I'm not going to rant about parenting styles such as the debate whether parents should punish their children or not, however I'm going to rant about my opinion on parents and understanding their children.

I'm constantly debating whether i want children or not i say this because if you grew up and you have trauma you may instinctively put that trauma onto your kid(s) and you may try to live out your dreams throughout your child because you couldn't do that when you where younger.

Parents tend to say they know everything about you however most of the time we only show them what we want them to see, for example with strict parents i advise you to let your teenager be a teenager sometimes because strict parents make sneaky kids. While you're busy being strict (we know you may be doing this to keep them safe however sometimes your child should learn from their own mistakes.) Your child could be finding unsafe ways to do the things you don't want them to do.

Back to trauma I've seen this show ( amine ) called fruits basket i don't want to spoil too much, but however there was this person who was beaten and raised to be manly and masculine because their mother didn't want to raise a woman which the mother was jealous of because they got more attention from the husband/father. So with parents who degrade their children even if your mad because they had a couple bad grades and you decide that you want to call them a failure that could lead to them believing that they are in fact a failure and it's very possible that it could stick with them for a long time.

This is just my opinion on certain things with parenting that i would want other people to debate on and add to, I'm not you so i can't make you understand any of this but hopefully you understand the concept.
