July 10, 2014, that day was incredible, and at the same time the day I began to realize that everything would soon change. Everything that I thought would be fine, became strange and made me aware of something. A thing that sometimes does not occur with reason and predictable way. It all just happened and left only painful, bitter memories, and also warm feelings. I'm not sure what it is until finally I can get to this position.
In June, the incident began. A beginning of a long story that I don't want to forget in my whole life. It all started in a small, semi-modern city. Beautiful city but so busy with various community activities. My day is always filled with things that are very pleasant. Having a happy family, friends, and a great environment. Everything went perfectly, so perfect. However, that does not mean without obstacles.
My passion for things that are mysterious and challenging, sometimes makes myself dizzy. Ah, you little girl who is always looking for new mysterious things that can be revealed and learned. At that time I did aspire to become a detective. Truly childish.
Today I am 15 years old. There is no special celebration, but it is always the most awaited part. Yup, the habit of blowing candles was replaced by rigid and loving behavior. There are no words but flooded with love. The picture is abstract but real. There it is, not many colors but still beautiful.
At that night, I was gathering with my mom and dad. They told me a new story about the beauty of the world, the strength of a dream and friendship will begin to flow. That's the special thing I've always been waiting for.
The day was changed. A beautiful morning always welcomes my great days. With enthusiasm I went to school, waiting for other interesting things to happen. Today is the distribution day report, it’s going to be a little excited. Everyone on that day was identical with a tense face with no exception to me. Finally the announcement was made. Yes, get first place again.
And the most awaited announcement arrived. Vacation !! My friends (Gio, Mia, Raka, Andy, Arya) and I always prepare the most exciting thing to do. And as usual, our choice fell to an island. The island is not too big and rather remote, but it looks very beautiful. So, we can be refreshing there, let the brain can be fresh again after finishing the final test.
The long-awaited day arrived. My friends and I said goodbye to each other's parents and rushed immediately to the island. It’s about 1 hour we have traveled, quite tiring using a boat belonging to my uncle, we finally arrived at the island. Feeling tired during the trip, as if paid with a very amazing view. "So beautiful"
"I will come back later at 5 pm to pick you all up. You guys have fun in this place. But as long as you are here, you must keep your words and do not mess around in this place. OK? " (Uncle)
"Okay uncle, we will wait for you here at 5 PM."
"Okay. You guys have fun. " Said uncle while pushing his boat.
Stretch of white sand makes us want to linger on this beautiful island. Green and dense forests add to the perfection of this island. What a wonderful creation of God. However, not long after we had fun, I felt there was something different with this island, such as silence and strange.
"Guys, I feel like there is something strange about this island." (Mia)
"Strange? This island is amazing. I had felt nothing but pleasure. You take it easy, uncle will pick us up this afternoon. " (Andy)
"That's right. Besides, I still want to linger here. " (Raka).
"Anyway guys, I'm thirsty. Do you have water ? " (Gio).
"Ouch. Our water supply is about to run out. "
"Okay, what if we look for coconut trees around this island? " (Arya)
"That’s a great idea, let's go around this beautiful island." Andy replied in an encouraging tone.
Finally we decided to look for coconut trees around the beach. But not a single coconut tree we found.
"Strange. How come on the island there are no coconut trees? ".
"Never mind, maybe no one is planting coconuts here. But I thing we must immediately return to the beach, it’s getting late and we should bring coconut seeds when back here." Said Raka in a slightly joking tone.
It’s about half an hour we’ve walked down the island. But we haven’t found a way out.
"Are we lost?" (Mia)
"Aah. It is impossible. I have marked several trees that we passed earlier.” (Raka)
"Wow, that's good. Where did you get the idea from?” (Gio)
"I'm a movie lover. Things like this are often in the movies. Besides, I also brought a compass to anticipate things I don't want. " (Raka)
"Guys ! Wait, I think we have passed this way. And this is a sign made by Raka and it has been marked that we passed it.”
"That's right." Andy and Mia replied in the same time.
"Wow, that's bad. We really get lost. " Gio said in a trembling voice.
It was getting dark. Everyone took flashlights in their bags for lighting. We walked for almost hours on this island. Shortly, we found several of houses that were very old and surrounded by plants that crept into the walls of the house.
"Oh my God, in the middle of a jungle like this, there's a house?" (Raka).
Because Time was very late and it didn’t allow us to continue the journey, we decided to rest there.
"Are you sure, we will stay here? I feel something odd with this house. " (Mia)
"Just relax Mia. We have four formidable warriors here. " I said while looking at Gio, Raka, Arya and Andy with a smile.
Everyone smiled to hear my words. When everyone was almost asleep, I moved from the bed of leaves and my jacket to the small bonfire made by Andy and Arya. I feel like there's something wrong in this house. This house looks very messy. "How can there be a house in the middle of an uninhabited island like this?" I whispered in silent.
"Haven’t sleep yet ?" (Gio).
"I can't sleep. I'm worried about all of you. Because I invited you to this island.”
"It does not matter. We agreed when you were invited. Take it easy, we will face this together. " Arya was putting her hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks, guys."
"We will also come out of this island together. We're friends. " Said Raka, the newly awakened.
