"You don't talk?" Lindy asked as she held my hands together while walking me to therapy. She does way too much talking for my taste.

Her grey hair was in a tight bun, pushing her face back. It made her wrinkles even more apparent. She is sweet, I admit it but listening to her rant about how much I look like her daughter scares me. Seeing I have a unique face... Poor daughter. Lindy's hands cupped around my wrists seeing how she doesn't believe in handcuffs which I'm thankful for. Her hands were leathery and right now the cool metal sounds more comforting. Plus, her nails are sharp.

"Here you go, they'll page me when you're getting out. I'll be here waiting for you! Have fun, Adaline!" She chirped, I forced a smile and entered the room.

This is like an old prison or something seeing that there are steel bars surrounding the walls. The windows are caged and the grey cement bricks are menacing. I gulped in all my fear and heard the guard lock the door behind me. Crud. That means I'm the last one here and that means people are waiting on me. I spun around trying to find the group and found a white cloth at the corner of the cell. Behind all the bars. Great.

I shuffled over to the group where insanes slouched in metal fold out chairs. Wow, make me go to one of these places and not even somewhat decent seating. I would click my tongue in disappointment although I don't even do that.

Dillan had her foot on one beside her and stared everyone else down. I grinned to myself and since she was facing away from me, I'm able to sneak up on her. I jabbed my fingers into the crook of her neck which had her scrunch up her shoulders and swing her foot off of the seat. All the guards seemed armed and attentive, now staring at me. I made a small glare and sat down in the seat where Dillan smacked me in the back of the head.

"Are you an idiot?" She whispered in my ear like what I did could be the end of the world.

A quick glance at her made me notice the concern in her black orbs. I shrugged and slouched back in the seat, letting the cold metal seep through my shirt. All the inmates were staring at a girl with a clipboard who seemed ten times older than her actual age. My eyes traced everything about her, she had crow's feet, a wedding ring, worn out shoes, ironed white button up shirt and pencil skirt, and tights with runs. Yeah, I know, sounds creepy but if I can't say what I want, might as well make judgements in my head. Looks like her husband is wanting a divorce with her.

The woman ran her hand through her hair and then glanced back down to her clipboard. She must've transfered to one of the infamous mental hospitals with the insane, considering that she's new. "Hello, I'm Clair and I'm your new group therapist. I want to explain the greatness of doing group therapy versus one on one ther-"

"Can it, lady! The ward had me come down here so I could get out faster. Can we have a social hour?" A man yelled. I glanced to him. He had pink rings around his eyes. He seemed distressed, I tilted my head and noticed that his hair stayed rustled and that his fingernails were now stubs. Nervous about something. His knuckles are also red and bloody like he was punching the cafeteria's wall. Every other room is padded- except for room 304, but we can explain that later.

Clair suck in a sharp breath and she re-gripped her clipboard. Her first day isn't as perfect as she hoped. I have no way to express sympathy or even have the desire to do so, so I glanced out of the window. The metal bars were getting rusty, they were thin but were so close together, there's no way I can break out. Dang nabbit.

"Why don't you start us off then? Tell us your name and why you're here." She answered like he was normal.

"Okay, just to get this freaking thing over with. I am Herbert Fergson. I'm here because I tried to drown my kid. Demons possessed me though! It wasn't me!" He cried in hysteria.
534Please respect copyright.PENANAiA6MLnxBh0
He's new here, his wife/lover doesn't believe him about the demon, and now he will never meet his child again. The finger nail stubs make sense. Dillan cast a glance towards me, and I returned it. Her black orbs were full of disbelief and judgement. Her white hair was flowing down her shoulder in a fishtail.

I forced a smile and then crossed my arms over my chest. Clair was writing in her notebook, seeing how fast she was writing, no doubt that whatever she is writing is in pure chicken scratch. It's okay, I have the same handwriting. I turned to stare back at Herbert, he seemed angry. The guards were extra attentive on him while relaxing on watching me.

"Next," Clair mumbled while her eyes never left her notebook. I yearned to see what she was writing, listening to people complain about their problems is bad enough as it is.

"My name is Jillian Crestian, and I think I'm suicidal and homicidal," the girl next to Herbert introduced. She had her hair cut into a pixie cut which fit her well seeing how small she was. She cast everyone a smile that those actors and actresses only dream of having when they walk the red carpet.

Everyone broke out into a round of applause although she could kill us right now. I glanced around and saw that rain was falling. I closed my eyes and had to tell myself it's not real. My shirt got soaked, The cold droplets lay on my skin. I shivered and yelled at myself to snap out of it. The rain stopped even though I was still soaking wet, my hair clung to my neck like a wet dog and my shirt was making me freeze. I opened my eyes and saw the rain wasn't there. No one was looking at me, so I wiped my face trying to get the water off of my face.

