(Song used : Siren - Kailee Morgue)
-Dark’s P.O.V-
What the...? I looked at Light, the same look of a strange mix of concern and protectiveness washing over her face. Light’s a Yangire, so she’s naturally protective over my clumsy left feet, but this...Jesus this is another thing altogether. I slowly peeled back the folded page, bracing myself for whatever weird confession letter I was about to receive. “I really don’t want to read it out but I want to make sure we get everything so I don’t have to see this again.” I stated, gesturing to the entirety of the paper. I'll be there when your reality drowns
Apparently. He wanted to hang out for coffee at a little cafe out of campus. I shrugged towards Light, it was a super creepy way of asking, but it seemed innocent enough I suppose. I told Light I’d take the offer and headed out with a simple sweater and jeans. On the way over I was plugging in my earphones and accidentally bumped into someone in front of me—“ah! I’m so sorry Lai-Kun.” I blushed deeply, pouting when I realised it’ll probably show off like a beacon on my pale skin.
”It’s okay Dark. Where’re you going?” Through some stammering I managed to get out that I was headed out with Angelo since I had an off day along with him today, my face saddened when I saw Laito’s smile fade. “Uh..Dark do you want to hang out with me instead?” I flushed even more if possible, my cheeks flaming with heat. I guess it’s okay, I didn’t text Angelo about agreeing anyhow, so it’s not like he’ll know I read the letter. Coming back to myself, I looked at Laito’s emerald eyes...they’re so pretty...”Why thank you.” The bearer chuckled and I swear I nearly fainted at the sound of his laugh. To every wrong thing
“Oh haha, I totally forgot you can read minds.” I said shyly, and smiled back as I agreed to the hangout he posed. His pointed ears perked up, hand reaching out abruptly to insulate me, I frowned, swatting at the appendage until he relented. “What’s wrong Lai?” He didn’t say anything, the tips of his ears flicking back and forth sharply as he listened around. The look only darkened as Angelo appeared out by the walkway of some nearby shrubs. A low growl slipped past and I felt my face flush even harder. He’s so sweet!! He’s just being protective! The words echoed in my head.If you're looking at me through the right eyes
-Third Person P.O.V-
Angelo headed up to the pair, making it rather obvious as he ignored the Delta to speak to the significantly shorter Omega behind him. “Ah! Dark, I was looking for you, did you get my note?” The Fox beamed, his smile borderline concerning to the Omega, but she just brushed it off, nodding with a grin of her own. “Yeah, I did! But I’m sorry..I’m busy today Angelo.” Even Laito looked down at her in confusion at her statement, but he soon smiled brightly as he realised what was going on in that little head of hers.Darkness in my name
”Laito said he’d help me with physics, so I was already heading to the library with him!” The young kitten beamed, it was completely made up on the spot, but Angelo was none the wiser. His lips drooped and he sighed, “Ah, well..it’s fine I guess.” Dark felt bad. The poor kid looked visibly upset, but he was really beginning to creep her out sometimes. Maybe she would arrange a hangout with him on her own? Maybe. She didn’t say anything though, and waited until the other Omega was at a good distance before turning to her Kouhai.Don't you wanna come and play on the cool side
”Shall we?”
“We shall.” Don't be so shy

That night, Kanato asked Laito to head out to buy some stuff at the mini-market so he could cook dinner. It was a long debate over who would do the shopping if not the cooking that week, and Laito finally caved in. He tucked the straps of his mask behind his humanoid ears (safety first! No corona here 😂) and yanked up his hood, huffing upwards for the few unruly curls that still managed to slip out. He was about to head out when Kanato’s cool voice rang from the kitchen,
“Lai! Catch!”
