"Don't get the wrong idea... I'm here because, uh, I had nothing to do." Sheldon said uncomfortably as he leaned against a tree. Obviously, that was a lie. He was running away from something.
The girl nodded slowly, clearly, she didn't believe him. She gave him a speculation look, as she spun her umbrella around.
"...nice weather we're having," Sheldon said with a crooked smile.
She rested one hand on her hip and raised one brow, her eyes looking around at the rain that was constantly pouring around them. The sky was completely covered in clouds, and in the background, you would be able to hear the frogs croaking in delight
"...Yes, the weather is very good." Awkwardly, Sheldon switched his gaze from her narrowing eyes to the canopy above the tree. Although, it was a mistake because bits of the water fell onto his glasses. "Gah!" he had just cleaned them a while ago.
All of the sudden, he felt a tiny rock smash against his head.
"WHY!" he rubbed his head and groaned in pain. It was small, but it was like getting hit with a marble, still not a good experience.
He opened his eyes and sent a small glare towards the ginger-haired girl, who was also giving him the same look. It was a bit of a surprise since he never really saw another expression on her other one with a smile or curiosity.
She was probably mad because she knew that he was lying. "Okay... okay, please don't hit me with any more rocks..." his eyes widened when he saw a rock thump down onto the ground from behind her. She was holding a bigger rock in her hands... what.
Umbrella girl sighed in relief and returned to her former smile and bright eyes. With a twirl, she gestured for him to continue speaking.
"I... was going to go somewhere today," Sheldon said still not meeting her eyes. "My auntie wanted to show me to the neighbors and so a small gathering was going to happen today. I didn't even know we had neighbors... I didn't want to go sooo I ended up here."
He heard a giggle from the other side of the road and it made him frown. However, he guessed that it was something to laugh about. He was afraid of other people even though he was already at this age.
"I know that my Aunt means well. She just wants me to make friends, but I don't really want to." Sheldon rested his chin on his hand, "I don't really know how to talk to normal people."
At the corner of his eye, he saw her pointing at herself.
"Well, you're not exactly what I would call a normal person. I'm still not even sure that you're a real person at all, but considering the rock that you threw at me felt very real, perhaps."
She flipped her hair and grinned, suddenly acting like she was the best person in the world.
"You shouldn't consider what I said as a compliment..." Sheldon sweat-dropped. He sighed, "Talking with you is very difficult. I'm the only one making a conversation."
Ginger shrugged and spun her umbrella once again. A few seconds later, she pointed at her mind, and then at him.
"Uh... you're thinking about me?" Sheldon asked awkwardly.
She shook her head and did it again, this time tilting her head first before going for the rest.
"You are curious about what I'm thinking about?" at her nod, he said, "It's not really any of your concern... just a few things is all." he sighed, "There aren't a lot of things to do here besides checking out the scenery... something I've come to enjoy." the girl had to squint, but she saw it. It was small and barely noticeable, but it was there.
A smile.
With a grin, she winked to her butterflies, giving them an order that only they could understand, and watched as they fluttered away from underneath her umbrella into the unsheltered rain. This, of course, caught Sheldon's attention because it wasn't often that the butterflies left her.
He watched as they circled around a small patch of grass in front of him, seeing an orchid of al things growing from the area at a speed that shouldn't be called natural. His eyes went bug-eyed at the final transformation, the stage where it bloomed. 727Please respect copyright.PENANAyLzQYDTfMF
Sheldon looked back and forth from the newly-born flower to the ginger-haired girl, his mouth agape. "I... I must be seeing things again..." he said more to himself than to her, although it sounded as if he didn't really believe what he was saying. "I'm seeing more crazy things. Again. It was a hallucination." but when he saw her snickering face, he clamped up and frowned, "Things don't make sense when I'm around you." he whispered to himself, although she heard it. 727Please respect copyright.PENANAXM8sN5w2gH
She grabbed his attention when she was starting to wave around. She pointed at her favorite blue butterfly that was the only one who had yet to retreat back to her umbrella and grinned. The butterfly started to flutter to the opposite direction back into the forest, making Sheldon confused. 727Please respect copyright.PENANABeUXxVSr6B
"You... want me to follow it?" she nodded, "But what about you? The rain hasn't ended yet." she ushered him forward with her gestures, trying to make him get a move on, "Alright, alright... please don't hit me with another rock." with a wince he stood up with a sigh, he was too tired for this. 727Please respect copyright.PENANAK90RwJtrIw
The further he went into the forest, he couldn't stop himself from looking back a couple of times to see if the ginger girl was still across the street, and each time she was still holding on to that umbrella with a soft smile on her face. She never left.
