Ironic moments are when the eyes are closed, the head is propped up on the pillow, yet I’m still awake. Not even a dream, instead there are many things in mind. Not that the sun rises, but wakes up when the moon shines. I thought I slept a few hours, but turned out to be daydreaming while closing my eyesight for a few hours. It might not be midnight, but at least it was ten o'clock.
Well, what a night instead of bringing peace. My ears were made noisy with God's anger through the lightning, while the sky water swiftly descended without mercy. Coupled with strong winds, one might say rather fierce, making the direction of the water at least a bit skewed. With a bit of extra effort, I set up two buckets, just under the slightly weathered roof. Rooms that don't really provide protection.
After I felt a little relieved, the next step was to wait for Mrs. Beagle. Previously, I had told her to return to the teacher's room provided, not back to the crime scene. That's why I shouldn't be surprised that the lights are off in that place. The problem is that I have to be hostile to this rainwater, the teacher's building is on the front side.
The door finally opened with a heavy. It's not like I'm a coward, after all it was also a bit late yesterday when I helped Gwendoline with a little work. The effects of lightning and heavy rain, compact at the same time, make a worrying impression. They even broke the silence. The most doubtful is when something happens. As the Japanese proverb says, day has eyes, night has ears.
After I closed the door again, I walked aside following the roof that protected me from falling water. From a distance of two stairs in the middle of the corridor, a person was seen. The person head turned in all directions carefully, The person used yellow coat to cover head. Before the steps quickly ran to break the splashing of the pouring rain, when the person turned to look at me.
"Who?" I muttered.
This room building is elongated, ten rooms each on two levels, squares following the field. While the hallway at night is not too bright, but to be honest this rather strong wind makes them fall asleep.
I walked around the corridor. As usual, the room was tightly closed. I walked opposite the person who ran away suddenly earlier. Until I walked in the corridor to the west, two rooms opened. There's absolutely no clue what's going on, but it worries me.
I ran back to my row of rooms, but on the second floor.
"Oh god, no!" I muttered, still running while looking down. I don't want to slip.
The room was indeed open, but I was interested in Gwendoline who was lying on the floor right in front of her room door a bit soaked. I frantically held her pulse while remembering the science lesson that Mrs. Beagle taught me. It felt a bit moving, I felt relieved. I closed the Gwendoline’s room door back. The problem is other than my footprints, I see something else. It stopped right at the door of Gwendoline's next room, Sonia's.
"What's that doing in this place?" I thought.
I ignored that for the time being. Having Gwendoline carried to my room was top priority, just talking about her safety. I walked down the corridor, not worrying that someone misunderstood me. Because the voices have been disguised by the pouring rain and the severity of the thunder. After arriving at my room, I wrapped her body with a towel, then I locked the room.
"Fine, let's take care of that person. That strange person."
I won't let that person run away from me. At least not with the most suspicious.
I hear a strange sound. I peeked from one of the stairs. For god sake, that's not something I want to see. At the very least, the last thing that caught my eyes was the shuffling of the head. As a matter of fact, I was lurking carefully – days from behind.
Behind the pouring rain, I saw person turn, towards small shops with apple trees. While dragging something that is definitely not alive anymore. Until she really did turn, I peeked from the toilet that connected the junction where the five small shops were.
She stopped while carrying something in anger. At least I knew the woman with a baseball bat by her apron and she would never be out of our sight even if it rained in the middle of the night. The problem is that I saw three children, which she himself was looks confused, two of them tied to one of the apple trees near the two shops that still had no tenants. She even tried to wake the three of them by moving his cheeks.
"Who? That yellow coat?” I said realizing from afar. The one tied up was the one in the yellow coat. The person should be a match for the one running down the corridor earlier.
While from behind, I saw a flashlight as if it was magnifying from the canteen. I panicked and had no other choice. At that time I was ready to risk anything to cross the line.
The woman turned her head in panic after I stepped closer to her field of view.