"You okay?" Dillan asked, I nodded and gathered up my soaking white hair and let it cascade down my shoulder. Dillan seemed worried, she doesn't know about my episodes.

The group was small, two more people went but I couldn't listen for too long because of the weather my mind was making. And the blood flooding the floor. By the time it was at my ankles, I was biting my lip hard trying to not scream. The thick liquid pooled around me, and I watched as everyone else seemed natural, like blood wasn't crawling up their legs. Lucky them.

Clair clapped and for once glanced up from her notebook and pointed to the girl next to Dillan, "I'm Melanie and I'm here because of depression." I chuckled to myself. In my mind, I sometimes call Dillan "Melanie" because of her love of Melanie Martinez and sometimes she calls me Halsey.

Everyone clapped and I know Dillan is next, during the small break before she has to go, Dillan glanced at me and cast me a bewildered look. I sighed and cupped her hand before giving her a warm smile. The blood is soaking my already wet from the rain pants.
534Please respect copyright.PENANAY2bFAZaOGL
"You?" Clair pointed to Dillan with a grin.
534Please respect copyright.PENANAa0XKSijSKv
Dillan frowned. Clair's in for a treat. "To heck if I know."
534Please respect copyright.PENANAINOauLmDJQ
I facepalmed. The blood is now around my waist. Take deep breaths. I closed my eyes and clenched my hands into fists. No one is looking at me, and for once I'm glad that Dillan is talking back. Clair had her eyes wide open in bewilderment. Everyone answered right away, I guess she thought this would go fast moving. At least I won't be the one to tell her. Ha, get it? Sorry, I have to look on the bright side. The burn on my neck and jaw line tingled as the blood rose to my chest.

Clair returned to her somewhat perky self and asked, "Do you have anger issues?"
534Please respect copyright.PENANAlwEMfsTFbV
"No. If I did I would of tackled you to the ground by now, right?" Dillan has this talent of making people laugh, she somehow made Clair laugh. Clair. The woman who is a nervous train wreck of nerves.

Breathe.

"You're in a wheel chair. I'm sure you would of driven me over by now, not tackled me. So you've got no reason to be here?"

Everyone clapped as I took a final gasp of breath before the blood drained out of the room. A lot of the people were rooting Dillan on, assuming she could play the role of Katniss and become a revolutionary. Maybe I should start calling her Washington, rallying up people like soldiers. Dang.

Clair points in my direction and my heart stops. "Why are you here?" The blood drained from my face, not that I could tell. I'm soaked in blood, my once white locks are stained red. The blood on my forehead is drying and turning flakey. I cast Dillan a nervous glance but she wasn't even looking my way, she was clutching her hands into fists as people stared at me. I wondered what she was about to say, 'Have you ever seen burns before?' or 'Wow! You have eyes! Who would of thought!'.

"That's my sister, Eddie. She's here because she's a mute." I nod and her face contorts to one of pride. I wanted to add schizophrenia and mental breakdowns to the list but I have never opened my mouth and a word came out. If one word comes out, then all my secrets follow the example and believe me, I am trusted with secrets because everyone knows I'll never tell. But I always remember. Think my brain is slosh? I'm afraid you're the one that's brain dead, not me.

I love Dillan. She's the best sister ever seeing she's the only person who doesn't treat me like a baby. And she will talk, many people don't bother.

Crud.

The floor fell, well, looks like I'm floating in blackness. I can't hear anyone else or see anything but black. All I feel is the wind in my face as I'm falling down the rabbit hole. I'm like this for a long time seeing that no one can break me out so I try to seem calm even though I'm plummeting and it seems like my lower organs are trying to reach my brain.

"Adeline! Adeline! Wake up!" I broke out of sudden death to see Lindy waving her hand in my face. Yippee, back to solitude, Just fantastic. More hours of staring at a padded white wall in solitude. It's not my fault my last helper was a total jerk and I kicked him where the sun don't shine. So now I get to be confined from the rest of society in solitude.

Lindy cupped my hand and I spun around to see Dillan watching me in horror. I cast my eyes to her leg, she's not wearing her prosthetic so you can see the stub. I was lucky, I got a bad burn.
534Please respect copyright.PENANAm5nqafSsul
Lindy grabbed my hands and hoisted me up, I felt tears dwell in my eyes. What did I do? On the way back, memories of the fire and the evil laughter echoed in my mind.

All I wanted to scream was that I'm sorry.

"You froze, and didn't breathe. Are you okay?" She paused for a second before adding in an exasperated tone, "Wait, you don't talk. I forgot."

'Because all of your friends are chatty cathy's,' I snapped back in my head. I seriously am going to die here. Sheltered here since I was six.

Mom begged for me to go, Dad pleaded with every place possibly yet they took Dillan with me when they finally said yes. That wasn't part of the deal. I'm pretty sure they are going to run some experiments on us, like we are guinea pigs. Perk of being twins and one of them being mentally insane and the other being wrongly accused.
