Sucking in a vacuumed breath, she silently cursed the calm morning waves that gently pushed her further inland against the caressing beach sands. The humid sunlight was too heavy with moister to rid her leathering skin of the saltwater, though the edges of her clothes were crusty from the surplus of sea salt. Her limbs left worn, as if she had swum across the ocean toward the mainland, and her insides burned as a watery fire attempted to scald her from the inside out.
As she coughed out the last of the biting salt water from her lips, she realized that she didn’t recognize anything around her. Not that she really cared, anyway. She was better off lost or gone, and had decided to lie and wait patiently for hunger or thirst to ease her off to a peaceful death no matter how long that irritating thing decided to continue playing with her toes.
Myah’s eyes flashed open like a car crash, as every worldly worry plummeted atop her worn wits in sheer seconds, with as much sickening G-Force as a rocket. She hastily sat up from her sandy tomb, sand flinging out of her tangled hair, as her eyes flurried wide in shocked alarm.
Ryann ran across the sinking sands, hollering out her name every other step, narrowly dodging the greedy grasp of the ocean’s waves. Rebecca had been left behind miles ago, not able to keep with Ryann’s desperate drive. The island was only a few dozen miles around, he was bound to run into her sometime. He had to run into her sometime. He had to run into her sometime.
She wouldn’t have just…
He shook the black thought from his head, continuing his frantic run around the island, her name echoing across the vast, empty ocean.
The girl sat up with a startle at the slightest touch of the pudgy little niblets she had at the tips of her skinny twotails. Her wide, drowsy, golden eyes were plastered with a tail full of everything but recollection.
He wondered if she had truly forgotten him. He hasn't forgotten her despite the handful of years. He couldn't forget that fabled red hair and those honey eyes. He couldn’t forget the calm smile of gratitude on her round face as he set her on the fishing docks all those years ago.
Myah couldn’t wrap her head around the mysterious man in front of her, wondering why he was shirtless of all things. Was he the one that saved her?
Her gazed was mesmerized by his sea foam eyes, thinking they were the most gorgeous shade of green she had ever seen. His golden skin was rich and dazzling, and it radiated warmth like the sun. She was tempted to touch him just to make sure he was real.
But all of those impulses peacefully set sail from reality as her gaze traced down his body, finding a shining blue tail glistening in the water where legs should definitely be.599Please respect copyright.PENANA86eXwD19Q9
