Teresa was there, her bottom lip trembling. Aris noticed she seemed to be acting similarly to Beth--before she ended Rachel's life. Thomas seemed to be snapping out of his daze as well. "Teresa?" he questioned, stepping forward. "Are you--"
"No!" she cried out. "Keep your hands away from me!" Her entire body shook with sobs wracking her, staring at him. "Please! Get away from me! Now!" She withdrew from him, and then abruptly flung herself at Thomas and captured his lips with hers.
Aris felt a surge of jealousy ripple through him. Tears continued streaming down Teresa's face, as she pressed against Thomas. He so loved her, and look at what she was doing at the moment. Tearing his gaze away, he inspected the girls' filthy faces, seeing how no confusion crossed their faces, nor looking perplexed.
"No." Teresa continued crying. 'I have to go, now!" She then sprinted away, and Aris grabbed Thomas's hand. Clearly, she was becoming very unstable. Thomas seemed to be devastated, as he stepped away from her, and Aris could almost share the same feelings. If it had been Rachel, he'd become so desperate to reach her that he would kneel down.

Aris trudged along with Sonya, watching Teresa vanish behind a copse of trees. For some reason, Sonya had been provided with a small pickup truck, along with a few weapons, as they settled in. Jorge offered to drive. "How'd you have that?" he asked. Sonya glanced at him.
"Have what?"
"I mean, you're were about to escape WICKED? How? And those weapons....how'd you get that?"
Sonya paused. "We are still completing a Trials, Aris. But I never told you this." She continued staring at the glass. "I still recalled some things from the Transformation. I was pricked twice, so I received a whole lot of memories, and there's an resistance group of rebels."
Aris gaped at her through the mirror. "Twice? How'd you keep yourself alive, then?"
Sonya paused. "Recieved the Medicine in time. Did Teresa tell you everything? You two would be reunited. Now, we are attempting to complete the Trials they have for us, and, well, eventually, they'd locate us, I suppose. But I want to take this chance to have to see the Right Arm. They've been shielding Immunes like us for years.
"The route for the Right Arm is pretty similar to the one they have out for us. We'll need to reach safe haven, and there, we have to continue on north for five miles, so we'd have to ditch this truck, eventually. We'll never reach 'safe haven', if we use this vehicle." She shrugged again. "I was already at the Right Arm's camp already, just used a different route, so WICKED wouldn't get suspicious and hunt me and the rest down, that's why I have the gun and provided me with the truck."
The trunk continued careening down the road. Soon enough, there were just mounds of rocks that formed unnavigable paths. Everyone leaped out of the truck, and Jorge concealed it under some trees. "We'll need it sooner or later," he said. Then, he took off.

After they'd ditched the truck, they continued striding down the sandspit. Aris trudged next to Sonya when she froze momentarily. She swallowed hard. "We only have five days for us to reach, 'safe haven.' We must go directly to the Right Arm's camp in a matter of days."
Everyone agreed. They continued bolting down the sandspit. He knew that, however, in his heart, he'd have to be reunited with Teresa, eventually, they could complete that "inhuman, cruel task" together.
