“By the way, have you talked to your parents? I thought I saw them go out of town? Do you have a key to your house?” he inquired, and I was hoping that it wouldn’t be brought up.
“Heh, yeah… The thing is I forgot to call them that I’m coming home but I just got a reservation in a nearby hotel so I’ve got that settled.” I sipped the last of my coffee and checked my watch, I was waiting for more than an hour already, “Do you think Charlie would come today?”
He scratched the back of his head, “I am not sure. That kid is always messing up everyone’s schedule.”, and he tried calling her.
I think he got in when he started talking in monotone and whats.
“What are you talking about?” he asked his sister.
Then I was startled when someone answered him back and I can hear it audibly, “I said if you are going to ask her to stay in our house instead of staying in a hotel which is by the way an hour away from here.” Charlie came from my behind.
I looked up at her and she winked at me.
“No, it’s okay really.”
Sterling now had a stern face, “Right, I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. You should probably just stay with us. It’ll just be a big waste if you stay in a hotel, plus hotels here are not like those in New York or California. I swear, it is not on your calibre of clean.”
“It is only for a day or two so it’ll be no problem, really.” I still insisted.
“Exactly! A day or two will not be a problem, plus we have to catch up a bunch! It’s a weekend, why would you want to be isolated in a nasty hotel.” But two stubborn siblings are quite more powerful than a mere me, so I gave up.
Charlie offered to drive my SUV and suggested for me to ride with his brother, but I know exactly what she is planning so I saw to it that I ride my own car.

“This is gonna be great!” Charlie said giddily as she drove my car on the way to their home.
“Charlie, you’ve gotta stop.” I held my hand up for her to catch a glimpse of the engagement ring I have acquired not long ago.
Her face became smug but then rose up again, “You are engaged! Congratulations!”
Now that expression, I don’t know if it’s will be a good thing for me or not. I just hope that she stop insisting on whatever’s on her mind.
This is gonna be a long weekend, after all.

"What do you mean you are at their house?! River!" Ariana began reprimanding as I told her my situation. "Are you out of your mind? You were not supposed to be meeting Sterling, remember? You are there for his sister and not him!"
I rolled on the bed in the guest room that the siblings generously give me to sleep with. And the thing is I've been in this guest room a couple of times before that I don't even seem uncomfortable in it.
I sighed, "I know, I know, but the situation just became like this all of the sudden. I don't even know how it happened. It's just that Charlie insisted of me staying here until my parents got back."
"How about you?"
"What about me?"
"Are you okay?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" I replied innocently. This is not the talk I want it to be, I'm all past this.
"Don't act all tough on me. It took you a whole lot of effort and time to get over him and now you are in his house." I scratched the back of my head. To be honest, I'm stuck here with my hands tied. If I insisted of staying in the hotel then Sterling might think that he still affects me enough that I can't even be in a same room as him. And if I don't... I don't think how long I will last.
I reassured Ariana that I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize my work as well as my engagement. Yep, I just have to remind myself of Evan every second of every minute of every hour of everyday, and I'll be fine.
I texted him, 'I miss you' and began doing work.

"Good morning." he greeted as he sensed me inside the kitchen.
"Good morning." I replied and grabbed the coffee pitcher to make coffee. Everything seemed to be in place as it was when I use to be here often. "Cream?"
He placed the eggs and bacon he was cooking in a platter, "Lots" he grinned at me.
I gave him his coffee and he gave me my platter. This looked like a routine, I shook the thought of.

As we're eating breakfast quietly there was a loud crash from upstairs, "Ahhh, Charlie's up." he smiled and continued his breakfast.
Of course! Charlie was the one who invited me in here but I didn't even asked for her when I got up and just made coffee for Sterling and I. What kind of a guest am I?
"Oh shoot I'm late!", we heard Charlie exclaimed and the crashing continues upstairs.
I got up and made her coffee, "So, I guess I won't have my interview this morning, eh?" and Sterling shook his head, of course not.
Charlie finally went to the kitchen and grabbed her to-go coffee, "I'm so sorry Riv, let's do the interview later this afternoon. I'll be sure to get to wherever place you like. I'm sorry. Do you have anything else to do besides the interview?" she asked as she grabbed her bookbag.
"Yeah, it's okay. I have to go to some boutique anyways. I'll just have to find it. Have a great day in school." I waved goodbye at her and she ran to her car and drove off.
I caught Sterling staring at me and I quickly composed myself, "What about you? No work?"
He chuckled, "Now you sound like my mother," he sipped his coffee, "No work, I'm all done yesterday. What boutique are you looking for?"
I looked at him suspiciously, "Hmmm... Fawke's Atelier"
"I'll take you there."
"No, it's okay. I can find it, remember I did live her for a long time."
"It's a new establishment on the new road that was developed long before you're gone. I don't think you can find it unless you were here for the last 10 years." he stated and began clearing the dishes.
And just like that, I didn't have any choice again.

Your family is awesome! More than I can imagine.
I really had fun coming by your home this whole day, your older brother is as charming as he can be, I tell you, he is not like that in school. He just looked like a geek and I can be geek with him at school.
And then Charlie, of course Charlie is awesome.
Don’t get me the wrong way, I have been friends with your siblings long before I was infatuated with you and they were awesome and all but you are more awesome than them.
It’s like your family get me more than my parents. Well, you knew that my parents are kind of demanding and being your parents’ daughter for a while felt so good.

Did I say that I love your room? You have all these magazines, mostly IT mags but they are a good read, and I can’t imagine that you have a handsome collection of classic books and I understand that they are for required reading but I appreciate that you actually read the book than search the plot summary on in the internet.
