She was muttering something to herself, and that was what had drawn me to her in the first place. In my defense, it did seem kind of creepy that she was holding a conversation with nobody in particular. As I drew nearer, I realized that she was actually reciting lines from a play.
Oh well. Mystery solved. The crazy girl was just another high school wannabe actor.
Kind of reminds me of myself. I mean, not the girl of course. She was short and South Asian, with thick wavy hair down to her shoulders, obviously unkempt. She probably hadn't even washed it in a while, judging by how greasy and clumped up it was. Her makeup was obvious, like she had broken into her mother's collection and tried it on, and the foundation was a bit off her own dark skin tone. The dark circles under her eyes weren't helped at all by the thick lower liner. She also was creepily skinny. Even under the layers of baggy clothing, I could tell the bitch was probably anorexic. I almost snorted to myself. It's bad enough all the white bitches were so obsessed with 'thigh gaps' and threw up their guts for it. Now the immigrant kids were getting in on the trend.791Please respect copyright.PENANAkC5d0WHOQy
She finally picked up a book on the shelf and flipped it around, then frowned. I peeked at the cover. It was some YA sci-fi crap, the shit that was getting all popular nowadays. She finally noticed me and came over, probably assuming I was a store employee. I get that all the fucking time. Maybe it was my face.791Please respect copyright.PENANAd251TqRVlI
"Hey, do you know if this book is any good?" She asked, fidgeting around in place.
"How would I know? I don't read that shit." I sneer, turning back to the shelves I was perusing previously.
"Well, you are wearing a Guardians of the Galaxy T-shirt. One without Gamora in it too. She's my favorite."
Of course she was. Of course the bitch was a feminist.
"Did you ever read the comics?" She asked suddenly, and I looked up.
"What? No."
"Oh, you should read them." She grinned, heading to the checkout counter where all the underpaid staff stayed. "The movie left out a lot of the cool stuff!" She called over her shoulder, then bounced to the cashier and addressed the woman by name.791Please respect copyright.PENANAvLTt9wVWsF
I turned over to the shelf next to me, stocked full of comic book geekery. Automatically, I could pick out one entitled "Guardians of the Galaxy."
