TW for blood and death
"The pilot-" Mr. Jack Spear interjected, his eyes expressing the shock he felt. "He's dead." The man said. Jack put his hand to his forehead, momentarily pushing back the long locks of hair he had on his head.
The man, a cropped beard and cold eyes, stared at the controls. "Copilot's down too. They've been looking for us, the whole time. They-they shot through the window." Jack looked up to see the two holes in the windows, and the blood on the floor. He had speckles of glistening blood on his beige overalls. "We-I thought we were finished with them." The man nodded no. "Apparently not. The transmissions down, too. They wanted you dead."
Jack gulped. He, the greatest salesmen and bounty hunter to ever face the earth, still had so much to live for. He was only 29. He couldn't die in a plane crash.
His eyes graced every part of the plane, trying to collect himself. He had known he would never make it alive after facing Alandor, but he had done so anyway.
He walked past the aisle, but he saw every face with discontent. "Is this it? Is the pilot okay?" One woman called.
"What was that noise?" He heard one man whisper. Jack breathed slowly, attempting to calm himself. He was flight staff, and he had to act like it. "We cannot currently tell any of the passengers of the status of the pilot or copilot. This is an evolving situation, and we want everyone to remain calm and seated. Is that clear?"
"What about the emergency exit? Can we-"
"You cannot use the emergency exit or any other emergency equipment at this time." Jack insisted. If any one of them used the exit, they would be a target of Alandor. He would kill every woman and child on the plane if he had to.
"Sir, I don't know who you are or what your authority is, but you-you have to tell us the status of the pilot. It's against the law. Do you want to go to jail?" One woman, middle aged with blonde hair and blue eyes, asked. Her voice was as calm as a panicked one could possibly get. "Ma'am, it is not against the law."
"Will we be okay?" A little boy immediately interjected. "All we know is that the situation is evolving. That is all we know. Is that clear?"
Suddenly, a young woman no older than 25 got up. "Tell us if we're not safe. I-I'm getting married after I leave this plane. And so help me god, I will leave this plane. I'm going to get married. I have a future. I need to get married..." The woman seemed to go off on a tangent. One of the children in the aisles burst into tears, and more and more shouting started to commence.
"I'd rather know if we're all dead now than later!" One man, an older one, called. Suddenly, everyone on the plane was making calls, desperately hoping that they could make one last call with there loved ones.
Jack went back into the cockpit. The man was still there, looking out the window. "Hey...can you fly a plane?" The man turned to look at him, and Jack saw the tear flow out of his eye. "Why don't you call your daughter, Jack. Why don't you tell her how much you love her." His stern eyes dashed around.
Jack got out of the cockpit. "Can anyone fly a plane?" He called, his voice almost shrieking. This can't be happening. The passengers went silent. Suddenly, the old man got up, and attempted to open the emergency exit. Jack grabbed him, holding him back.
"The hell's wrong with you?" The old man called. "I either die here or I take my chances!" His voice was raspy, but ferocious like a tiger. Jack managed to get him back into the aisle.
"He'll murder you-he'll shoot you down-" Jack spoke, his voice quieting. Again, the passengers were silent. A few sobs filled the air. "Is that what happened to the pilot and co-pilot?" The young woman asked, the makeup she was wearing carried down her cheeks by her tears. "Is that why you wouldn't let us in there? And now you won't let us go?"
"I-" Jack went silent, his eyes widening as he witnessed what was happening through the window on the other side of the plane. Billionaire, master sniper, he knew his fate now.
