There's something poetic about what was happening.
The wind howling into the night like wolves pushing down everything they can, the rain pounding itself into the ground like little rocks falling from the sky, the sound of the water so deafening it almost drowns out the violent waving trees as well as the rustle coming from their leaves. The clouds that blocked out any sign of moonlight as it stormed over the forest, and the way that the ginger-haired girl's face was just flooding with anger, disappointment, frustration, guilt, horror and more in a frenzy of emotions.
"DIDN'T YOU LEARN FROM LAST TIME!?" The girl screamed, her hands curled into fists. Her umbrella was on the ground, she had dropped it.
That was strange... she was talking. Was this the same girl? Were red heads common in this place? Sheldon wouldn't know, after all, he didn't really get out much.
"IS THIS YOUR HOBBY!? Going out wandering in the forest in the middle of the night while the rain is imitating a waterfall!?"
Sheldon twitched from the ground, his eyebrows furrowing together. What did she mean? That was a... a very high-pitched voice. What was she talking about? What was going on? He was barely holding on to consciousness.
With a slow blink, Sheldon released a breath and saw the heat forming a small mist before fading away. Was it that cold?
The girl's faces changed from rage, to worry. "Sh-Sheldon... I-" she tried to take one step forward but looked down at the road that separated the both of them. "Sheldon! Sheldon please, stay awake!" the butterflies that had used to flutter around her... had disappeared.
Ah... yeah. That was ginger... she was talking now? That's... that's weird. Just a while ago he was the only one talking.
"Sheldon!" fear was flashing in her eyes, and her mouth was parted in horror.
That wasn't nice.
She was usually smiling. A bright, bright smile that seemed to be the sun in the hardest of rain. She always seemed to sparkle like that... it was weird. Sheldon had only known her for a little more than a week, but he already knew that about her.
Maybe it's because it's her most beautiful feature.
"Sheldon, I-" she looked around in desperation, trying to find anything that would be able to help him, but there was nothing there. She transferred her full focus on him and swallowed. "Sheldon... Sheldon...." with a shaky breath that seemed to disappear into the rain's harsh pour, she took slow steps forward.
Was that safe? Wasn't there a reason why she wasn't able to cross that road? What's going to happen when they are finally able to... meet? Were there consequences to her action?
Sheldon's finger twitched, and he drew in some air to feed his lungs, not realizing that he had been holding his breath the hold time. He reached out slowly, and whispered, "No..."
With a flinch, the girl stopped in the middle of the road. Her eyes still focused on him, a boy laid across the mud with water flowing around him, blood seeping from the wound on his head, and eyes that seemed to fog with every second.
Now that she was closer, he could see clearer now the storm of emotions on her face.
"I'm fine..." he rasped.
"Fine!?" She yelled, "I came here thinking that I would be having another time by myself because I knew that no rational person would be going out in a storm like this, but here you are with your head looking like you had it split open, and you say you're fine ?" she took another step closer, "There must be something wrong with you, Sheldon!"
"Why are you crying, you're a boy aren't you?!"
"It's alright to cry, Sheldon... let it out."
Ah... he suddenly missed his parents.
He could hear his heartbeat, it was getting slower. Was that normal? Just a while ago it was beating nonstop.
With another slow blink, Sheldon opened his eyes to a beautiful girl kneeling in front of him.
"Sheldon..." she whispered, her eyes so close he could just see the thoughts running through her head. All of the sudden, he felt warm arms wrap around him, pulling him up. He found himself enveloped in a... happy feeling.
Hugs. He loved hugs.
With another blink, Sheldon awoke to a sudden flood of white. A hospital. He didn't know there was a hospital in a place like this... well, he guessed that it was a need for every place where people resided.
He touched his head and flinched as he released a hiss. It hurt.
Looking around, he couldn't see anyone else in the room. It was just him. He was alone.
He looked out the window but found himself staring at his reflection instead. Sheldon saw the bandages that were wrapped tightly around his head, and he sighed in relief.
See? It was just a little pain. It would get healed up in just a while. However, there was one thing that suddenly nagged in his mind. How did he get here?
Suddenly, a flash of memories came upon him.
The last that he remembered was Ginger crossing the road in order to get to him. Did ginger save him? Did she bring him here? What... what had he done?
"Gah!" he reflexively rubbed his side, the area where the pain had started to form. Something had hit him. Sheldon looked down with a frown and noticed a small rock on the floor.
"Does it feel better?"
Instantly, he turned his head to meet the eyes of the one who said those words in such a smooth tone. It was ginger. She was standing in front of the exit, her eyes dull and her mouth pressed into a thin line.
"Does it feel better?" she repeated.
Breathing in, Sheldon replied, "Y-yes..." this was new. They were both talking.
"That's good." she approached him and sat on the side of his bed, Sheldon scooted away, unfamiliar with the feeling of beeing so close to her after all this time so far apart. "You... are stupid."
Ah. He was expecting that. "I'm aware of that... yeah," he said looking anywhere that wasn't her eyes that were gazing straight through him as if she could see his thoughts.
"Do you know what you just did? You nearly got yourself killed."
"Having a cut on your head doesn't instantly bring you to death's door..."
"Hm, is that so?" she cocked her head to the side, her blank stare burning a hole through him.
