Jolene is song from Dolly Parton, and I find it has a truly deep story behind the lyrics. Here's my interpretation of that song, I hope you like it. :)
(p.s. Forgive me for any mistakes, English is not my first language)
Blank page stared at Rebecca, mocking her for the situation she was in. She let out gray smoke of the cigarette she was smoking and observed the way it danced around her. Her fingers were tightly wrapped around glass filled with who-know-which drink in a row, but Rebecca needed something strong to ease her mind. Pouring down the last drops of brown liquor in her throat, she set the glass aside and grabbed a pen. Her hand trembled as she squeezed the pen and brought it closer to that paper that she was about to pour her soul into.
Dear Jolene,
Rebecca froze. Dear? Was that the type of endearment she should use? Was there a special style one should use when writing to a person that was stealing your everything? She decided not to bother with such trivialities and shaking her dizzy head, continued.
I'm not sure whether you know about my existence, though I hope the answer to that is negative. Perhaps, under different circumstances we would even grew to become close acquaintances, friends maybe. After all, we share the same taste.
Rebecca's heart that was lost in vortex of feelings, sending a jolt of nausea in her stomach, her pride hung next to the coat he bought her back when they were happy. Her eyes fell to the photo she found in her husband's jacket. Beautiful woman were smiling back at her, her twinkling eyes like a reflection of emeralds, flaming auburn hair enveloping her pale face like a crown and cascading down her slims shoulders. She truly was bewitching.
The reason I'm writing to you is a last attempt to salvage what I had, to reconstruct the most precious thing in my life - my marriage. It's understandable why he would chose you, we are pole opposites and you hold the reward for mos exotic, exiting one. But you don't know what he means to me. He's just new colorful feather for your hat, just a sweet souvenir. For me, our years together are all I have. I am begging you not to steal him away, not to destroy my most precious thing.
Night was cold and lonely, moaning of the wind translated her soul into the nature. Tears of desperation and raw sadness streamed down her cheeks and fell on the paper her heart was bleeding into, mixing with ashes and ink and portraying the agony her being got caught into.
I needed to write you this letter, to ease my heart and let you know that my happiness depends on you and your decision. Maybe you will laugh at me, mock at me for my hopelessness but that's alright. You will understand once you truly love.
Goodbye Jolene, hopefully you will understand my plea.
Putting the pen down, Rebecca felt as some of the weight from her chest lifted as she translated her torment into written word, and she neatly folded the paper that consisted her crumbled pride and crushed heart. Small smile tugged her lips upwards and although she could't understand what force sent it to her face she allowed it. Sighing deeply once more, her wet eyes connected with the paper in her hands.
Rebecca lifted a lighter and in one swift move of her hand, everything disappeared.
