the dark blue colour painted across,

turning into the bright orangey gloss,

i stand there, wondering why,

if the sky will one day fade out,

and one day will i?

i watch the canvas blend and bleed,

as my own canvas shatters and scatters,

my heart weighed down with thoughts unspoken,

each breathe a silent, aching call,

a call unnoticed,

and a mirror to a soul that's fading.

the sunset is beautiful, isn’t it?

i rest my heavy heart on the seat,

its a strange moment, quite bittersweet,

the feelings once felt, they’re now numb,

and you’ll know the time will soon come

so i stand there, with the sudden realisation,

that the sky will fade out,

and why will i?

tomorrow feels like a distant dream,

the moon will sink and the sun will beam,

each fading day, there’s nothing new,

look at the sunset, isn’t it a view?

but the beauty can't mend anything,

or ease the burdens that weigh so much,

all it can do is make you wonder

if your truly enough.

i linger in the dying light,

i stand there, trying to wonder why,

but the sky faded out,
