"So you said yes?" Allie asked me the next morning as I got ready for Bradley to pick me up.
"Is it too soon?" I asked her, feeling nervous for the first time since I had said yes. I smoothed out my knee length red dress before turning around to pick up my ear rings.
"Yes it's too soon. What were you thinking?" she replied, reaching for a pair of black heels.
"I don't know. It just—it's weird to think of this—but it just felt right to say yes," I told her as I put on the last ear ring. She sighed as she shoved the heels in my direction.
"Thanks," I whispered as I sat beside her on my bed and put on the shoes.
"I just hope that nothing goes wrong," was all she said. I smiled slightly before wrapping my arms around my best friend in a hug.
"Thanks for worrying about me Allie, but everything will be alright." She pulled away and looked at me.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" she asked causing me to nod. But she didn't look convinced. We spent a few moments looking at each other before she said,
"If he tries to do anything weird, like sell you to his family," I couldn't help but to laugh at the last part, "just text me S.O.S and I'll be there."
Although what she said sounded far from possible, I couldn't fight the feeling of love behind her words and I felt myself hugging her once more as tears began to fall from my eyes.
"Are you crying?" I heard her ask while I hugged her. I nodded my head and immediately, she pulled away.
"You're going to ruin your makeup!" She told me.
And at that moment, I stopped crying as my tears were replaced with laughter.

A few hours later, I stood beside Bradley with a bouquet in hand, as we waited for someone to open the door.
The cool autumn air surrounded us. But oddly, it didn't feel as cold as usual. I turned to Bradley.
"Do you think she'll like it?" referring to his mom and the bouquet in hand.
"I'm sure she will," he replied, smiling at me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
I didn't know the meaning behind white roses but since they were my favorite, I had decided to get them for her. However, as we stood behind the door, I was beginning to have second thoughts.
