“I want you to further probe into this matter.” Jasmine said to John. “So far you did nice work. If you try you sure can know where Tippu is and what he made my brother to see in that palace.”
“We have given the police report and now it is the work of the police. Why you are trying to involve me in this?” they both sat in his room in the chairs facing each other.
“I cannot believe in the police much. I have more confidence on you.” She smiled.
“Thanks.” He nodded his head and got off from the chair and went to the middle of the room. “On one hand I am thinking that it may be better that you don’t worry too much to know what your brother had seen in that room on that day.”
“Why you are thinking like that?” she knitted her brows.
“I cannot explain that. It is just my subconscious suggestion.”
“Nothing doing. I must know about that. There sure would be an explanation to that.” She adjusted in her chair for more comfort. “The only man to help me in this regard and trust heart-fully is you.”
He came to her and kissed on her right cheek. “Thank you for the trust.” And sat again in the same chair opposite to her. After few seconds serious thinking he said “I cannot give any explanation. It is just a feeling. Better you drop this matter completely.”
“I never drop. I must know about it.” she was stubborn.
“But I just don’t know what to do from now on. Where I can find him? Moreover once we have given a police report my intervention in the matter would be considered illegal.”
“It is not at all so. You are over interpreting the matter.” She smiled. “You are going to do in the way I ask you.”
“You are hypnotizing me.” He smiled.
“May be I am.” She laughed. “But you are going to find out the secret we all do want to know.”
“Whatever that thing may be” he paused for a moment looking into her eyes. “Why Tippu wanted your brother to see it?”
“That rogue.” She raged again. “How can I say why he wanted my brother to see it?”
“Calm yourself and try to think without emotion.” He said “Why he wanted your brother to see it?”
She closed her eyes and thought about that for sometime. “No I cannot” she opened her eyes and said.
“He wanted to take revenge on some people I think. If your brother would see the particular thing those particular people on whom he wanted to take revenge get loss. So he did it.” He thoughtfully said.
“Who those people can be?” she asked and clipped her lower lip between her teeth frames. He liked her in that posture much and wanted to hug her and kiss her instantly but he controlled.
“Chief is one of them and whoever he may be he is powerful. Tippu is expecting danger from him.”
Jasmine was listening carefully what he was saying.
“Moreover Tippu did not expect this type of reaction in your brother. He expected the reaction in a different way in your brother after seeing it. I think it upset all his plans.”
‘Good reasoning.” Jasmine nodded her head.
“If my guessing is right.” John said. “That Chief might have done something already to this Tippu.”
“Once again good reasoning.” Jasmine nodded her head. “Still I wish you to know where we can get him.”
“How much you know about Rita and her family?” he suddenly asked her.
“Her father is a family friend to us. I pretty well know about her and her family.” Suddenly anger crept onto her face again. “I become angry whenever I think about her.”
“It seems that you are pretty angry with her because of her past love affair with your brother.”
“Not for that. But because of her infidelity towards my brother. You don’t know how much my brother became upset due to that.” She paused for a moment. “I thought in the beginning that broken love affair was the reason for my brother’s madness.”
“I am having a hunch that Rita and her father might be known about what your brother had seen in that palace and who is that Chief.”
“How and why?” she suddenly became serious.
“I said it is just a hunch. I cannot give the reasons for it.” He said.
She nodded her head. “Partly I am also feeling like that.” She said with a small voice.
“I do want to talk with that family.”
“My God! Are you going to ask them straight about it?” her face immediately contracted with frowns.
“Are you thinking that I am a fool?” he laughed. “I know how to talk with them.”
“One more very, very important thing” Jasmine suddenly said.
“What it is?” John knitted his brows together and made a straight look into her face.
“Mom wants to talk with you. She asked me to tell you to meet her.”
“But for why and what? Did you tell her about our love affair?” there came a troubling expression on his face.
“Yes, I did.” Jasmine nodded her head. “But I did not do it intentionally. I just have to tell during some conversation. Anyhow she knows now that we are in love.”
“Not very bad. Sooner or later she has to be known. May be to give a warning to me to maintain distance from you, she wants to meet me.”
“Cannot you be optimistic at all? She did not appear to me so then.”
“When I have to meet her?”
“You decide. When you want to meet her?”
“Tomorrow evening”
“Alright. I tell her so.” Jasmine nodded her head.

“My God! Is it is true?” after hearing what the Police Inspector said Margaret exclaimed.
“Unfortunately it is.” The police inspector said. “He was butchered like an animal and dumped into an old well. Just because of the foul smell he could be found out. Only by the driving license in his pocket we could know that he was the person need to be found out.”
She breathed deep and hissed out “Whatever may be his mistakes I never wished him to die like this.”
“I am not thinking like that.” Dibbu said angrily. “That bastard got what he deserved. After knowing he was the reason for our Williams Sir’s madness, I have lost all my love and affection on him.”
Jasmine also became aghast on hearing that. “Shall we say this to our brother mom?” she asked her.
“Why do we say this at all to him? He does not remember even his name. Moreover he becomes himself more and more disturbed if he knows this.” Margaret said.
“I agree with you.” Jasmine said.
