Drako Yau had no choice either. He would consider putting on other sets if he was at the max level of Level 50, but he was now only Level 45. That was with him clearing every dungeon he could and fighting wild monsters whenever possible on a daily basis. Rumours had it that Zeus, Butcherer, Musashi and other Western elites were already one level away from reaching the level cap.
Considering the difference in level between them, Drako Yau could only make it up with equipment that provided the highest Defence and protective abilities. No matter how much firepower he had through Boiling Form, it wouldn’t make a difference if he died.

The week finally came to an end. The long-awaited system notification announced the results globally to all players.
Despite the efforts of other elite players, none managed to break the four records. The Eastern and Western giants were holding themselves back as well. Drako Yau didn’t attempt the Undead Tribal Lands dungeon, nor did Zeus challenge the Beastmen Territory dungeon.
They were honouring Zeus’s declaration; they would settle things in Ninth Hell City instead.

The four squad leaders each received the system’s special notification.
“Congratulations, you have been granted access to the Ninth Hell City. The Demon Capital will be accessible in three days.”
“Please choose your squad members wisely and form a squadron of ten players prior to the teleportation. The ten must include all five members of the record-holding squad. There are no restrictions for the remaining members.”
“Details regarding the dungeon will be provided upon entry.”
This took Drako Yau by surprise; he didn’t expect it to be a ten-player dungeon. Four squads, two each from the East and West—that could only mean a chaotic brawl of forty elites.
Although Drako Yau was far beyond most players, he had never felt full of himself. Such a chaotic battle would certainly put his life at risk. Hawk the sniper and Butcherer together could potentially take him down, not to mention Zeus, the man who put up an intense duel. He was sure his nemesis, just like himself, would be training harder than ever for the great showdown.
Drako Yau gave it a bit more thought before instructing his companions to make preparations. Greenstone, Idyllic Poet, Dumbgirl, Windstrider, Zephyrwolf, Sasaki, Danting, Yim Ho, Man Hing Yau, and himself—a team of exactly ten people, no more no less.
The news brought smiles to the faces of Zephyrwolf and the others who thought they would be missing out on the event. They were fired up, ready to give the West a taste of the East’s might.
Leaving his hyped companions alone, Drako Yau dragged Greenstone along to Empyreal Alliance’s base.

Hades was also present in the headquarters of the mighty alliance. Once again, the three giants of the East were having a conference.
Chau Yu sent Drako Yau a glare. He believed he was born at odds with this masked man; he simply couldn’t bring himself to converse such a person as peers even though they were now on the same boat against the West.
“What brings you here?”
“I want to know who your ten squad members are.”
Chau Yu snickered and rebutted, “Quite the overseer, aren’t you? This is not something for you to meddle with!”
Drako Yau simply turned to look at Hades. The two were on good terms, so Hades saw no reason to hide the information from his comrade. “Chau Yu, Tripurity, Chan Ka Lok, Bloodless Bladester, and I are the record holders, so there’s that. As for the remaining five, we’re going with Soulsmith, Handsome Scholar, Hau Ngai, and Fong Sai Yuk for now.”
Drako Yau nodded at their choice of personnel. Soulsmith and Hau Ngai were acknowledged as the top rangers on the Eastern server, and their presence was a much-needed addition to their roster that lacked ranged damage output. Handsome Scholar and Fong Sai Yuk had both fully comprehended their newly acquired Encounter skills, boosting their strength by leaps and bounds. They were undoubtedly qualified to take part in this showdown as well.
As for clerics, Chau Yu and Greenstone would suffice. On the magical side of things, they had the best fire and ice elementalists to make up for the lack of tormentors. Lastly, melee fighters—this was never an issue to begin with. Even the Western elites couldn’t eclipse the roster of Drako Yau, Handsome Scholar, Bloodless Bladester, Chan Ka Lok, Danting and others.
Hades then continued, “We’re still discussing the last person. The likely candidates are Dakki, Ching Wah, and Ling Long.”
Dakki provided buffs, Ching Wah was a fighter, and Ling Long was a decent support. The three were indeed fine candidates, but Drako Yau had someone else in mind.
“I have a suggestion.”
The name he brought up made the other two leaders glance at one another.
“Mask, this person… would be a nice addition to the team, but given his pride, do you think he’ll even agree to join us?”
It wasn’t a matter of whether the person would fit well in the squad, but rather, no one knew if they could count him in.
“I’ll try to convince him, but first, I’d like to ask for your opinions. It is your squad, after all.”
Chau Yu and Hades found it suspicious that Mask was suddenly being so courteous. They saw no harm in having that person in their squad, and the addition would boost their overall prowess significantly.
Greenstone was the only person who understood why Drako Yau made such an offer. His sense of danger was tingling from the impending brawl, and he was going to make the best use of the limited time he had to up his chances of survival even by just a little. This wasn’t just a game; his life was on the line.
“Good. I’ll find him right away.”

Unlike typical game maps, the Warring Wastelands spanned far and wide with unique properties.
Most places in the three major cities on the Eastern server were safe zone, with monsters spawning only at designated zones. Flip that around, and you have the Wastelands. Danger lurked everywhere apart from the Holy Grounds, and the further away from the safe zone, the stronger the monsters were.
The current location was roughly three hours away from the nearest Holy Ground. Monsters that spawned here could reach up to Level 46. For squads that weren’t exceptionally talented, a single monster could spell the end of their expedition.
Three figures stood in the barren lands, two of which were bystanders who watched the sole fighter take on two monsters that could annihilate a squad each. However, the person besieged by the monsters easily weaved between the attacks.
“How do you know I’m here?”
“I asked your sister. She told me.”
“So, what brings you here?” the person replied as if the monsters were non-existent.
“Ninth Hell City. I require your aid for the East.”
“And what does the East have to do with me?”
“You’re one of us.”
“Ha.” The person chuckled before suddenly making a move.
Something whizzed through the air, bringing an end to the chaotic scene. The two monsters baring their fangs moments ago were instantly reduced to fragments of white that served as the man’s backdrop.