Through shrubbery, sticks, thick bark, the muddy ground, and the rain, Sheldon was still following the butterfly through the small forest. It wasn't as if the forest was thick or anything, it was easy to move in it, and see ahead, but you wouldn't want to get lost in here... especially during dark.
It took a little while because wherever she wanted to take him it wasn't that far from the bus stop. When he finally arrived, the butterfly took its place on a root that made its way to the surface, while Sheldon looked ahead. He didn't know what he was expecting, but certainly... wow.727Please respect copyright.PENANAJaxr2yXZT0
Sheldon's eyes widened at the scene before him, something he hadn't come across during his little adventures through the forest.
He was on a small hill that seemed to be cut in half. Down below him were fields that stretched out until the end of the mountain, itself surrounded by trees that swayed with the soft wind that the rain had caused. The crops were wet with dew drops and he could hear the whispered and rustles of each leaf dancing with the breeze. The day was starting to grow dim, and from the thin clouds, Sheldon could see the sunset's last rays peering from the heavens.
It was breathtaking. There were no proper words to describe it.727Please respect copyright.PENANAOaCa6Xuz1B
As if he was bewitched by its beauty, Sheldon fell on the ground, his eyes never leaving the scene, and the orange glow of the sun reflecting on his glass lens. This wasn't something that you would be able to see in the city.
A bright smile made its way to Sheldon's lips, his eyes lost in the view. There was something about nature that just made him feel so happy. Was it because it was natural? Was it because it was beautiful? Was it because it was perfectly harmless and made just for the animals and insects that grow inside of it? It was just something that Sheldon loved to see no matter how many times. 727Please respect copyright.PENANAi9ex89pPfM
He could feel it. The cold sting of soft showers falling upon his skin, however, this time it wasn't something that made him freeze, but something that made him feel warmer. The wind that whistled by crashing into him no longer made him feel as if he was being taken away, but instead, it made a jolly laugh erupt from his chest.
"I can't... my... wow..." he was just at a lost for words. From the corner of his eye, he noticed the blue butterfly fluttering in delight as if it was happy with his reaction. 727Please respect copyright.PENANAm9CgjOaf74
He refocused on the scene before him, focusing on the sky, but.... it was already starting to clear up. Realization hit him. In just a while she would have to disappear again. He turned around and ran back inside of the forest, recounting the steps that he took, and leaving the butterfly to flutter helplessly behind him.
As he approached the bus stop, panting, he looked forward and saw that she was grumpy. She stomped on the floor and huffed.
"W-what is it now...?" he asked. After running back here just to say goodbye to her, you'd think she would be more appreciative. 727Please respect copyright.PENANA0XmEsU166t
She gave him a glare, although it wasn't a harsh one, and pointed behind him. Turning around, he saw the blue butterfly struggling and flapping as hard as it could, only to rest on the leaf of the same orchid that it helped bring to life.
"Oh, sorry." Sheldon rubbed the back of his neck, "Are you going soon?" he asked.
She sighed and nodded. Taunting her finger and ordering the butterfly to return to the shelter underneath her umbrella. Once it was back, it returned to its bright former glow more clear than before due to the fact that the sun was already fading from the sky.
"Goodbye then," he said with a wave. She returned it happily and turned to be enveloped in the forest in front of him.
He turned behind him and looked into the direction from which he came from. He will definitely come back there again.
"I'm back..." he said in a plain voice. Sheldon left his shoes outside and replaced his footwear with fluffy sandals. Although, there was no one to reply to him. Perhaps auntie Josie was still at the neighbor gathering. Now he felt a little guilty. He wasn't there to show... but it's not like he had a choice.
After taking a warm shower, Sheldon returned to his room, but he noticed something on the sheets. It was his phone, the one that he left out in that exact same spot. Although this time, it wasn't still, it was ringing a soft tune.
The name, "Mom " flashing on its screen.

Sorry about the late update! I've been... uh... searching for some inspiration, and I found it again because the rain has been coming back, plus, we took a trip to the mountains just recently, and the scenery there was just BEAUTIFUL.
