It was pretty sudden. All of the sudden. Everything. All at once. But I was here, or there, I don't know. I'm somewhere. My heart feels light and my chest feels heavy with excitement, I feel the weight on my shoulder from a half-worn backpack with everything I'd want in it. And when I look back ahead of me, the dusty trail ending abruptly, there was a canyon, and at the bottom was water so clear and still it could be mistaken for glass, but I knew otherwise, somehow. Below the water was the rocky flats of the canyon floor, no fish was swimming, but it seemed so alive! Dropping my backpack with everything in it, I jump, falling towards the bottom of the canyon, tumbling downward, downward, downward, further and further. And the water welcomes me, still undisturbed as my body crashes into it.
