what caused more of this uproar is Dong Hua bringing a red firefox into Qing Yun hall and did what he usually does. " Zhe Yan said while his smile never faltered and while his gaze fixed on Feng Jiu's face. Bai Zhen looked at his niece.
"Are you... " Bai Zhen asked but was cut off when his niece nodded and hid her face with her hands. Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen just look at each other then Zhe Yan laughed out loud and Bai Zhen sighed.
"Xiaojiu... Xiaojiu... You're already a queen. What happened and you turned into Dijun's pet fox? " Bai Zhen said with incredulity in his voice.
"Now...now...now Zhen-zhen. Give Xiaojiu some slack. Have you felt how down her spirits when she came in my orchard? Lái ba, lái ba, I created another batch of peach wine. But don't let me hear you complain it's not as good as those old batches. Remember that you and Ye Qingti drank all of those old batches. For now, let's drink these new ones. "
Zhe Yan said with mirth in his voice which made Bai Zhen just sighed defeatedly. Feng Jiu's pout turned into a smile after. She knows Zhe Yan can't stand it when she's sad.
"Drink all your worries away tonight Xiaojiu. Go back to Qingqiu tomorrow. I'll send a word to Migu that you're going to spend the night here. " Bai Zhen said then started to walk back to Zhe Yan's small hut.
"Thank you Sì Shū. I owe you tonight." and Feng Jiu followed the two and drink the night away til she fell asleep.
Morning came and Feng Jiu wake up with a start. She remembered earlier that her fourth uncle woke her up and she's still groggy when her fourth uncle told her that he and the old phoenix will go away somewhere and that she'll be alone in the peach orchard. She doesn't remember what she replied but she still stood and felt that she had an head ache. Feng Jiu shook her head and the head ache still persist. She loudly groaned.
Feng Jiu decided to take a bath on one of Zhe Yan's hot pool a little far away and on the secluded part of the 10 mile peach tree woods to clear away her head ache and to feel refreshed before going back to Qingqiu. She definitely remembered that this certain pool has healing properties.
Feng Jiu with eyes closed, slowly took off her layered clothes slowly. She also made her hair undone and combed it using her fingertips to avoid hair tangles. When she's bare naked, she slowly slid on the warm pool. She winced at first when she felt it's a little bit hot but then she gave it a little time for her body to adjust. When her body already adjusted to the temperature, she conjured a light pink square towel and she dipped it on the pool. After dipping it on the pool, she squeezed the extra water and put the towel on her forehead down to her eyes. Feng Jiu leaned her back on the rocky yet soft edge of the pool and she leaned her head on the soft grassy ground.
Feng Jiu sighed and hummed a song named Acacia Citation. Her sweet humming attracted birds and other small mammals who were sitting near her and listened to her humming. With the towel still on half of her face, she continued humming then she heared a splashing noise right infront of her. It made Feng Jiu stopped humming and jerked herself upright. She took the towel off her face and when she opened her eyes, she saw Dong Hua Dijun submerged in the water with the water reaching at the top of his wide shoulders.
Feng Jiu's eyes widened and she was rendered speechless. She saw Dijun just looking at her with boredom etched on his handsome chiseled face like it doesn't matter if she's there or not. She blushed and got embarrassed. Why are we meeting in such embarassing circumstances? Feng Jiu thought. She wants to feel despair but instead she smiled awkwardly at Dijun and bowed down her head in respect.
Feng Jiu decided to exit the pool first so she started to wade near the grassy edge and reach for her clothes. When she took hold of her clothes, she remembered that she stripped naked exactly infront of his majesty. So in short, she just gave him a strip show and she wanted to disappear right there at right now.
Feng Jiu felt cold despite the hot temperature of the water in the pool. All the blood rushed to her face and to her brain and even if she haven't seen her face, she knew her face is as red as a tomato.
"You just soaked for minutes and you're leaving too soon? "
Feng Jiu stiffened when she heard Dijun spoke and she's contemplating if she's going to turn and face him or just talk to him with her back facing on him but it came to a fright to her and all the hairs on her neck stood when she heard Dijun spoke just inches away from her back and he said in a whisper,
"Why are you in a hurry? "
Feng Jiu slowly turned and faced his majesty. Her breath caught on her throat as she stared at his handsome face with full of wonder written over his face. She saw droplets of water slowly dripped from his silver mane down to his well defined chest. Feng Jiu gulped.
"How did he crossed to my direction so fast? " Feng Jiu realized that she spoke her thoughts aloud. She abrubtly covered her mouth with her hand and to add to her surprise Dijun caged her between his arms. She's trapped and she's getting more embarrassed. What is he exactly doing?! She silently thought this time.
"To answer your question, I swam, to come near you. " Dijun replied in a whisper.
"Why? " She replied. Not understanding why is Dijun doing this to her.
"Because I really intended to come to you." Dijun replied a matter of factly. Still Feng Jiu is not understanding his reply.
"Why do you intend to come to me? " Feng Jiu asked again.
Dijun and Feng Jiu were looking at each others eyes then Dijun said,
"Because I need you. I intended to come to you because I need you... Xiaobai. "
Feng Jiu's eyes widened and she loudly gasped. Her heart thumped loudly and all the thoughts in her brain disappeared. Dijun is really formidable. She thought. How could he render me senseless with just a reply like that?
Feng Jiu knew that what Dijun did today just awakened something she thought that she already buried and forgotten long long long time ago. Dijun, you're a very bad bad boy. Feng Jiu thought before Dijun suddenly lowered his head towards her and she closed her eyes in anticipation.
