I almost passed out when I saw the bed. “Finally, were not moving.” I said as I put down the suit cases. I jumped on the bed and rolled my arms on the bed. “This feels so good.” I told Ryan. He laid right next to me, his arms snaked there to my waist, and he flipped me over so I was on top of him. I laid my head on his chest resting just like that, hearing his heartbeat, I think I fell asleep like that. But then someone had to ruin it with a knock.
“What…” I asked sleepily. The knocking continued. I slowly got up and looked threw the peep hole. Jamie and Kara.
“Jamie…” I asked sleepily rubbing my eyes, “I was sleeping…”
“Well you can sleep when you’re dead.” She told me. She looked in our room, “Are you guys really just sleeping?”
“Trying to.” Ryan mumbled
“Fine. We’ll leave you alone…but Nicky wanted me to tell you that he wants you down stairs for dinner with the rest of the pack.” Kara said.
“No!” Jamie said.
“What’s for dinner? And who cooked it?” I asked her.
“I don’t know, I just know there is food for dinner.”
“Fine.” Ryan said, getting up. He got up.
“Where’s the kids?” I asked Ryan.
“Oh, I stole your kids, their down stairs with Nicky and them.” Jamie said.
“What!” I said. I was now wide awake, “Thank you.” I told Jamie.
Kara smiled at me, “It was fun.”
“Alright. Can you give use like five minutes…?” I asked them, rubbing my eyes.
“Yea. No prob.” Kara said, excitement in her eyes.
“Thank you, so much.” I told her. They walked out, leaving us alone. I picked up my suitcase and put it on the bed, I unzipped it. Taking everything and putting it in the drawers. Ryan came behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist, he nuzzled his head between my neck. I laid soft kisses on my neck making chills go up my spine. I turned putting my arms around his neck, his hands went slowly down my back. “You’re so beautiful.” He told me, tucking in a piece of hair behind my ear. I felt my checks go hot as I blushed. He kissed each of my cheeks, then my nose. I embraced him in to a needed hug, “I think it’s been more than five minutes…” he said.
I nodded my head.
When we finally got down to the dinner table, there was a row of mash potatoes, fried chicken, green beans, Mac n’ Cheese, and for desert a chocolate cake.
“Wow.” I said, nodding my head, “Who cooked?” I asked them, coldly. I didn’t really think they have ever opened a cook book, or any book of that matter, let alone make a whole meal.
“Uh…” was all I heard from the girl sitting by Alec A.K.A the new Luna of the pack, “We got a new chef when you…left.” She said, smiling at me.
“Sure you did.” I said, I sat right down between Ryan and Damon. I grabbed a plate and put a giant heaping of mash potatoes and Mac n’ Cheese plus a chicken bone. Yum. It was good, it was actually edible.
“How can you eat so much food?” Johnny asked me.
“I just really like food.” I told Johnny.
“I like a girl who can eat and not worry about a few pounds.” Ryan said, poking me in the side. I jumped.
“Hey…guys I’ve got some news for you…” Kara spoke up. Her and Nick were holding their hands on the table. This must be serious. “I-I’m…Pregnant.”
“What!” Ryan said, “I’m going to be an uncle!”
“Wait? Does that make me an aunt?” I asked.
“I guess.”
“So boy or girl?” I asked.
“Boy.” Nick said before putting a huge bite in his bone.
“Girl.” Kara spoke up.
“Boy.”
“Girl.”
“Boy.”
“Girl.”
“Maybe it’ll be an elephant.” Aries said smiling. Everybody laughed at Aries innocent voice.
“Mom? Where do babies come from?” Michael asked.
“Shit. Thanks Kara.” I told Kara.
“You’re welcome.”
“Where do babies come from…?” I said.
“Sex.” One of the blonde bimbos said.
“NO! Magic.” I told him. Thinking quickly.
“Magic?” Damon asked.
“Yea…the Moon Goddess.” I said.
“The Moon Goddess gives you babies?” Aries asked, looking at Kara.
“Yes, the Moon Goddess…Once she believes that you are…ready to have a baby she…she’ll give you a test and no two test are the same.” I told her. I made this up of course.
“Oh. What was your test?” she asked me.
“Um, I can’t tell you…it’s a secret.” I told her, the truth was that I couldn’t come up with one. “Maybe when you’re older I’ll tell you three.” I told them.
“So what are you going to name it if it is a boy?” Shane asked, “I suggest Shane. It’s a very beautiful name.”
“And if you’re looking for a girl name, Jamie. It’s got a good ring to it, easy to remember.” Jamie said, taking a sip of her drink.
“Um, we haven’t really have any names.” Nick told us.
“Mommy?” Aries asked, “Can I have some cake? I finished all of my food?”
“Yes you can.” I told her, getting her a slice of cake for her, Damon, and Michael.
“Hey, just a quick question but when does school start?” I asked Alec.
“You going to school?” he asked me.
“No, I’m already done with all of that school junk. I was just wondering for like elementary.” I asked him.