With a nod, Sheldon looked back out into the window, suddenly noticing that it was raining softly. A continuation from last night's storm. A silence fell between the two of them... it wasn't a comfortable one.
"Why don't you worry about yourself, Sheldon?" she said with a sigh, her petite white hand crumpling the white sheets on the bed.
"W-what?" he asked confused.
"I'm saying you worry too much about others!" she raised her voice. "You're always doing things in ways that would make it convenient for people, doing it for people instead of yourself! Even though it makes it difficult for you, you adjust in order for them to have it easier! Why do you do that!?"
"I-I..." Sheldon stuttered. That was...
You're always making trouble for people
Wouldn't it be easier if you stopped doing that?
People would start getting angry with you if you continue
"It helps them..." he said weakly, "If I bother them, they would have a difficult time. It would be better if I helped."
"It's alright to want to help people, Sheldon, but helping them to the point where it's damaging you? No... that's not alright. They aren't the only ones who need hands to help them. Think about yourself."
Whine? Are you going to whine about your problems?
People don't care about your problems
You're just overdramatic
"I don't have anything to complain about. I'm fine just where I am. I'm alright."
"Alright? Sheldon, when I look at you, I see a boy who has never even thought of asking more inside of his life. I see a boy who settled for what he has, instead of striving for more."
"I have everything I could ever need... a home, a loving mother, people who care about me."
Are you going to ignore them and pretend you don't have any happiness?
Are you going to be a whiny brat?
Just think about the others who have to live on without anyone but themselves
"I know that! But are you happy?"
"I'm not some kind of main character who cries and sobs about their problems, this isn't a movie. I know when I'm loved and when I'm happy, and that's what I feel. My mother's already satisfied and living in bliss with her new family, and I'm here with my aunt Josie and uncle John. I can't ask for anything else."
"Stop focusing on other people's happiness, Sheldon."
"What are you trying to say to me? What do you know? Why are you doing this? You barely even know me, what gives you the right to just judge my life like this?"
"You spend most of your life ignoring your pain than anything else."
"What pain do I have to ignore?!"
"Are you really that close-minded that you can't see what's right in front of you? Is this what your father has done to you?"
Did you hear that? Did you hear that?
What has your father done to hurt you?
You've done more harm to him than he's done harm to you
Sheldon sent her a glare, "You don't know what you're talking about." he flipped the sheets and walked towards the window.
She slipped onto the bed and crossed her arms, not once letting her gaze falter. "Sheldon. You are right..." she said softly, "It's true. You're pain doesn't compare to others. You are more blessed than many other children in this world. You have so much to be thankful for."
"Good, you understand. Please, I would appreciate it if you would stop this... please." Sheldon said turning around with a blank face expression. He shouldn't be too hard on her... yes indeed, she may be overstepping her boundaries, but he would hurt her feelings if he was rude.
Ginger stopped... "Tch!" what. "You're doing it again."
All Sheldon could do was say, "Huh?" everything she was saying didn't make any sense. Doing what? Why was she so annoyed and angry? It was a little scary seeing the usually smiley and happy girl so..... mad.
"I've had enough of this. I've been watching you the moment you arrived in front of that bus stop, and every single time it's been something like this." with a little guilt, Sheldon was starting to think that it was better when she wasn't able to talk. "Even though you're obviously hurt... obviously upset, you hide all of that because you think too much about other people." 813Please respect copyright.PENANAJ0rCBoFBRE
This was... this was getting frustrating. How was it that she wasn't able to see things from his point of view? Why is it that she refused to see anything as it is? Was she always this way? Everything he was saying was obviously right. 813Please respect copyright.PENANA98CkDTeEA0
She softly bounced out of the bed and stomped closer towards him, with a sort of glint in her eyes, she roughly stabbed her finger at his chest and said, "You're too selfless!"
Sheldon's composure faltered, and his eyes widened by a fraction by the sudden closeness between them. "W-what..." 813Please respect copyright.PENANA7OegUClXi3
Last time he remembered... selflessness wasn't exactly a bad characteristic, in fact, it was something that most human beings lacked even when other people needed help.
She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, her hands shaking. "Sheldon... Sheldon... you are one of the rarest of people who despite what they're going through... still care about others and refuse to think about themselves as anything worth worrying about." soon, vibrant lavender eyes stared back at him.
"You're being overdramatic over such a little thing..." said Sheldon his eyes looking down. "You need to calm down." 813Please respect copyright.PENANAfH8hMrdECW
"It's just a little scratch, why are you crying?"813Please respect copyright.PENANAS3ftMcKFa9
Sheldon couldn't keep his breathing straight. "Hah.... ha...." he struggled to suck in some air but it felt like he was breathing inside of a plastic bag. He shook his head, but that made things worse. Shakily, he placed his hand over his heart, but it didn't matter because he could already feel it. It was starting to beat faster.813Please respect copyright.PENANAc5AAE47DR8

Sheldon collapsed on the floor, his mind going in a frenzy, his eyes weren't focusing on anything, instead, they were just shaking moving from one object to another. His mouth was opening and closing as his chest heaved up and down in hyperventilation. 813Please respect copyright.PENANAOrb9kYKPpz