The shorter barely had time to even move his feet before the pointed object flew directly into the wall behind him, just about slicing his hoodie. “Seriously?? You know you could’ve just passed it to me like a normal human right?” He stated with blatant frustration, Kanato just shrugged as he appeared by the doorframe to the kitchen, “Eh, sure, but where’s the fun in that?” Stupid Kuudere, Laito mentally sighed as he tugged the handle of the newly sharpened knife out of its resting place and sheathed it in his front pocket. No I was never one for pretty weather
~
After paying, the brunet headed back out into the warm summer night with his bag of groceries. Without warning, his shoulder was yanked hard, the capturer’s hand gripping his left with a bruising force. The figure swung him anti-clockwise so they were back to chest; arm locked over the victim’s neck. “What the—?!” “Don’t.” The voice resounded through his head, emotionless and devoid of any sort of empathy it had before. Laito was about to comment once more when the cold, rounded tip of the silenced handgun dug into his temple. I'd rather be a creep, baby follow me into the water
”She is mine.”
Ah...so that’s why he’s here. Two can play at that game.
”If she really is yours, why would you have to kill me for her Angelo?”
The tanner felt the body stiffen behind him, grip wavering as the quick readjusting tap of fingers on the plastic chamber vibrated through him. He repeated it again, free arm pulling back harder onto his rival’s airway. Laito continued on, slowly and in a sing-song manner, “You do realise...if you kill me; you leave evidence. Evidence that we both know Dark will get to the bottom of...and when that happens, well; you know..” I'll take you to the darker
The grip continued to weaken gradually, Angelo panicking at the idea that his senpai will reject him if she ever found out that he killed people. The thought occurred to the latter once or twice too, both seeing how Dark would refuse to even shout back at her best friend let alone murder someone, but somehow...Laito thinks he misjudged that fact. He heard the rumours, that Dark too was a Yandere, hence why she got her way most of the time: the calm, sweet exterior tricked the whole school.
Just as the taller’s grip slipped just enough, Laito struck, he elbowed the boy in the stomach and booked it back to the dorms, leaving Angelo to clutch at it, coughing in the sudden loss of air. Once he had safely locked the door, he waltzed on into the kitchen where he saw Kanato waiting, another blade poking into the soft plump flesh of his lips. “Hey dude, did you...what the hell happened??” The questioned raised an eyebrow, dropping to bag onto the kitchen island and walking over to the mirror, pulling down his hood. A venom drippin' in your mouth
His throat was red, minor scratches and blue-black bruises littered it, and his hair was completely disheveled, an obviously thinner patch where the gun barrel was once tucked. “Oh man..” he groaned, inhaling deeply as he walked back to where Kanato was breaking some spaghetti in half. “Yeah. What happened dude? Don’t tell me you had to fight to get the groceries.” He laughed, keeping the tone light as hearted as he could. Laito shook his head, giggling almost hysterically too.Singin' like a siren
”No I just ran into someone—“ A soft knock at the door cut him off. Collectively, they decided Kanato should answer it while Laito fixed himself up. He headed over to the bathroom, tan arms holding onto the sink as he shook his head, letting his orangish-brown ears out. He let out a soft purr and washed up; listening to Kanato talk to whoever it was outside. After making himself look decent at most, he headed out into the living room where Dark and Light were sitting at their table, munching at some cookies and snacks Kanato and Dark had whipped up. Love me while your wrists are bound
”Oh..hi guys! Hi Dark” Laito smiled, head tilting as he saw the split change from blankness to concern in his little kitten’s eyes. “Dark..?” He waved a slow hand in front of her face, confusion growing as Dark immediately rushed over and looked him over. “Dark—?!” “What happened. Who did this.” Her tone was quiet, echoing loudly through the silence that fell across the dining room. “I-I don’t know what you mean...” “Don’t lie to me. Your neck is all bruised and you’re sweating, even your freaking heart rate increased. What happened.” You've been seeing me in your dreams but
It wasn’t a question, but a order instead. Dark wasn’t usually the type of person to be commanding in any sense, letting her bestfriend take care of it as she tried to suppress her own instincts, but seeing her Kouhai hurt like that made something in her snap. Laito, being almost completely weak to his Senpai caved in and told the three of them everything at once. However he was the only one who hadn’t noticed Dark’s eyes flash back to blank for a few moments before nodding gleefully with an: “Ah! Okie, I’ll speak to him.”