I heard “UGGG! Mom! Summer’s not even over yet!” Michael groaned at me.
“Yes…but it’s already August.” I told him.
“…Um. I don’t really know, you could ask some of the moms.” He told me.
I rolled my eyes at him, “Never mind I’ll just find out myself...” I told him, picking at my Mac n’ Cheese. Then the hunger came back, when it came it was like getting get hit in the gut with a train, it just came so suddenly. “Shit! I forgot to bring down the…” Silver. I couldn’t tell them that. Ever since giving birth the Triplets plus having no my mate with me, forced me to have some kind of silver hunger. It was like I was a diabetic and my insulin was silver.
“You want me to go get.” Ryan asked me.
“Nah. I’ll get it, I’ll be really quick.” I said, getting up. I walked the hallway than ran to our rooms, the hunger’s clawed up my stomach. I unlocked the door, and slammed myself in my bag, reaching up to the top pocket of the suitcase. There was a bar of silver just for me. I smiled, even grin in hunger. I bit in to the silver. It tasted like…like summer to me. Each bite I could taste sunshine, like I had the beach in my mouth, then it would melt in my mouth like chocolate. It was like blood for a vampire, nectar for Half-Bloods (Percy Jackson). I ate it all until it was all gone, I licked my fingers off of the silver. It was additive but it was the sole purpose of my survival. After I ate, I went back down stairs where everybody was now just putting their plate up.
“Uh! I’m so stuffed!” Johnny said, rubbing his belly. “Who’s up for dessert.” He said, grabbing a slice of cake and shoving it in his mouth.
“You’re going to make yourself sick and I need you for training.” I told Johnny.
“I won’t” he said with a mouthful.
“Beautiful.” I told him.
He swallowed and burped. I clapped for him.
“Can you do a burp snark? You know that thing in Grown Ups 2?” Damon asked.
“Let’s find out.” Johnny told.
“I’m not staying for this.” I said standing up, “We got to be up at 5 am for training.”
“5 am!” the blonde said, “I need my beauty sleep!” she shrieked.
“Beauty sleep?” Aries laughed, “You need a whole century!” she said.
“Aries!” I told her shocked.
“Somebody call a wam-bulance!” she giggled at me. Kara and Jamie started laughing uncontrollably causing everyone else in our group to laugh.
“GUYS! That’s not funny…well it is! But…” I tried to say without laughing.
“You can’t tell you didn’t find that funny?” Ryan asked me.
“It is it isn’t nice!” I scolded him.
“Honey, I would love to see you control that little girl. Yesterday, Kara did I tell you what Aries did to Michael?” Kara asked Jamie shook her head.
“I just told her to go wake up her brothers…” I said shaking my head.
“Yeah, well me and Ellis are talking and all of a sudden we hear is ‘YOUR DEAD MEAT’ and Michael comes out soaking wet.” She laughs out.
I look at the time on the stove, 10:00! Their bedtimes were usually like 9:30! Shit! “Guys it’s time to go to bed.” I said gathering up all of them.
“Uh! But I’m not even tired!” Michael argued with me.
“Yea, but its past your bed time, plus I can’t have sleepy ninjas? Now can I?” I asked them.
“NO.” they said.
“I’ll come up later…there some Alpha things we need to discuss about.” Ryan said.
“Fine. Don’t stay up to long.” I told him, kissing him on the lips.
“MOM! EW! Why you do that?” Aries told me, cringing.
“No, it’s a way to tell some you love them.” I told her, kissing Ryan again. “Good night.” I told him, before tugging on three kids to get to bed. I finally got them to bed. I turned on their night light and white noise machine, quietly. I was still a little energized by the silver but I was ready to go to bed. I changed into some pink zebra shorts and a pale pink tank top. I crawled into bed, turned off the light. I was almost falling asleep when I heard a knock. I slowly turned on the lamp next to me, and got out of bed, I grabbed my robe wrapping it around me. I opened the door to Alec.
“Alec?” I asked. Rubbing my eyes at the bright light for the hall, “Where’s Ryan?” I asked him.
He growled at me, “Don’t say that name.”
“Why? He’s my mate.” I told him.
He growled at me. I went out to hall, fearing I would wake them up, once one was awake all of them would be awake. Closing the door.
“No. I am.” He growled at me, grabbing my wrist. I yanked it back.
“Don’t you dare, you will never be my mate.” I told him I watched with pride as the words hit him like a ton of bricks. “I Ellis Night Wood reject…What’s your name?” I asked him.
“NO! You can’t do this.” He told me, kneeling taking my hand.
“Watch me.” I told him, yanking my hand from him again, making him look in to my eyes. “I Ellis Night Wood reject Alec Esteban Reed as my mate.” I told him. I enjoyed watching his world shatter in front of me. It was beautiful, Death is as a miracle as of birth the quote from Doctor Sleep from Stephen King echoed in my head. I opened the door, “Don’t forget to wake up your pack at 5:00.” I told him, closing the door going back to bed, like it was nothing.