After talking some more time with Margaret, the Inspector left.
“Have you asked John to talk to me?” Margaret asked her daughter straightly.
“He meets you in the evening mom.” Jasmine said. Hearing that, Margaret nodded her head.
***
“So, you are in love with my daughter.” Once they both have settled in her room Margaret asked him straightly. She did not let Jasmine stay in her room then.
“Sure I am.” He smiled. Even he was not feeling pessimistic, he felt little tensed. ‘I am often doing that also to her.’ He thought in himself.
Suddenly the seriousness in her face was vanished. “If you are thinking that I am going to angry with you, you are just mistaken.” She smiled. “I know you for a long time. I have a good report from Williams also on you. I am really happy that you are in love with my daughter.”
“Thank you very much.” He said with a smile. So far from her facial expression from the beginning, he expected it like this.
“My son and I also know you for a considerable period of time and you are a nice man. If it is with you my daughter is in love why I do object to that?”
“How nice of you! I am really feeling very happy.” A happy expression came onto his face.
“But she is very sensitive. She becomes upset for very pretty things also.”
‘You don’t know how much sensitive she is on the bed.’ He involuntarily smiled. ‘Do you know about your daughter more than me?’ he thought in himself.
“You are smiling for what?”
“Just for nothing. I am feeling too happy.”
“She has become pretty upset because of her brother’s condition.” Suddenly her face clouded with worry.
‘That much is true.’ He thought in himself. “I agree.” He said. “It is pretty reasonable also.”
She nodded her head. “We both have become completely upset on that. We just don’t know why it happened so. The recent information that Tippu made him see something in that place which caused that, made us even more unsettled.” She paused for a moment and said. “I must thank you for your trouble to go to Tippu’s village and came to know about that all.”
“You need not thank me, once Jasmine requested for that I thought I have an obligation for her.” John said seeing carefully into her face. “But still we cannot know what he had seen in that palace on that day.” He paused for a moment and then said again. “Now I am on the mission to know about what he had seen in that palace on that day. Jasmine requested me to know that also.”
Margaret startled at once on hearing that. “Jasmine asked you to do that? Really you are trying to know what my son had seen on that day?”
“Of course. I am confident I can know about that.” John said firmly.
“No.” Margaret’s voice shivered. “I am not thinking that it is a wise move.” Her voice was low.
“Why you are thinking like that?” John asked her surprisingly.
She hissed out heavily. “It has such an effect on Williams. What is the guarantee it does not have such an effect on Jasmine also?”
“May be you are right. But Jasmine is adamant to know about it.”
“And that Tippu was murdered like that! Those people with whom Tippu conspired are appearing very dangerous! They may try to do harm to you also.” Suddenly there came a fearing expression on her face. “I am thinking whatever Williams saw in that palace on that day has a link with that Chief also. He did not leave Tippu. If you try to know about it he may not leave you either.”
So far Jasmine reported everything to her mother also.
“I shall be in my care. Don’t worry.”
“I just don’t know who this Chief is, what link Tippu has with him, what he made my son saw in that palace! I just cannot understand and it is all quite puzzling! In my own palace how something linked with those people could be present to be seen by my son? What happened to it just by the time I went there? I cannot understand any of this and it is giving me a very heavy headache.” Rubbing her forehead with her right hand fingers Margaret said.
“You are right. It is all quite puzzling in fact.” John nodded his head.
Margaret was about to say something but then Dibbu entered into that room with two coffee cups in a tray.
“Get out. Why the bloody hell you entered into my room without knocking before?” Margaret shouted loudly.
John astonished on hearing her shouting so. He had never seen her that angry. It was not just anger, there was anxiety and tension also in her face.
“Sorry madam. I forgot.” He put the tray on the table there in the middle of their both chairs and turned back.
“Never dare to come into my room like this again.” She shouted once more.
Dibbu moved away fast from that room.
“Oh, I am very sorry.” After few seconds she turned towards John and said. “I am upset. I should not have shouted like that.”
“Its alright. I can understand.” John thoughtfully said.
***
“It is not unusual. I don’t know why my mother gets anger like that sometimes.” Jasmine smiled and said. “Particularly on Dibbu. I asked her not to get angry on him so. But she never heard me.”
“Do you know where from this Dibbu has come?”
“No chance. He has been in our house from the point of time even before my brother’s birth. Very loyal and staunched. Only that much I can say. ” she said
He paused for a moment looking into her face so. “Do you know about your maternal grandparents? I mean your mother’s mother and father?”
Immediately there has come an irritating expression on her face.
“This is quite a useless question, is it is not?” she said angrily. “What difference it would make whether I know about them or not?”
“Just curiosity. Why should not I try to know about? You are my lover and we both are going to be married?”
“My mother has come from a very poor family. Her parents died few days after her marriage.”
“Then how it happened that your mother married your father who was such a rich man?”
“My mother joined at my father’s office as his assistant. They both fall in love and my father married my mother. It has come like that.” She smiled.
“Then your mother proved herself. After your father’s death she became the backbone to the Mammooth. She is indeed great!” John said.
“You can say that again.” She laughed.
