A/N: This is by far my favorite poem I've written. I love Alice in Wonderland so much, and absolutely loved writing this. Okay, just had to say that, here's my sonnet based on Lewis Carroll's work.

I’ve been holding this tea party for years,
Now I’m painting the roses red,
Tell me, little girl, what do you fear?
Better enjoy this before you lose your head.
The white rabbit you set off to catch,
Led you down and now you can’t go back,
So hoist your blade and face the Bandersnatch,
That beast will be slain with a quick snickersnack.
If I drink this poison will I grow taller?
Take directions from the cat with a smile,
I chose the side of the mushroom that made me smaller,
But I’ve become mad so I’ll stay for a while.
Everyone’s mind is entirely gone,
But tell me, is being bonkers entirely wrong?
A/N: It was a bit difficult trying to incorporate a solid sonnet rhyme scheme into the poem but I still succeeded in staying true to the poem’s layout. I’m also very inspired by the poetic way that Alice in Wonderland is told, especially with Carroll’s inclusion of poems in the story, the most notable of poems being “Jabberwocky.” My poem plays off certain lines in the poem and slips references from the book into the lines as well. I tried to add my own personal twist on the themes throughout the book. I’m incredibly proud of my portrayal of Carroll’s classic.677Please respect copyright.PENANAS3lqJIgKbL