Suddenly, Mia woke up and screamed. Simultaneously we were all shocked. We ran to her as quick as we can.
"What's wrong Mia?" I asked in a very worried tone while hugging her.
"I have nightmares about this island." She was breathing heavily.
Then, We all sat side by side around a campfire.
"Crek !!!!!!!!" The sound of a broken dry branch suddenly breaking the silence.
"Andy! Raka! You take care of Wanda and Mia here. Gio and I will check something out. " Arya said in a whispered voice.
"Okay." Raka and Andy answered in unison.
"Wait! I am coming along." I said while holding Gio's hand.
"Don't! This is dangerous.” (Gio)
"No. I want to help you guys. Maybe it’s just a wild animals, I know how to deal with it.”
"Okay. But be careful and stay behind us. " (Arya)
The three of us, carefully stepped out of the house to inspect the surroundings. The bushes growing around the house made it difficult for us to move forward.
"Creeeeek !!!!!!" The sound of broken branches was heard again and it sounded not far from us. Not far from where we stood, I saw a movement. Like a big black shadow.
"What is that ?" Gio asked in a whisper.
"Wait !!! Don't move and turn off your flashlight. " I say in a trembling voice.
"What is that ?"(Arya)
"That's a wild boar. The size is quite large and has strong fangs. It seems like he is interested in the light of the campfire and the smell of the food we carry.”
"Then what should we do?" (Gio )
"Guys, we have to go back to the house. Maybe it's safer there. And we must slowly so as not to attract the attention of the boar. " (Arya)
"Okay,"
As we walked slowly away from the boar, when we were almost at the house, suddenly something caught my leg. Then I fell really hard, which hurt my right arm. Simultaneously, Gio and Arya swiftly helped me to stand up and release the snare from my feet and rush into the house.
"Are you okay ?" (Mia).
"I am okay,"
"Something caught her leg until she fell. But the wound is not severe. Just a scratch. " (Arya)
"Thank God. What did you see outside? " (Raka).
"Only a wild boar go around looking for food," (Gio)
"Then Raka and I will be on guard. You guys take a rest. " (Andy).
"Okay," said Mia, while she’s holding my hand.
The sun has also appeared on the eastern horizon, and the time is 6:15 in the morning. We all woke up and immediately rushed out of the house to find a way to the beach. In the middle of the trip, we were surprised to meet an old man who suddenly passed in front of us.
"Sorry Sir, Who are you?" (Raka)
"And why did you surprise us?" (Gio)
"You don't need to be afraid. I just want to ask you to leave this place. " The old man answered in a scary voice.
"We did not find a way out of here." (Mia).
"Alright, now you all follow me. I will show you the way out.”
"Alright. Let’s go." (Andy).
While we were talking to the old man, something caught my attention. I saw a beautiful girl stroking a little pig. Slowly I stepped towards the girl. After a few steps, Mia suddenly pulled my hand tightly and hugged me.
" Gosh ! What are you doing here? We’ve been looking for you” (Mia)
"I ... I'm not going anywhere. I only took a few steps from you guys. " I answered haltingly.
"How could it be ? We look for you for almost half an hour." Raka said in a trembling voice.
"Never mind. You better get out of this island immediately. I saw that some people seemed to be looking for you. " Said the old man who broke the tension between us.
We were almost at the coast. We heard my uncle calling our names.
"Thank you, for taking us here. Wait ! Where's the old man? " Said Andy who was surprised.
"I don't know, he's not here," (Arya)
We rushed to the beach and met my uncle and his friends who helped look for us. "Are you all right?" Asked uncle in a very worried tone.
"We're okay. We are just lost, and fortunately, there is an old man who helped us get out of here. "
"We should leave this island as soon as possible." Uncle told us to immediately get on the boat.
On the way, I remembered a beautiful girl on the island.
"Uncle, actually what happened to the island ? I saw a girl and also an old man.”
"A few years ago, the island was a fairly well-known tourism center managed by a wealthy businessman who had a beautiful daughter. He built a small village in the middle of the island for his employees. One of his employees fell in love with his daughter. But the girl didn’t felt the same as the employee and refused the employee by saying some terrible words. The employee was very hurt to hear the girl's words. In the middle of the night he kidnapped the girl and kill her in a sadistic way. He mutilated the body and buried it next to his house. Since then the killer set himself on fire inside the house and other houses caught on fire. It killed many other employees, including an old man who became a loyal employee of the entrepreneur. A few years later there was also a tsunami that flattened the place. Except for a few houses. Since then the place has been closed to the public. And now it has been reopened, although there are still rarely people come to visit. And you are one of the visitors who visited during the last few months. " Said uncle who explained the chronology of the incident.
"Oh, that's how it is." Said Raka who seemed most curious about the story.
"Oh, I just remembered something!" Arya said in a surprising tone.
"Huhh, What ?" (Gio).
"Last night, Wanda got caught in something. It's like a chain wrapped around a bunch of hair. And around it are bones. I guess it's animal bones. But don't tell me it's the girl's bones. " (Arya)
"Yes. Maybe it's the girl's bone. "
"Guys forget about what happened today. Think of it today as the tensest adventure we have ever experienced together. " Mia said calmly.
"That is right," (Gio)
"I think we should go back" I said while looking at the island.
