Maeve had many questions regarding werewolves, and Treyton answered every single one. He enjoyed explaining everything about his kind and their world. The conversation and questions lasted three hours until Treyton felt his phone vibrate. He also realized the time and knew the Christmas town and markets would open in a few minutes. It was noticed that Aidoneus sent him a text; Treyton excused himself to one of the rooms.
Once alone, Treyton read Aidoneus's text.
Aidoneus: "Hey, Pops. Could you call me when you get the chance? I have something urgent to tell you."
The text message concerned the Alpha. Treyton dialed his son's phone and waited until there was an answer. After a couple of rings, there was an answer. "Hey, Pops. Sorry to bother you with your time with your mate."
"Don't worry, son. It would be best if you were happy to know that I showed her my true form. She was shocked but eventually became understanding." He sighed in relief, " I truly believe Maeve and I can hang out for the Christmas celebrations. This is why I am considering introducing her to the pack in a couple of days."
It was quiet on the other end until Aidoneus broke the silence. "Wow, I'm so glad that everything went well. Also, do you think it's an actual good idea to have Maeve be introduce to our pack so soon? I, mean, it's good that she accepts our kind, but you two are still dating and-"
"I understand your concern, son. I know Maeve and I can get through many hardships together. We'll still take our time since I want her to get used to our kind." An idea came to mind. "However, if I wanted you and Maeve to meet for a dinner, would you be interested?"
Treyton heard his son's hesitant breathing. He hoped Aidoneus would be open to the idea. "S-Sure, I guess that would be okay. I'm going to have to meet her either way."
"Great, I'm so happy, son. Anyway, you said that you had something important you wanted to tell me about." Treyton could hear his son's breathing; he was nervous. The Alpha grew concerned, fearing his son did something he shouldn't. "Son, what happened?"
"Pops, remember I told you that I have a mate. We met today, and I found out some things about her. It's more likely about a particular predicament she's in. The thing is, Persefone, my mate, has an ex who put a chip on her phone. We unfortunately met, and Persefone looked scared of him. I fear that he might hurt my mate, Pops." Aidoneus growled. "If something were to happen to Persefone, I'm not afraid to have blood on my hands. Since I know you don't want that to happen, I came up with a solution, but I need your approval." The young werewolf then told his Father about his plans.
After listening intently to Aidoneus's plan, Treyton was slightly hesitant. Showing one's form to other humans besides one's mate is strictly prohibited. It would lead to exile from a pack. Aidoneus sounded confident in his plan, but Treyton believed in his son; he was intelligent. "Very well, you have my permission. Are you certain you want to take Garret and Trinidad?"
"Yup, I'm sure."
"Very well, be careful, son. I will see you when I arrive back home and we will discuss about dinner." Father and son hung up; Treyton wondered if he was right to let his son go on with his plan. However, Aidoneus was worried about his mate's safety; if Treyton were in his son's position, he would have done the same thing.
Walking out of the room, Treyton noticed Maeve turning and looking at him. "Is everything okay?"
"My son called, telling me there was a situation. I don't think I told you this, but he found his mate."
Maeve perked up as she stood. "Oh, right! I almost forgot! Persefone told me that she was dating Aidoneus, your son! Persefone and I work together! She told me one time, fearing that I wasn't going to be accepting. Although, I'm just happy that the man Persefone is dating is your son. I imagine that he is a good man like you."
A blush came across Treyton's face; he cleared his throat. "Wow, I guess I was the last one to know. I wonder if Aidoneus didn't tell me about your friend if he were afraid I would reject his relationship. Either way, I would be happy for him; he always wanted to find his mate." The Alpha walked closer to Maeve and slowly wrapped his arms around her. His action slightly surprised her, but Maeve couldn't resist. "Maeve, since we are still dating and you are slowly getting used to my true identity and kind. I-I was hoping we could have dinner with my son, Aidoneus. If the time comes when we become official, I want you two to meet."
Meeting Aidoneus was something Maeve didn't expect. She was getting used to Treyton being a werewolf and discovering more about his community. However, if she and Treyton were to become serious, then meeting Aidoneus would happen. Maeve couldn't help but be curious about the young man since Persefone was dating him. "A-Alright, that will be nice. Besides, I want to see how your son is. My friend, Persefone, had a difficult ex-boyfriend."
The mood dwindled. "Yes, my son told me that he and your friend went to an event today, but they had the unfortunate event of meeting the ex."
"They did!? How!? Is Persefone okay?" Maeve had so many questions and concerns for her friend. When she first met Persefone's ex, she knew something was off about him but didn't want to be too quick to judge. Whenever Persefone spoke of her experiences, her suspicions became accurate. Maeve tried to warn Persefone, but only when her friend caught Edgar cheating did Persefone break it off.
"Aidoneus didn't say if anything terrible happened, but it would seem that she was frightened. It was found that the ex put a chip on her phone, which tracked where she was. My son was with her, so nothing terrible happened."
Maeve sighed but couldn't help but feel worried. "Poor Persefone, even with Aidoneus around, her ex will try to find ways to get to her." She noticed Treyton smirk, "What's happening? Why are you smirking?"
"My son also felt that the ex might try something, so he devised a plan to scare him away from Persefone." Treyton explained his son's plan, and Maeve listened intently; a smile slowly crept on her lips. "However, he will ask one of my friends to find the address where he lives so the plan can be put in motion."
"Oh, I know the address. Persefone once asked me a favor to mail out a gift she bought for him for his birthday. I still have the confirmation email on my phone." The two separated as Maeve got her phone while looking for the email. Once found, she showed it to Treyton, who then texted Aidoneus the information; the information was sent. "Do you think his plan will work?"
Treyton chuckled. "I know it well. Cowards who try to act mighty are always the easiest ones to scare. Are you ready to go to the Christmas town and markets?" The Alpha went to the door and opened it.
"Always."
