The first thing I noticed about my roommate is his hair. He has long hair that falls over the side of his face, hiding his right eye while the rest of his hair is cut short and spiky. He also has green streaks all over his jet black hair. Then my eyes scanned down to his clothes. He was wearing all black. A black button up shirt with a green tie and a black vest over it, black skinny jeans with chains over it and spiky converse shoes with rubber bracelets over his arms. Oh and he was wearing what they call, 'guyliner'.
Next, I noticed his Faerie helper. His Faerie helper also had black hair with green streaks. His hair was in dreads and he had a chain going over his face. He was also wearing the same outfit as my roommate. Then, his Faerie smirked and licked his lips and that's when I noticed that his Faerie helper had a...green tongue. His Faerie helper pretty much had pale skin like my roommate. I thought it was crazy that they looked alike. But hey, perfect match.
"You just gonna stand there or say something?" My roommate asked.
I blinked my eyes, not realizing that I've been staring for a long time. I opened up my mouth to start speaking when my eyes went back to his outfit. My roommate had a necklace on that was just like mine but it had sparkly green mixture in it. I still didn't know the purpose of the necklace but it seems like every other student at this school has it like me. Maybe it's a requirement to wear since we're Faeries now?
"Hey, you gonna talk?" My roommate asked again.
His Faerie helper then chuckled. "I think cat got his tongue, Xan."
Xan? I thought.
I looked at Juniper. "You know them?"
Juniper shook his head. "Not the boy but I know Lief very well."
The Faerie helper named Lief smirked. "Nice to see you again, Juni."
Juniper sighed and rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms. "It's Juniper." He stressed.
I watched my roommate sigh and go back to unpacking his bags. Then I realized that I haven't said one word to the guy. He probably thinks i'm rude for ignoring him like this.
"I-i'm Stiyl!" I quickly spoke up.
My roommate stopped unpacking and looked at me. I waited for him to say something or get revenge on me by ignoring me too but instead, he nodded then went back to unpacking. I sighed softly and suddenly heard Lief chuckle. I looked over at him and watched him plant his small butt on the nightstand table next to my roommate's bed.
"The boy here is called Xander." He said.
I nodded. "Oh. Well, nice to meet you two. This is my Faerie helper, Juniper."
Then, silence fell over the whole room. I watched as Xander finished unpacking then set his suitcases to the side.
"You're not gonna unpack?" Xander asked, looking at me.
"Oh...uh...I will. I just...I wanted to check out the place first."
Then my eyes landed towards his necklace again.
"Your...your necklace." I pointed out.
Xander stuffed his hands into his pants pockets. "What about it?"
I shrugged. "I have one too." I said, touching it.
Xander started to walk towards me. He then grabbed my necklace and looked over it.
"Hmm. Interesting. So, you're the last one."
I blinked my eyes. "The last one...?"
Xander nodded then looked at me. I notice he had green eyes.
"There are some other kids here who have the same necklace but in different colors. We sorta came to a conclusion that we're the only ones that wears this necklace once we realized that nobody else but us had them." He explained.
I slowly nodded then glanced over at Juniper. He looked nervous.
"Sorry I didn't tell you, Stiyl. I didn't know how."
I narrowed my eyes. "Tell me what?" I asked, looking between Juniper and Xander.
"You better come meet the group so we can all discuss this together." Xander said then let go of my necklace before walking out the room. Lief stood up and started to fly right after him. I sighed and followed after Xander with Juniper right with me.

Me and Xander, along with our Faerie Helpers, walked into what looked like a study that was connected to the library. I looked around the room and saw three other people, all girls. One girl had blonde hair and had the same necklace as me and Xander but had pink mixture in it. She had a Faerie Helper that had pink hair and was wearing a yellow jacket. The girl looked sorta preppy. The second girl had black hair in two separate braids. She was wearing glasses and looked like she had braces. I automatically assumed she was the nerdy girl of the group and she had a necklace with purple and a little black mixture in it. Her Faerie helper had light purple hair and looked sorta quiet. The third girl looked shy. She had dark red short hair with freckles. Her Faerie helper had red hair in a crazy style. I assumed the girl was probably the quiet, shy type and she had a necklace with red mixture in it.
I was really surprised to see other students with the same necklace as me.
So, there are others like me, I thought.
"Surprised?" Xander spoke up.
I looked over at him and nodded then back at the three girls.
"I didn't know there was one more. I'm Evie and this is my Faerie helper, Dorrit." The girl with blonde hair said.
"Hey." Dorrit said.
"I'm Gretchen and this is MY Faerie helper, Sissi." The girl with black braids said.
"Hello. Nice to meet you." Sissi said.
"Um...Hi. I'm Nixie and this is my Faerie helper, Nairobi." The girl with dark red short hair said.
"Hey." Nairobi said, waving.
I nodded at all three girls.
"I'm Stiyl and this is my Faerie helper, Juniper." I introduced.
"Since we're done with introductions, let's get down to business shall we?" Xander spoke up again.

"So...what you're saying is that all five of us harness some type of power? We're Faeries. So?" I said after Xander did his explaination.
"It's not just some power, Stiyl. It's bigger than what every other student has." Xander said, sitting next to me on the couch.
Juniper nodded. "Xander is right. I couldn't tell you earlier but...you guys have an extremely powerful gift. It's something huge that nobody else has and with all your necklaces combined, it's unbelievable."
I slowly nodded. "Okay...so what's up with the colors anyways? Why am I blue, Xander is green and so on?"
Juniper shrugged. "It's just a color that was chosen for each of you. It also sorta reflects your powers."
"Okay...so what are you saying?"
Juniper sighed. "You'll see in Power Control class tomorrow."
"I think this is pretty cool. We have our own little group." Nixie said with a smile.
"Pssh. Little group. What are we? Ten?" Evie said.
"I think having this extraordinary power is such a great gift. Who knows what we could do with it." Gretchen said. "But! We need to be careful."
Juniper nodded. "Agreed. Let's just say nobody else at this school knows about your gift."
"Nobody?" I asked.
Juniper shook his head. "Nope. So it's best to keep it a secret."
I sighed then sat back in my seat. "This is all so confusing and overwhelming."
"Yeah but we gotta live with it." Xander said.
"I for one think it's amazing." Lief said as he crossed his arms.
"Why? You're not the one that has it." Juniper mumbled.
"Yeah? The last time I checked, you don't either." Lief snapped back.
"Okay! Jeez. What's up with you guys?" I cut in.
"I agree. Why don't you guys kiss and make up already?" Evie said.
Juniper sighed then crossed his arms. We all sat there in silence when the intercom cracked and Headmaster Crier's voice came over the intercome.
"Hello everybody. I hope you're having a wonderful time getting to know the school. Dinner will be ready shortly so make sure you make your way down to the dinner hall. Don't be late!"
Evie sighed. "We should probably go."
"When can we pick this back up?" Gretchen asked.
"I don't know. Maybe before bed tonight?" Xander said.
Everybody nodded then stood up and headed out of the study.
"Extraordinary power..." I said outloud as I walked down the hallway with everybody else.
"Yes. You're truly gifted, Stiyl. Don't forget that." Juniper said.
