Caroline Rosewood was happy, healthy, and had a loving mom and dad.
That is, until three years ago.
Now, her dad is gone, her mother resents her, everyone at school outcasts her, and she's lost all her friends, along with her health.
But Caroline doesn't care what her classmates think or gossip about. They don't know her, so they don't have the right nor capability to judge her.
No, that's not the problem. The problem is her mother.
As a result of the downhill spiral that was triggered three years ago, Caroline has no one and nothing to turn to except for music.
The keys, the notes and the melodies are all that gives her comfort, along with singing... In an empty room, of course.
That is, until she finally lets someone in.