She put down what she had dragged earlier, then approached me with the bat. Even this hard water, doesn't really remove the marks.
We stared at each other. I could understand him holding onto it with vengeance. That night, I saw the woman who I had considered my own aunt, whom we bought food from, her face unapologetic. But I know, her eyes don't really hate me. Because the bat wasn't swinging at me.
I glanced back for a moment, the light was getting wider, approaching the distance of our field of view.
"Keep calm, and help them!"
She quickly grabbed me then pushed me towards the three bound girls. I dodged them and hit the wall pretty hard. But the light shone on her.
"Stop!" I said out loud.
But the gun had already been pulled on the trigger. The bullet hit her body right. Too late I regret that incident. In front of me everyone is in a precarious position. My hope is that there are only three people who are tied up.
Two constables ran towards me carrying umbrellas. But I was more concerned about other things. Surprisingly, this tied up person was someone I knew.
“Gertrude! Rita! Sonia!” my hands move them around.
I can't stop before they wake up. However, because the rain was unbelievably heavy, the two constables and I untied them and took them to the medical unit room.
When I got there, it turned out to be locked. Well, common sense is quite annoying at critical times. One of the officers kicked in with his boot.
The door opened with a bang and a little rough.
We then dropped on the bed. Even when it's very wet.
I'm worried about their condition which is completely unconscious.
One of the constables shook his head while holding the long hair girl's neck. While the other one is also silent and confused. I'm still trying to get the girl in the yellow coat to wake up. Yellow coat with red Chinese writing on the front.
"Well, son, what about her?” asked one of them.
"For God's sake! Still there, sir! I'm still trying!” I explained while continuing to lightly slap the yellow coat girl's cheek.
They look at me pity, but I believe in the value of my science. I ignored them and still trying to wake her up.
He spoke with handy talky.
"This is Constable Whitlock and Constable Stoll, reporting that at 10:27, had shot an old woman with a baseball bat threatening students, at least four bodies found," he added, glancing briefly at me. "We need an ambulance and a team to immediately evacuate to the location. This is a 911 emergency!”
Meanwhile his friend, Constable Stoll, was calling Sergeant Mcpherson.
My efforts to awaken this girl to fruition. Her eyes were slowly waking up. Her condition was limp and shivering cold, I panicked and borrowed Mrs. Beagle's electric kettle that she left.
“Repeat, here is Constable Whitlock, we are reporting for corrections, situation changed, corpses became three people. Please hurry up to prioritize the ambulance!" he said quickly, his tone somewhat happy.
I returned to the girl.
"Are you okay?" I said while wiping the towel on his face.
“I feel cold, Mark,” she said shakingly.
I wouldn't be so stupid to strip her wet shirt considering the two cops were there, but at least they heard what she just said.
Without any words, I took the policeman's umbrella and ran to get clothes in my room. I turned the key and then the knob. I kinda forgot that I borrowed Gwendoline in my room.
“Ma-mark? What happened?" he said a little limp but also looks shaky.
My head is starting to explode with this situation. Without thinking or answering her question, I carried Gwendoline onto my back, took some clothes and an umbrella, then ran to where I was before after re-locking my room. She grumbled, but I didn't care.
The two cops were confused when I took Gwendoline with me. After that, I pulled the curtain away from the coat girl. They really wanted to stop me, but on the other hand I knew what to do. I left Sonia's business with Gwendoline to avoid misunderstandings.
The hot water was ready in less than five minutes. I told them to warm up. Meanwhile the Beagle and Superintendant Mcpherson just arrived.
One of the constables explained.
While Mrs. Beagle checked the state of the four girls lying down. I just gave up, when the girl suddenly said that.
“I-I'm not involved! I swear! A murder that even I didn't commit!”
I don't know why Sonia said that. Of course, given her spontaneous bewilderment and unwarranted protest, it seemed she was only defending herself. Of course, I couldn't ignore the girl in the yellow coat who mysteriously ran through the pouring rain.
