I needed to hurry up, I don't know why but I knew that I needed to hurry up. This was so confusing, reversing the inter-dimensional portal so that we can get back to Earth. I looked back to see her still fighting the hyenas, although it was no longer a fight, she was getting mauled into pieces. I needed to hurry up. My hands were shivering as I tried to reconfigure those numbers, trying to solve the puzzle.
I could see her bones now, her flesh ripped apart and dangling in the mongrel's mouth. I wanted to tell her to hold on for awhile longer but she doesn't even look alive now. The mutts started to growl at me as they started to prowl closer.
"Oi! You dumb dogs, I'm still alive," she coughed, she barely had any flesh on her, I don't understand how she is still alive but I knew she was buying me time and I had to hurry.
"Get the girl!" the pack leader howled as it commanded the other canines to ravage my poor friend. She was of such a tiny build that people often mistaken her for a prepubescent child. She was only 15 but she had the heart of a lion. I on the other hand, only had the brains, yet it wasn't enough for me to get the damn portal working, I was such a liability.
She was still alive, although she cannot be recognized as human anymore. She was a huge bloody mess but still I could still hear her screaming in pain. My fingers were fumbling as I entered code after code and still had another 3 years of decoding to go before I can get the damn machine working, I needed to hurry up.
She was a skeleton now, every last bit of meat eaten away. Her purple eyes eaten, her pale flesh eaten, everything was eaten away down to the bone. The hyenas gave off a sickly laugh, it was a mixture of crude psychotic laughter and a necrophiliac getting excited by a corpse. I was dead now, surely I was dead.
"Dumb mutts! Can't even do a job right!" a voice escaped her skull. She was still alive, but how? Whatever you're doing, please, just awhile longer. I did a few more tinkering and suddenly, sparks started flying all over. It worked! It worked!
Inter-dimensional police squads immediately stormed out of the portal and started shooting the mutts. I ran over to my friend. She was laying there lifeless.
"Hey! We made it!" There was no response
"Hey! Wake up! We made it!" I started fearing the impossible. Could she be dead? How could she have lasted this long just to die in my arms?

A/N: I know this is one weird story, but I legitimately had this dream. I don't know the girl's name but I knew it has 3 letters. I don't know what any of it means but it is one of my most significant dreams. It is much sadder in my head when she died, I don't know why, dreams just screw with your head that way I guess.
