"Help!" I heard a voice yell. I frowned, looking around. It was complete darkness in the alley. But I soon found the source of the voice: an old lady.
"Help! I can't see a thing." I looked around, trying to see if I could do something. Then, I remembered. I stopped breathing for a moment, and glowed green in the darkness.
The lady's eyes widened. "You're magic!" I took a breath again, and grinned. "Not magic. I have a superpower. Imagine if I was Spiderman, but much less useful. Besides, I certainly couldn't stop a-"
"Hands up!" A man shouted. "...Robbery." I finished.
"Hey, who was that?" The old lady asked. I didn't respond. My brain panicked. I got so still...that I stopped breathing. My skin glowed, and I saw the burglar. He panicked, probably assuming that the dark would cover his identity. He immediately ran away to the end of the alley.
I took a breathe again, relieved. "I was wrong." I realized. "Huh? Sorry dear, my hearing's a bit off too." The old woman explained. "Oh, nevermind. Here, I'll help you find the end of this alley."
She nodded gratefully, and I held my breathe until we reached the end. We said our goodbyes, and I soon realized that despite my power, I probably could do just as much as spiderman.
