It was my turn to drive, Ryan was in the passenger side, and the kids were asleep. I looked back at Aries, she was still scaring me. We going to the wrong pack echoed in my mind. I know I thought I brushed it off but I didn’t being in the quiet made me remember what she said. I looked back at her again.
“Hey what’s wrong? You’ve been looking back like now the tenth time.” Ryan asked me, looking at me with worry.
“I know…” I told him, looking back again, “its Aries…those night mares and what she told me this morning…” I began to say.
“What did she say?” he asked me.
“Well when I told her that we ‘The Wildflower pack’ and she told me ‘We’re going to the wrong one’.” I told him.
“Really?” he asked me, now looking back at the sleeping Aries.
“Yeah. I thought I forgot about it, but now it’s like my brain reminded me and it’s setting off alarms…I’m just worry about her.” I told him. He cupped his hand over mine, his hand seemed to almost swallow in his, making it look small and delicate.
“It’ll be alright.” He told me, and I trusted him, “Hey, let my drive.” He told me. We quickly parked at a gas station, I filled it up then we hopped back in catching up with them.
I toke out my IPod and hooked it to the car turning on ‘Hell Breaks Loose’ by Eminem and Dr. Dre. Eminem has become my new religion, I have all of his songs starting from album Infinite to his latest Marshall Mathers LP 2. An hour later we were at the pack house, but we weren’t even able to able to get in the car before…
We parked, the kids were excited to finally be out of the car. Stiff legged we got out. “Uh! Finally we’re out!” I heard from Jamie.
“I know!” I told her, bending backwards to crack my back. But it didn’t stay like that, I stiffened when I saw The Wildflower pack come in. They looked so hopeful and in despair. I saw the hope when they saw us come, knowing that we would help their pack but despair knowing they maybe should have called sooner. The pack wasn’t too big about only 75-80 people. Ours had a little over 200-250 people.
Nick was up first, “Hi, I’m the Alpha Nick and my mate Kara, this is my Beta Johnny, my Third-in-Command Shane and Zack, and my best fighter Ellis and her mate Ryan.”
“Ah, Nicky how can you be so cold and leave out your sister?” Jamie said.
“And my Sister Jamie.” Nick finished.
“Better. Just remember I know where you sleep.” Jamie finished, a couple people laughed at them. Just then Nick’s phone rang. “Excuse me,” he told him.
“Hello?” I heard.
“Yes this is.”
“What! What pack is this?”
I stopped eavesdropping by then I knew it wasn’t my business to know. So I waited, quickly after the call, he demanded a meeting.
“It was a set up.” Nick said, angrily.
“A set up? By rouges?” I asked him.
“Yea. They attacked this pack knowingly they were going to call then while we were driving here, and attacked another pack.” He told me.
“Really?” I didn’t think much of rouges, I never really thought of them as smart and quick…I guess I usually pictured them as a rabid dog.
“Yeah…We underestimated them...” Nick said.
“So what pack?” Jamie asked.
Nick looked at me, I felt myself get cold, my breathing stopped, “Were going to the Red Moon pack.”
“NO!” I objected.
“Ellis…” he started to say.
“Don’t you Ellis me! You all can go. I’m not going.” I told Nicky.
“You have to, you’re my best fighter.” Nick said, “Think.”
“Think? Oh, I’m think alright. Have you?’ I asked him, I glanced back at my children making sure they were alright.
“You should have head him! He was begging!” he pleaded at me.
“Begging? Oh, I would love to hear that. You should of record it! He didn’t stop when I begged him to stop, or them to stop…” I whispered/yelled at him, not wanting my children hearing us. I was on the verge of slapping him, even though he was my Alpha. Ryan came around slipping his arm around me.
“Honey, think about the children.” He told me.
“Children? Huh, yeah let’s think about the children. What if he finds out, he’ll take them away from me!” I told him.
His eyes turned black, “He will not take what is ours. Besides, I’m going to we both do since it’s both our packs helping him and I can’t go without my Luna.” He told me.
“How long?” I asked him.
“A month…or two.” He whispered, this was the standard time of helping a pack.
Were going to the wrong pack echoed in my head, it felt like my blood went cold, my heart stopped. “She knew.” I whispered.
“She knew. I don’t know how, but remember when I told you this morning she told me ‘were going to the wrong pack’? This is what she meant.” I looked at my silver haired baby girl. How did she know? I tried to rash it out. But I couldn’t.
“Why should I help them?” I asked Nick, “Give me one good answer why I should help them?”
“I’ll give you the right to kick their asses in training, starting with Alec.” He told me.
“Fine. But if they get hurt, it’s your fault.” I told Nick, I made my words as cold as I could. I would enjoy hurting them watch them hurt while I put them through the training.
We hopped in the car again, we had another two hour drive. Giving me time to make hell for them.
