(Azaelea's Point Of View)
I was shocked, to say the very least, when I was awoken from my sleep by noisy moving trucks. I groaned, rolling over in the big bed, and trying to go back to sleep. I succeeded because I awoke again a few hours later, at roughly eleven am. Stretching, I reluctantly rolled out of bed and took a quick shower. I was saddened to see that my purple hair had faded a bit more, but I shrugged it off. I dressed in galaxy leggings and an over-sized black sweater. Gazing out the window, I was surprised to see so many girls filing into the large house. Our house is almost as big as the house next door, but not quite. It works, though, as there is enough room for our family of four.
Alex's room is right next to one of the windows, close enough to jump from one ledge to another. I decided to test that theory later, after my morning chores were complete. Kidding, kidding, I don't have morning chores. I make my way down to the kitchen, where our chef, Jacques, has already prepared breakfast. I thank him and sit next to Maddie, who is enjoying fluffy pancakes, whereas I am served a bowl of homemade oatmeal. Dad walks in with the newspaper, sipping a mug of coffee. He has work soon, but he always tries to spend a bit of time with us each morning over breakfast. Alex shuffles into the room, his new kitten following him. Creampuff mews violently, obviously wanting attention. Jacques smiles and sets a small saucer of formula down for the kitten, who laps it up excitedly.
"We're glad you decided to join us, Alex. How are my three little flowers?" Dad smiles, setting the newspaper down carefully, not wanting to spill anything on his breakfast.
Maddie and I smile, but Alex rolls his eyes.
"Has anyone met the new family?" I say through bites, trying to mask my excitement.
No one answers, and I sigh. I finish eating and tuck my chair in, retreating to the library. Huge bookcases tower around the vast room, located in the basement. I walk over to the Young Adult Fiction shelf, selecting a random novel and finding a cushioned chair in a brightly lit corner. I read until I'm tired of reading, and I feel drained a bit, but the story itself was so intriguing. I put the book back on the shelf and sneak into Alex's room. I wrinkle my nose at the stench, noting the piles of clothes on the floor and the tissues in the trashcan. Gross.
I slip the window open, perching quietly on the ledge. I can feel the anxiety of doing something so risky bubble in my stomach. I almost back out, but my curiosity gets the best of me and I leap onto the other house's windowsill. I pull out a paperclip, unlock the window and quietly pul it up. I hold my breath, letting it out slowly as I walk on her plush carpet. The girl in question is asleep on the bed. Her room is large and mostly taken up by bookshelves, though she also had several dressers and tables. It looks cozy. I caught sight of a pile of decorations in the corner, which she had yet to hang up. Posters of her favorite bands and different paintings rested there, and I smile, knowing much more about this mysterious girl. She awakes suddenly, maybe on account that I just accidentally tripped over her cat, or maybe something else. She glares at me with pure hatred, her half brown, half blonde hair cascading messily over her shoulders. She looks confused, but mostly angry.
"What the hell do you think you're doing in here? I thought I locked my window!" She growls.
I step away cautiously, a sly smile finding its way to my face. "You did."
Slipping out of her window again, I pull it tightly shut behind me and lock Alex's window as well so she'll fail if she tries to get through. Grinning, I walk to my room and lay down on the floor. Creampuff decides that she is going to walk all over me, and I groan slightly as she steps on my stomach and chest. I sit up, which causes the small kitten to claw to my shirt. I set her down, laughing, and report down for dinner.
Jacques makes steaks for all of us, which we thank him for. I eat quickly and quietly with my siblings, as dad is not yet home from work. He usually gets home around ten, when we would already be sent to bed. I leave the table and trudge up the stairs to my room, where I start sketching a new painting. At around nine thirty, I'm finished with the drawing of a girl with half brown and half blonde hair. I chuckle to myself, realizing that if she ever made it over here that she would be immensely creeped out. I set it down on my small easel and collapse on my bed, not bothering to change out of my clothes.1169Please respect copyright.PENANApPQ0vB5Ut9
My Sunday was spent staring at the walls in pure boredom. I skipped breakfast and lunch, not bothering to go downstairs. I feel like my eyes might bleed from staring at my room for so long. I grunt, stand up, and stretch. I walk into the hallway, searching for the right closet. I look through two before I find the painting closet. I take out a colorful sheet and a few colors. I waddle back to my room, my arms full, and I commence painting. The sketch itself had taken several hours, so I wasn't sure how long actually painting it would take. I had just finished both sides of the girl's hair when Maddie burst into my room, telling me it was dinner time.1169Please respect copyright.PENANA3tTzuFEosY
Dinner was roast chicken and mashed potatoes. I ate quickly, wanting to work more on my painting. I climbed up the stairs and slipped on my apron, as to not get my normal clothing wet. Her lips were a light pink, and her eyes were a dark brown, almost the same shade as her pupils. Yawning, I check my phone: nine thirty. I set the paintbrush down in the dirty water and change into a long shirt to sleep in. 1169Please respect copyright.PENANASTQ1xchIcG
The morning comes quickly, my alarm waking me noisily. I groan, but I get out of bed anyways. Dressing in ripped jeans and a cloud shirt, I tuck my hair into a neat bun and slip on boots. I grab my backpack, thankfully already prepared, and I run down the stairs, as I'm afraid I might be late on my first day back. Jacques rolls his eyes and hands me a plate will toast and cheesy eggs.
"Thanks, Jacques!" I call out as I rush towards the car.
Oliver, our driver, greets me as I board the car. I bid him good morning and eat my breakfast in the back seat, waiting for Alex. Maddie sits next to me, eating a bowl of mixed fruit. Alex arrives finally, carrying a plate with eggs and a pear. Oliver starts driving, and we arrive at school in a few short minutes. I set my now empty plate on the built in table and climb out of the car. I step into the large building, refreshed, and I begin the journey of finding homeroom.
