You come across a village horribly afflicted by the plague. Death and despair fill every sight, every sound, and every putrid smell. After conversing with what's left of the townsfolk, you hear that the only family that hasn't been afflicted are the Harrisons, who live up on yonder farm. Even in a time of mass plague and terrible crop weather the Harrisons seem to be doing quite well.
Excited of the prospect of a possible remedy, or even a way to become immune to the plague, you decide to visit the Harrisons to investigate. But shortly after arriving and questioning him about it, the farmer proclaims he doesn't want you in his farmstead and closes the door on you.
Defeated, you turn and begin the trek back to town, but stop when you notice something peculiar out in the fields. You trudge through the mud and over the fences to get closer to the crops, and then are shocked at what you find.
Dead human flesh has been used as the crops fertilizer, it seems. It has been chopped up so finely, you couldn't tell at first, but on closer inspection you could clearly see a human finger here, a toe there, as well as a few teeth. It suddenly hit you, the Harrisons are the main supply of grain for the village, it's no wonder the sickness has spread.
From here, I suppose you have a choice. You could try blackmailing the farmer. You could do nothing, leave the town and try to find the cure to your ailment elsewhere. Or maybe your conscience gets the better of you, and you spend a little more time on your journey to fetch the town guard and aid them in apprehending this evil, opportunist farmer.
