Alex had been on his own for a while now. Ever since his pride got taken away from him, he had to leave and wander in exile.
But Alex has been training. He has been fighting often. After all he had to fight for every morsel of food. Right now, Alex thinks he is ready to try and reclaim his pride. The only way to find out for sure was by attacking the pride’s current leader.
Getting up Alex let out a yawn and rubbed his tired eyes. Getting up the lion stretched and glanced around. The sun was shining over the savannah. It looked beyond beautiful today. Almost too beautiful for a fight. But Alex still wasn’t going to give up. He was going to win his pride back. No matter what.
Deciding that it should get something to eat before it set off to attack Alex sniffed the air for any scents of prey. He smelled a zebra herd a bit away, but he knew that the herd would be way stronger than him.
After a bit of wandering Alex soon found a dead buffalo by a path of grass. Out of curiosity he approached it and smelled it. It didn’t smell rotten. In fact, it was freshly killed.
Leaning down Alex rapidly began to eat the prey. He most likely shouldn’t be eating it this fast but it knew that there were other predators around and that if he didn’t eat quickly then the prey would end up going to someone else.
Once he had his fill Alex began to set off to find his past pride. After a bit of walking, he soon padded into the pride territory.
Gulping Alex wondered if this was smart or not. But even if he wanted to back out it was too late now. The current pride leader was standing in front of them, his eyes were narrowed, and his long claws were unsheathed.
“What are you doing here?” he demanded. “This is my land now, my pride now. You were exiled a long time ago. Leave now before you get hurt.”
“I-I am not leaving!” Alex argued. “I am here to get my pride back.” they informed him.

wasting no more time the pride leader leaped onto Alex and slammed him onto the ground. Eyes widening Alex kicked the male lion’s belly and managed to get free.
Lunging onto the pride leader’s back Alex wrapped their claws around his throat. But the pride leader rolled onto the ground and crushed Alex.
Yelping Alex kicked him off. But his leg was now slightly hurt. Leaping at Alex, the pride leader sank his teeth into Alex’s leg and twisted it slightly in his jaws. He then leaned forward and raked his claws against Alex’s face.
“I-I give up!” Alex cried. “Let me go!”
