"Good morning, Tetsu!" Yuto said to an angry Tetsu.
"Good morning..."
"You seem down. What's wrong?"
"What's wrong!? You! You and her!" Tetsu screams pointing to Mia.
"What do we do?"
"You- You kept me up all night! Then I had a peaceful sleep!"
"Sorry."
"No. No sorries. Not until we leave and go to our next location."
"Okay."
"What's going on?" Emi sleepily states rubbing her eyes, and wiping off the dirt that was on her face.
"Tetsu mad."
"Didn't know someone like him can act like such a child." Mia laughs a little, stretching her body.
"I'm not a child! You guys are going to treat me like the man I am! Now! Gather everything and let's leave."
"Alright."
"Emi, how did you sleep?"
"Nice! How about you Mia?"
"It was a good sleep. However, without Ita..."
"Yeah. I miss her."
"Don't worry. I'm here! If you're here for me we'll live on with her in our hearts."
"Yeah!"
"Alright, you two. Enough with the girly love. We got places to go."
"Why can't we just stay in one room again?" Yuto budges in, with an annoyed tone.
"Because our scents gather up over time. Especially when one of us is injured. The smell of us or our blood attracts them here."
"Dang it! What can the monsters not do!?"
"Be nice with humans," Mia said, hugging Yuto while laughing.
"You seem happy today."
"I don't know why but, even though I should be at the worst part of my life. I'm oddly happy. I think you guys are just so amusing to me."
"Well, I'm glad my pain could be used to fuel your happiness. Maybe I can bake you some cookies, or sing you a song, or maybe even kiss you tonight will that help the experience."
"If you kiss me goodnight I like to be kissed on my right cheek."
"Mia!"
"Calm down Emi. I can tell he is too chicken to do it."
"Are you too chicken to do it, Tetsu?"
"...Yes. Yes I am, Yuto."
"See."
"Well, unless you want to become chickens... Everyone get ready to leave!"
"We're already ready! We're waiting on your word!" Everyone shouted at Tetsu.
"Well, you all didn't have to shout..."
"What!?"
Tetsu then walked to the door and slid it open. Once he opened the door he took a big breather and a smile as he started to walk out. Yuto jumped out and ran to catch up. Emi just did a small, yet shy run to try to catch up. While Mia, the last one leaving, got shot with an arrow in her head.
"What was that noise?"
"Oh my god!"
"Mia!"
"What? What happened!?"
The blood trickled down. Like she banged her head on concrete. A blast of her skin and brain shot out and even sprinkled a little on Emi. The amount of tension in the space was nerving and shaken. In seconds, Mia had an arrow in the middle of her head, poking out and cutting a little of her eyebrow.
Before Mia could even close her eyes another arrow went to her stomach and toward her arm. Again gushing out the blood leaving it to stack and clump on the floor as Mia slowly fell. Her legs slowly lost power, as she started to slip on the blood till she eventually slid and fell on her back making the arrow go in deeper. Like a fisherman who finally caught their bait, pulling it in ever so carefully.
"Who's out there!?" Tetsu screamed so loud it echoed for miles in The Darken Plain.
"Mi-" Before Emi could finish a blade went right through her arm. The person behind her had a mask on. On that mask, it had an emblem which was a red cross with a yellow arrow going through the cross.
"Who the hell are you!?"
"Quiet! Now. If you want this girl to live I sugge-"
Before the girl in the mask could finish Yuto came out of the darkness and punched her straight in the face sending her flying into the darkness.
"Don't tell him to be quiet."
"Mia!" Emi screamed as the light in Mia's eyes slowly started to fade. Yet Mia was still alive, and struggling.
"Yuto. Kill her." Tetsu said in a cold tone.
"What? What did you say Tetsu?"
"Tetsu? Why? I thought you were nice. You helped us. You- You made us feel safe. Yuto don't listen!"
"Tetsu. You. You can't be serious right!? She is still alive! We can try to sa-"
"Then what? Have an emotionally scared, brain-damaged person in our team!?"
"It's better than her being dead!"
"No, it's not! How can you not see that?"
"See what?"
"Do you think Mia wants to live a life in that pain!? Not being able to talk to the people around her!? Not being able to move or drink on her own!? Do you think that's the life she wants!?"
"I- I-"
"Think about it for yourself? Are you okay with not living a life of free will?"
"Yuto. Please don't! Let's save her. Yuto? Yuto!?"
"Yuto! Answer me!"
They both started yelling at Yuto but all his mind could do was recall. Recall their conversation.
"There's nothing we could do. I don't want to see anymore people get hurt."
"I do. I find it obnoxious. It's a stupid dream that no one could achieve. Now that I'm saying it, I know what I really want! I want the pain to stop. That's all I want."
"Why can't I just let her die peacefully!? Why do I need to decide between both options!?"
"Because she is hurting right now! Don't you two see!? She is in so much pain! You want her to be hurt for longer!? She has a minute or two left before she dies guaranteed! We don't even have enough time to use medical practices on her because who knows who else is out here! Kill her now and help me! The more time we take the more arrows can be shot and who knows who else is out there! Hurry it up and help me!"
"Don't do it Yuto! Save her!"
"She was the type to want to die before she has to give up the freedom she has in her life."
"So... You hate that?"
"No! I... I think that's one of the stupidest things ever... However, I want to learn how to live my life in that way."
"Emi. Let's save he... No. Emi looks away. I'm sorry. She wouldn't want this to go on any longer! She would want us to finish her fast! So we can focus on ourselves! She wants to live a life of freedom! I know she does! I know she is willing to die for that freedom! So! I'll do this for her!" Yuto with tears running down his face as he grabbed one of the arrows and cut slit her neck. Blood flowed down gently and the last thing Mia did was cry. Cry with a bloody smile.
"I'm sorry. Rest. The pain ends now."
"She's dead. They're both dead. I lost them both."
"I'm... I'm so sorry."
"It's okay."

"You killed her and that's fine. Let's go inside for shelter." Emi said walking back inside. That's when Yuto broke down in tears and started yelling with every fiber of his being.
"Yuto!" Tetsu screamed with a terrified expression. His voice barley leaving his mouth, like a desperate attempt for fresh air.

Yuto stopped. He couldn't belive the words he heard. He didn't know if this was the same person anymore. This was a much nicer person. It gave something Yuto had troble truly having... Hope.
"I'm sorry."
Tetsu took a deep breath as he started to smile and speak in a light voice.
"It's okay. It has nothing to do with what's going on right now. Come on. Let's go back and let's things cool down with Emi. I'll make the burial for Mia while you get more sleep. Even though I'm tired as hell. So I need someone to get the sleep I want for me. I'm leaving that to you and I guess Mia as well."
That's when Yuto started to cry again.
