Padding out of her camp Autumnpaw let out a yawn and stretched. Grunting she then smelled the air for any scents of prey.
But the orange and white she-cat couldn’t find a single morsel. Feeling discouraged, Autumnpaw simply walked around the forest. It was around leaf-bare, so it wasn’t like there was a storage of prey. Maybe Autumnpaw was just a bad hunter.
Shaking her head, Autumnpaw forced her thoughts away. She wasn’t a bad hunter! She just became an apprentice recently. It wasn’t like she was about to become a warrior. She would find some prey. She would just need to be patient and stay hopeful.
Feeling much better about herself Autumnpaw began to search for prey once more. As she was searching, the orange and white cat soon spotted a nearby mouse.
Licking her lips, Autumnpaw carefully crouched down. The mouse in front of her was the juiciest and largest one she ever saw. If she wanted to catch it then she would have to be careful and quick.
Forcing herself to calm down, Autumnpaw leaped onto the mouse and slammed it onto the ground. Sinking her fangs inside of the prey’s juicy flesh she then lifted the mouse up.
The apprentice was half-tempted to eat her catch. But that was against the warrior code and would most likely get her in trouble.
Padding back to camp Autumnpaw beamed as she saw her mentor, Dragonfrost. Although she just became an apprentice Autumnpaw liked her mentor a lot. He was kind to her and trained her at her own pace.
“Did you catch that all by yourself?” Dragonfrost questioned, his eyes wide.
“Y-yeah!” Autumnpaw said happily, proudly Raising her head.
“Nice job.” Dragonfrost praised. “It seems I'm training you well.”
Laughing Autumnpaw nodded. “It seems so. Although I'm sure it was just luck.” 247Please respect copyright.PENANA7Mtow4l3yJ
yawning Dragonfrost stretched before rubbing his tired eyes. The warrior had most likely just woken up.
“Put your prey in the fresh-kill pile then get yourself some breakfast. We then can have some hunting lessons in a bit.” Dragonfrost ordered.
Nodding Autumnpaw padded over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped the mouse. Sniffing around she then picked up a vole and slowly began to eat. She couldn’t wait to train some more!
