The appeared in front of the door and the first thing Nick did once they'd let go of each other was kick it down so they could get in.
"This way!" said Richard as he dashed inside.
Nick and the others followed him.
They hadn't gone fifty feet into the building before a hydra appeared in front of them and screamed a blood curdling cry.
Before it had stopped screaming Nick charged it. A Glock in one hand, a tomahawk in the other.
The Hydra charged him and he slid under its swiping claws. Firing a shot into each of its legs as he slid between them. He rolled to his feet and jumping on top of it brought his tomahawk down on its head.
He pushed the body off his blade. "Next."
"That was scary, Nick," said Shari.
Nick shrugged. "It had to be done."
"The power is surging again," said Janette. "We have to hurry."
Richard led the way. Ten minutes and three fights later they found the control room. And ten Hydras waiting for them.
Almost before Nick could draw his pistols Richard snapped his fingers and the hydras fell through portals as water gushed through the floor.
Richard snapped his fingers again and the water stopped rushing in.
"What the hell was that?" asked Camron.
"I teleported them to the bottom of the Mariana Trench," explained Richard. "The pressure will probably kill them, and if it doesn't, they'll probably drown."
Nick laughed. "Why don't you just do that with everyone?"
"Because sometimes you need them alive for interrogation," Said Richard. "Now, lets see what they've been up to."
Nick watched the doors as the others began examining the changes the Hydras had made to the controls.
"They've set it up for maximum power," said Janette as she studied a screen. "They've got enough power to punch a hole in the space time continuom."
"Maybe that's what they're doing," said Richard as he studied a viewscreen. "They've built some kind of device connected directly to all five reactors."
He straitened suddenly. "They've built a time machine!"
"When are they going?" asked Camron.
"sixty million years ago," Richard whistled to himself. "They're just trying to return to their own time. but..."413Please respect copyright.PENANAWq1sqZsm0K
"But what?" asked Nick.
"It'll cause all the reactors to go into meltdown," said Janette before Richard could. "The blast alone will wipe out PEI. The radiation poisoning will eradicate any life that survives."
"Can we stop them?" asked Nick.
"Nope," said Richard as he looked at a screen that showed a view of the central reactor chamber. "They're already leaving."
Nick and the others gathered around the screen and watched as the hydras left through the glowing blue tunnel the device had created. The tunnel collapsed a few seconds after the last of them had entered and alarms started blaring. Announcing the eminent meltdown.
"Time to get out of here," said Richard as he grabbed Nick's shoulder. The others all grabbed onto Him and Richard and they dissapeared.
