To no one’s surprise, her brothers were panicking, both of them pacing around the house the minute they realised their sister’s absence. “Alfred did you see her yet??” Came Samuel’s shaky and frantic voice, it was rushed and uncharacteristic, echoing to the near sobbing boy next to the window pane. Alfred sighed heavily, chest rising and crashing down rapidly as he shook his head in response.

Around 5 minutes had passed of foggy tension. It was so dense, the air in the room had to move to give it space. A click by a twist of keys absorbed it like a sponge. Midnight was back! The youngest rejoiced, once neatly swiped pitch black hair becoming frizzy and shaggy due to his jumping and sprinting.
Samuel, however, was beyond furious. How DARE Midnight run off without saying a word to them for the WHOLE DAY?! Not only was she the sole girl in the family, but she was also one of the smartest. How could she make such a ridiculous atrocity like this?!?! Did she not bother about them??? Her question must’ve had something to do with it!
-Midnight’s P.O.V-
I’m late. I’ve never been home late. I’m not worried though, surprisingly, I’m more sorrowful than anything if I were to be brutally honest. I trusted my brothers; I looked up to Samuel and cared immensely for Alfred but no— they can’t even tell me the dangers of the real world? I held my breath for a brief second, pondering how I was gonna sneak back to my room without them noticing.
A tired chuckle passed my thin lips, that’s not easy in a house of creatures with enhanced hearing. Hey, it’s worth a shot though. I shoved my key into the lock, the hope in my plum eyes glowing subtly. All that glow crawled away the moment I heard a loud THUD behind the door. Either one of them had fallen or they were expecting me. Probably the latter.
The colour and adrenaline drained from me as I took a step in the house. “SISTER! OH DEAR GOD, YOURE SAFE!” Alfred’s loud, high pitched voice rang in my ears; nearly giving me a perforated eardrum. I stayed motionless, a part of my heart felt missing; the part that let me respond to their affection.
Alfred didn’t seem to notice though, thankfully; but there was still someone who shared mutual feelings. Samuel. His once blood colour irises were now flashing neon red, and that wasn’t a good sign, trust me. A low hiss peeled Alfred off my waist. “Midnight Belladonna.” Samuel growled softly, obviously trying to not show his anger and start a fight.
“My study. NOW.” “No.” Alfred interjected, I let out a gasp. Why did he do that!? Alfred let out his ginger ears; both twitching impatiently in protectiveness. I swear to the Lord Almighty that Samuel was going to pounce on him if he could. He took off his black temples and gripped the bridge of his nose.
“Brother, stay out of this. Samuel, Brother, I’ll meet you upstairs immediately.” I countered, walking past Alfred and through the forest of tension. Upstairs I flung open the oak door, entering the black and white toned room. The harsh air bit my skin as I let my black ears out.
A loud yet surprisingly muffled set of thuds vibrated throughout our mansion. I sighed heavily, stumbling back; allowing myself to fall and topple on brother’s bed. It was stiff, as if the sheets had not been changed for months, but Brother is allergic to dust so that lazy teen has no choice.
The door creaks open, leaving me confused; did Azusa come to check on me..? That damned door was facing me; blocking any vision of the intruder. It almost seemed confused, as if looking for someone. The intruder–Samuel–walked in. His maroon eyes were blazing bloodshot red as he stared into my glowing grape ones. Sure I’m afraid, he’s an Alpha; the head of the house AND my eldest brother so no competition there, but something I just couldn’t name masked that fear as I rose to my feet to approach him.
”Brother I—“
SLAP.
I shakily guided my hand to my bruised cheek, gently running my fingers on the heated flesh. Did he just—? A small pool formed in my eyes; but I pushed the thought to the back of my mind, my lips frozen in a thin line, not a word even threatening to voice out.
“What were you thinking?! Coming home so late! And you’re an Omega of all things! Can you use that mind of yours for once?!” And it went on and on, after that I just kind of zoned out, I had no energy to listen to this, let alone try and fight back. I just saw no point.
“Just—go to your room!” “Gladly, Brother.” My voice was eerily calm, not even a dash of fear quivered through it. I walked into my room, closing the door and locking it, flinging myself on the bed. What a day..I sighed, plugging in my phone to my speakers and turning up the volume to halfway so my angry bird of a brother won’t come breaking down my door. On my journey back, I spared at glance of myself in the mirror, my cheek was blue black.
”Well then.” I huffed, pulling on one of the drawer handles under my dresser. A bottle of foundation and concealer laid new and unused. I’m guessing I don’t need to tell you what I planned to do with that. So after all that mayhem I just sat down, with my music and writing supplies and wrote away.
Writing has always been escape for me, (Author-chan too!) I have no idea why or how it started, but it’s been a habit and hobby of mine ever since; writing and writing endless paragraphs of the dreams or nightmares I have, summaries of the day or anything in general. I don’t tell anyone the truth behind it, I just tend to keep it private.

It’s been an hour and passing when I heard a knock on our main door. We aren’t having guests over are we? “Sister.” Oh, never mind then. I stopped what I was doing, clearing away everything and headed down stairs. “Brother.” I sent a subtle glare his way, but was rather astonished to see that he was dressed quite formally for his style.
“I have asked Mako and Pyro to come over as an apology, and they’re here now. So do attend to them.” My eyes widened, “Yes Brother. Let me get dressed.” I returned to my room and threw on a maroon lace top, black tights and a gold necklace to complete the look. I made my way back down to see that the two had already invited themselves in, lounging around the living area.
“Mako? Pyro?” I greeted, being careful not to smudge my cover-up.