And no one ever spoke about it again. I'll be there when your reality drowns

About a week had passed before Dark asked Angelo to meet up with her one night. The boy agreed instantly, cheerily dressing himself up and meeting her at the cafe she had chosen. It was a quiet night, just the pitter patter of rain on the windows and roof of said cafe, and the two chatted for a bit, Dark seeming to be actually interested. She had promised beforehand not to do anything exceptionally harsh to her victims unless the situation called for it, but safe to say that this situation was definitely one that called for it.
The lights around them grew dim, and Dark stretched, joints popping and tail curling in a small loopty-loop. Angelo stared, admiring the adorable mass of fur and kindness in front of him. Dark smiled, getting up and offering her hand out, “Come on, let’s go. It’s getting late.” She kept her tone light, but couldn’t stop it from coming out clipped and sharp - a bad habit of hers -. Nevertheless, the Fox didn’t seem to care much, if the love struck-dumb struck look in his eyes was anything to go by. That when you hear my voice
Dark sighed inwardly, pulling him up to his feet gently when he grabbed onto her hand. It grew a bit awkward then as he didn’t want to let go, but Dark bore with it; it’ll be over soon anyways so she didn’t have much to worry about. On the way back to campus, Dark paused, her small feet splashing into the puddle of rainwater below them. Angelo followed her, stopping also in the puddle of water. “Something wrong?” He asked, tone full of concern and worry. Darlin' it's a choice not to fall in
Dark shook her head, walking forward again, but she knew for a fact that the shoes she wore were made of plastic, hence they weren’t absorbent...Angelo’s on the other hand...were made of canvas and were extremely absorbent. A tight lipped smile stretched taut on her lips as she stopped once more, watching Angelo take a few long strides before stopping too, where they were both in an alleyway. Angelo let out a laugh, thinking it was some sort of game, and his smile shone brightly onto Dark. But it's all an act, 'cause I know exactly what you're wantin'
”I just wanted to say thanks for coming out with me, it was really fun!” Dark beamed, carefully making sure her umbrella hid the two horns poking out in front of her ears. It was fine by her, the shade of the accessory making her seem shy and more vulnerable. It worked, too; as Angelo blushed heavily and began to reach out for her. You know it's what I'm wantin'
That’s when Dark opened fire. Boy, I know what you desire
Swiftly, she raised her hand, a single flame shooting out from it straight above into the overhanging utility pole. The wires snapped clean off due to the sudden heat, landing into another puddle of water. “Oh my god I’m so sorry!” Dark apologised profusely, her practice going to good use. “It’s just..you scared me, that’s all.” She admitted, tone dropping and rising in pitch almost perfectly to match her faux expression of pity. Angelo instantly caved in, taking his own time to apologise about how he acted ‘in the moment’ and ‘didn’t know what he was doing’. Oh, you're such a bad, bad liar
Laito-Kun would never do that! Dark mused happily to herself, as she turned her attention back to focus on the task at hand. Realising it wasn’t really raining anymore, she closed her umbrella, turning it so she held the handle, watching delightedly as Angelo did the same. Although the umbrella was still wet, she slung it over her shoulder, soft pink eyes watching closely as the Omega in front of her followed suit.
The elder took a step forward, looking straight ahead as she spoke, “Come on Angelo, let’s go!” and continued to step in the puddle where the electric line had just fallen; it was now or never. As expected, Angelo walked behind her, not minding the puddle either. However that was his one mistake. As soon as his shoe dipped into the shallow water, the young Fox’s body froze in shock as jolts of high voltage electricity shot through him. A venom drippin' in your mouth
The suspect turned around, sickly sweet smile still staining her lips as she batted her eyelashes at him. Angelo’s face morphed into horror as he felt the excruciating pain of his skin splitting into rashes and open wounds of raw flesh from the current bolting in his veins. He tried to cry out for help, but his body was glued to its position, glued with his expression as he started to occasionally jerk and twitch with every zing of pain. Singin' like a siren
It seemed like only his eyes could move, and he chose to stare pleadingly into Dark’s eyes. The murderer’s expression was still gleeful, frighteningly so. She grinned even wider at him before leaning a little bit forward to whisper quietly in between the tension that surrounded them, “Sorry. You hurt my Kouhai. I didn’t want to kill you, but you pushed the limits Angelo.” and she backed up again, silently enjoying the increasingly frenzied look growing in the boy’s eyes.Love me while your wrists are bound
He looked nice, getting what a stupid stalker like him deserved for hurting her Laito. She couldn’t exactly see what was going on within Angelo’s body, but with every little spasm and chitter of his teeth told her it must’ve been painful....
