Someone must have seen him, because the police were at his door. HBe did not know rather to pretend to not be home or just go ahead and acknowledge the police. He is sure that the cops seen him fleeing the scene and had back-up officers chase or track him down. The knock on the door intensifies, he gets up from behind the sofa, and walks to the door. He peeks through the peep hold and see that it is indeed the police. Fear really starts to settle in. He did no steal anything even though that was the plan. He and his friends were told that the gas station was supposed to be a huge hit.
Before the whole thing went down, Javen Gideon took off running in the opposite direction. he wanted nothing more to do with his criminal friends if he wanted to keep the nice house and car that he owns.
As a matter of fact, that is the only reason why he went over to his friend's house. To tell them that he could no long be apart of their criminal activities. To tell them that he wanted to get back on the straight and narrow. Before he could even get to his speech they had already included him in the crime.
And now, the cops are banging down his door for something he was not even involved in.
Sighing, Javen knew from the very beginning that his friends were nothing but trouble. But, he went along with their plans and such. At that point, he was so desperate to have some kind of friendship.
