I looked over my shoulder at the girl in the backseat, she was beautiful. I couldn't believe it when she ran into me earlier, her scent had hit me and I had known immediately that she was my mate, but I couldn't understand why she didn't seem to be able to sense it, she had actually seemed more annoyed with me than anything else. I had watched her walk away and realized that I hadn't sensed her wolf, but she had to have one. Wolves didn't get human mates. So I had followed her scent right to the diner she worked at, when she had come to take my order her tantalizing scent had hit me again, reminding me of the smell of rain and honeysuckle. I glanced at her name tag, Rowan, it was a beautiful name. I thought it suited her well. I had to get out of there though, or I was going to mark her right there in front of all these humans. It would bring a world of trouble, so I left her there, and promised myself I would find her later when she was alone. I waited for hours for her to finish at work and then followed her and her friend back to her house. I almost lost it when I realized there was another male there, and that he was going into her room. Trying to calm myself, I waited, and eventually her friends left. I could see her through her window, getting ready for bed, I could wait a while longer, I just had to keep tabs on her. I had almost dozed off when I heard her whimpers cries and snapped awake to see her collapsing on the ground, I took a step toward her, but then stopped, I could feel it, all of a sudden her wolf was unfurling in her mind, taking over and forcing a shift, I had never seen a wolf have their first shift this late before. I must have made a noise, because Rowan's eyes snapped over to me. She didn't have time to do anything though, with a final crack her wolf lunged forward, she looked back at me again, but I had shifted when she did, then she looked down at her own paws and she took off running at full speed.173Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡZP1ASOng0N
Her wolf was fast, and almost comically large considering how small her human form was. Her fur was beautiful, black and so silky it looks like ink, almost fluid. When I finally caught up to her I crouched low to approach her slowly, a twig snapped under my paw and she spun around, growling and me, my wolf didn't like that at all. We had to moves slowly though, so got lower and crawled over to where she was standing sniffing at her. She stopped growling for a moment, and then her wolf's whole demeanor changed. The she wolf starts to approach me slowly and begins sniffing the air around me again. I get up and walk over to her, and she lays down and rolls onto her back, allowing me to rub my scent on her and showing me she acknowledges my dominance as a leader and her male. All of a sudden her wolf backed away from me, I could tell they were talking to each other, and after a moment, Rowan shifted back. I shifted back so I could speak to her too, my wolf was feeling smug at how well his meeting with her wolf went, I hoped Rowan was as receptive now that she knew we were mates. Unfortunately it did not go as well as I hoped and when she ran away I panicked, she couldn't leave me, when I caught her and she began fighting me, my wolf got angry, this female was ours. He was trying to take over. I could feel him right beneath my skin. She was trying so hard to get away, I crushed her to my chest, and scraped my teeth along her throat in warning, but my wolf was screaming at me to mark her. I bit down. I kept thinking about strange the whole situation was as I drove her back to my pack lands, it would take hours to get there, I had found her in Lancaster and we had to make it all the way to Erie, we would stop for the night at my cabin on the lake, before continuing on to Northern Ontario the next morning. My pack was situated in the La Cloche mountains, it was a good territory, since we had so much wooded area in the Killarney Provincial Park to run. It was mostly isolated from humans, the park did attract a lot of hikers but there were miles and miles forest that they would never reach, and my pack had a hidden town we had built right at the base of the mountain, we had expanded from what my Father had built, wolves could work, shop, and go out to eat, without ever having to travel to the human towns, we even had a theater. As the sun crested the horizon, we finally began to approach our destination, I pulled off the main road. Turning down a small winding path, barely big enough for a vehicle, and headed toward my cabin. Looking back at Rowan, I was worried that she hadn't yet regained consciousness, surely she should be awake by now, we had been on the road for five hours. Although I'm sure she would have made the journey a lot more difficult had she been awake. After thirty minutes of driving we reached the cabin, I parked the car and got out, walking around the vehicle and grabbing Rowan from out of the back. She didn't even stir, I cradled her against my chest as I carried her bridle style up to the cabin door, I had to shift her up onto my shoulder more, and couldn't resist rubbing my nose into the