Good
He had to feel pain. You've been seein' me in your dreams but
Eventually, the lifeless body dropped down face first onto the dirty road in front of him. Dark frowned a little, disappointed at how quickly the moment had passed. She brought out her phone, tempted to take a picture for keep-sake but voted against it. Instead she messaged Light about it, code wording whatever was needed to be hidden;
D : Did it! Angel has fallen, literally.
L : Jesus. Finally! How’d you do it? Got your hands dirty again?
D : Of course not, almost got caught last time, I just pulled a distraction and zapped him a lil
L : Ah, interesting, come on back to the dorms and tell me about it, I have an article to write. I'll be there when your reality drowns
With that, Dark switched off her phone, and headed home.
~I'll be there when your reality drowns
“I’ve been wondering dude...” Kanato began, stopping so he could hear the acknowledging hum from Laito, “...If you had the knife, - I know you did - why didn’t you kill him then and there?” Laito turned to face his friend with vague interest, amusement flashed in his mischievous green eyes, “I did, but something told me not to. Perhaps I assumed Dark wouldn’t like it if I harmed him.”
Kanato threw his head back and laughed, surprising the Neko Delta. “What’s so funny?” “You seriously don’t know Dark do you?” Beaten, the shorter shook his head sadly, “Not really, always been tongue tied ‘round her.” The Alpha rolled his eyes at the confession, “Well; Dark is the type of person to beat up mean people, she’s too weak physically to do anything on her own, so she chose to use her brains to find an easy way out.” Oh, you're such a bad, bad liar
”Easy way out?” Laito queried, eyebrow raised. I want you and I just can't take it
The Kuudere nodded, “Yeah, ‘easy way’. “ he gave air-quotes where necessary, “She’s like a Siren Lai. She’ll lure you in with her innocent and weak attitude, and if you treat her right she’ll be your best ally, if not...well, she doesn’t like getting her hands dirty, but she will end you.” So, listen to me when I say it
The latter paused, listening quietly before responding again, his tone more suspicious now, “And how do you know all this...?”
”Because I fell into her trap once.” A venom drippin' in your mouth
The table rattled with silverware and plates jumping to a rest when Laito slammed his open palms on the table, stance getting defensive. He doesn’t really know what came over him; he never snapped so suddenly like that before, and so he forced himself to quiet down when Kanato opened his mouth again.Singin' like a siren
”Listen to me you idiot. What I meant is : yes, I did like her, but she didn’t like me. She turned me down before I could confess and we’ve been very close until now. She tells me what happens in her mind because I am able to reciprocate those ideas and turn them into truth or fib. So shut up about it, I have a girlfriend too, be it if I’m a Kuudere.” He blurted out in a rushed breath. Love me while your wrists are bound
The Neko was still standing, heaving inhales weakening to a slow and steady breath in-breathe out pattern before nodding, “Fine. I’m sorry. I don’t know what triggered it.” His light chestnut ears flicked back and forth before tucking back onto his fluffy curls. Kanato mouthed an ‘it’s fine’ before saying to drop the topic, to which Laito agreed. You've been seein' me in your dreams but
The next day, a newspaper came out, entitled with Angelo’s death on the front cover. Dark smiled at Light, watching her friend smile back at the writer’s note in the bottom corner. Next to them Laito and Kanato grinned too, happy that Laito wouldn’t be hunted down for any particular reason for now. That’s when Laito noticed something though. Aside from the author’s note, under the heading was written in italics : ‘Written by : Light Anzai ‘ and in the author’s note? Well, the author’s note contained the one piece of evidence Laito needed:I'll be there when your reality drowns
’With accompaniment of Dark Hashi’
