It's been a week since I had come to Blane's pack. The night we arrived he had dropped me off at my room, I was dead tired and had fallen asleep immediately. My new room was large, it had been painted a very pretty light violet color, the bed was gigantic, big enough to fit at least four people and the bedding was a darker shade of violet that completed the wall color perfectly. There was a large armoire in the corner and a vanity table against one of the walls, but had been otherwise devoid of decoration.

The morning after our arrival Blane gave me a phone so I could communicate with him and other pack members, and had given me a tour of the pack house, it had about 20 rooms on the main floor, every room had an adjoining bathroom, and there was a large living area with several couches and a huge TV mounted on the wall. It even had a reading corner with multiple bookshelves. The kitchen and dining area was massive, with several tables big enough to accommodate the entire pack when they had to gather for meetings or celebrations.
Our rooms were on the top floor, but the top floor had five other bedrooms, another living area and its own kitchen and dining room. Blane had told me it was for the Alpha and his family, to maintain privacy after any children were born. Which had made me blush profusely. I had never even had sex, let alone thought about children. Blane noticed the blushing and had assured me that we were a long ways off from even having to think about that. Reminding me that we had agreed to take it slow. It made me feel a lot better to know he was willing to wait for all that extra stuff for me.

On the third day he had introduced me to his beta Malcolm and his mate Daria, they lived in the house next door, since they were mated and married and had two small children, they explained that usually only unmated wolves lived in the pack house once they reached the age of 17 to have some independence from their parents. Mated pairs usually moved out into their own homes to start families. I liked Daria immediately, she was two years older than me and reminded me a little of Victoria. Daria was crass and so far a huge perv, which her mate didn't seem to mind at all, we became fast friends. She was also the top female warrior in the pack and was in charge of training the females, she was in charge of my training. Over the next few days we met up in the early morning to meditate for hours, which she explained was important because I needed to become one with my wolf. Instead of treating my wolf like a separate entity in my head, I needed to know her and attempt to merge into one.

Once my wolf and I got on the same page shifting became a lot easier, and Daria and I began running together frequently in our wolf forms, she said it was important to for my wolf and I to learn to trust each other's instincts. By the end of the week my wolf and I were the most in sync we would ever be, this did cause a small problem though, I could hardly separate her wants from my own now. And she wanted Blane.

I woke up to the text alert on my phone, it was Daria reminding me that today was my first day of real combat training with the rest of the pack females.
Daria: Don't forget, training starts at 6:30, and you should get here early so I can introduce you to the other pack memebers
Me: I'm nervous
Daria: You'll be fine, it's just warm ups and then you're only doing practice maneuvers. No combat for you.
Me: Well thank God for small favors
Daria: Thank the goddess anyway

Lying in bed I stared at the ceiling for a few moments hoping that everything goes well today, Blane had been keeping me hidden from that pack until I was ready to meet everyone. Only Daria and Malcolm knew about me and that I was Blane's mate, the rest of the pack was only aware that a new wolf had come to the packlands. Daria had explained that since Blane was the Alpha and ruled the pack that I was going to be the Luna and rule the pack at his side, and therefore had to meet all the other pack members and get to know how things ran around here. I was extremely nervous, I wasn't sure I wanted to be a Luna and didn't really understand all the things that would be involved with that. It was time to stop procrastinating and get my butt out there though. My wolf was excited at the opportunity to train, she was a strong wolf and was less than impressed with my lack of ability to defend myself in human form. Of course once I got past the beginner level of combat in human form I would also begin training in wolf form. Blane wanted me to be able to defend myself in any situation. I was just glad I didn't have to actually fight anyone today and would still be working with Daria, just with an audience this time. I blew out a breath and got out of bed, checking the time and tossing my phone on the bed I began getting dressed in a pair of black leggings, a sports bra, and a tanktop. I pulled my hair up into a loose bun ontop of my head. Looking in the mirror I decided it's as good as its going to get.

Jogging down the path from the pack house to the training grounds, I take a moment to admire how truly amazing this place is, the sun is just beginning to peek over the horizon and the moisture in the air creates a light mist in the thick trees to the left of my path. It's a great place to run, Daria and I had been running through those woods as wolves everyday for the last week, and every day the beauty of it took my breath away. I slowed down as I neared the training grounds and could hear other pack members, I approached slowly and watched the other's milling around and doing warm up stretches. The first thing I noticed is that it's not just females, the males are all here too, Daria catches my attention and comes jogging over to me.

I linked arms with Daria, who was shaking with supressed laughter, and walked away leaving Mia looking damn near homicidal. We reached a secluded spot on the field and Daria began leading me through a series of stretches and combat maneuvers while she walked around me correcting my form. One of the girls I recognized as Harper came jogging over and asked if she could train with me, I looked over at the rest of the girl's who were surrounding Mia and shooting daggers at me with their eyes, I nodded at Harper who jumped into the exercises immediately and made small talk with me.

I whipped my head around and snarled as I saw Mia standing in front of Blane leaning in and running her hand down his chest, he kept backing away but she was moving with him pouting. I stalked over, my wolf was murderous, "how dare she touch our mate, rip her fucking arms off." She was howling her rage in my mind, I grabbed Mia by the arm and hurled her away from him. As I stalked toward her growling I felt Blane's arms curl around my waist and pull me back against him, my wolf and I were practically rabid with rage, she snarled at me, "mark him so everyone knows he is ours." I didn't stop to think for even a second as I turned into his arms and sank my teeth into his throat. Blane groaned and Mia let out a shriek of rage behind us, I pulled away from Blane just as Mia launched herself at me, eyes burning and claws extended. I let my wolf come forward and readied myself for her attack when Blane stepped in the way, keeping me behind his back and caught Mia by the throat. She was enraged, still trying to get to me, so he tightened his hold and let out the most ferocious growl I had ever heard. "If you threaten or attempt to injure my mate again, you will be cast out of this pack."

She glared at me over Blanes shoulder until he shook her to bring her attention back to him, she looked into his eyes for a moment before lowering her head and whispering, "Yes Alpha."

Blane dropped her to the ground and turned around, grabbing my hand he called out to the pack, "training is over," to me he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "lets go home." We walked away hand in hand and didn't look back.
