Name- Jillian Colbert
Pronouns- She/her
Age- 17
Birthday- June 23, 2005
Jillian's parents split up when she was 3. Her dad left her mom for unknown reasons. Jillian's mom succumbed to drink when Jillian was 7. Her mom became very abusive and by the time she was 10, child services picked her up and put her into the foster system.
Jillian was fostered by a family who didn't care about her. They had her only because of the money and benefits they got by fostering her. Jillian grew to be bitter and played the every-man-for-himself game very well. She would steal and almost fell into the temptation of smoking.
Then her foster family gave her up to a different family. This family was... weird.
There were 10 kids, 2 of which were adopted. They ranged from 23 to 7 in ages, all mixes of boys and girls. The siblings loved each other and were constantly laughing and taking care of each other. Even more surprising than that was the parents. They loved the kids. Loved them. Jillian never experienced that till now.
The children of the family immediately started treating Jillian as one of their own. They took care of her and showed her how things were done in their home. What did this family have that was strong enough to hold them together? Sunday came and she found the answer to her question.
Jesus Christ. The parents and the children believed in this story of a Man who died to save the world. A Man who live with His father in a place called Heaven. A Man who could give you the gift of eternal life. All you had to do was ask.
She didn't know what to do. So she ignored it.
One year later, on her 13th birthday, her foster parents gave he the best gift she could only dream about. Adoption into their family. She now had parents that loved her. She now had siblings that loved her. But something was still missing. Why was she given this gift of love from this family?
September 9, Jillian went up to her parents and asked them about this Jesus. That night, Jillian accepted Jesus as her Savior and was given eternal life.
You may not be broken like Jillian was, or you may be broken more that Jillian was, no matter what your situation is, you NEED Jesus as your Savior. He saved Jillian, and he will save you.
All you have to do is ask.