crook of her neck and inhaling deeply. God, she smelled delicious. I kicked the door open, and carried her in, gently laying her on the bed of the small one room cabin. I hear the front door shut and Blane's footsteps getting farther away, I feel like I can hear a lot more now. I know he's outside, but I can hear the crunch of each Individual leaf as he steps on them. I open my eyes slowly and look around the small cabin, for someone that claims to be the Alpha, whatever that means, this place isn't very big. He made it sound like he's sooo freaking important, I wonder if he's in a cult or something. Normal people just don't go around kidnapping people. Oh God, what if he's taking me back to wherever the hell his cult is to sacrifice me to some kind of weird wolf gods or something. I get out of bed as quietly as I can, and search around the cabin for anything I can use to aid my escape. Luckily I find a backpack and a few pairs of shoes, I choose some trainers that I can lace tightly to hopefully keep from slipping off my feet, I also find a dark green button down flannel shirt and a pair of jeans that are way to long but I know I can just roll those up to my ankles. Looking around the kitchen area I start rummaging through the cabinets to find anything I can take with me, I don't know how long we were driving or where we even are and I don't want to take anything perishable. I found some granola bars, a few protein snacks, and some bottles of water. Geez, I think to myself sarcastically, someone really knows how to shop. I stuff all these items into my bag quickly, I don't know when Blane will come back, and I want to be long gone when he does. I also just realized that I'm still completely naked. I dressed quickly fighting down the repulsion and embarrassment that my kidnapper saw and held me while I was unconscious and nude. My wolf doesn't like this and tells me I'm being ridiculous, our mate is supposed to touch us. She also tells me that if I would just talk to him and let us be near him, I would feel it too, the attraction that she feels for his wolf. A shudder runs through my body at the thought of his hands on me, and it surprises me that it's not just disgust I'm feeling, there's a tinge of arousal thinking about his hands roaming over my body. My wolf likes this better. "See," she thinks to me, "I told you, we were made for him, and he was made for us. We're supposed to be together." I ignore her, she's very smug right now. "If you want to be with him so much then why aren't you trying to talk me out of running away?" I think back to her. She barks a laugh in my head, "I'm not worried about it, you won't get far on those short human legs, and I'm not going to help you run. I growl out my frustration, you would think that being a werewolf would mean you would have control over both sides of yourself and that just your appearance would change, not that there would be a whole other conscious being in your head with her own thoughts and feelings. It's incredibly annoying to have someone in your head who, since I've met her hasn't agreed with me even once, and has acted like I'm stupid for not understanding something on more than one occasion already. She's quite sassy, almost rude. Done arguing with her I put on my pilfered shoes and lace them up as tightly as I can, they're still way too large, but it's better than nothing. I run as fast as I can for about thirty minutes before settling into a more comfortable jogging pace, my usual speed. My wolf is quiet, just taking in the scenery and not helping in the slightest while I run around feeling like I'm definitely getting lost. I am far away from that cabin now, I know that for sure. At this point I couldn't make my back there if I wanted to. I can't give up now though so I choose a direction and just start walking, hoping I'll come across a road soon. I walk for hours, getting worried when the sun starts going down. I'm gonna die out here, trapped in the woods. Why did I think it would be a good idea to run off by myself in the middle of October. It's freezing out, and as the night progresses it's only going to get colder. I can't stop now though, my wolf still doesn't seem worried, I think of how much easier this would be in wolf skin, but I'm still not fully sure how to shift into a wolf, and she isn't exactly being helpful right now, she's not even paying attention to me. I'm curios though, I sense her growing excitement, and I don't know what the hell she could possibly have to feel excited about right now. I stop walking for a moment, scenting the air for anything that could help point me in the right direction, turning slowly so I can take in the scents from all direction, and freeze. Wafting through the air behind me, something woodsy, with just a hint of spice. I can hear him now, pounding through the forest, howling as he hunts me. I turn back around and sprint, really running for my life now, as my wolf howls, the sound reverberating in my skull, she wants him to catch us. I trip over a hidden tree root and go sprawling on the forest floor, rolling over just as he springs at me, large jaws open wide, fangs dripping saliva.
